BMW OEM Tire not going to last
I have almost 3000 miles on these tires and I don't think there going to last another 3000. The rear tire is flat spotting and the front tire is cupping. The dealer recommended maintaining a tire pressure of 42lbs which helps with the longevity. He has had several complaints on the short tread life of these tires. The uneven tire wear is very noticeable in the turns where you can really feel it "drop" off the edge. The rear tire, straight up or a hard lean there fine. It's in the middle where you can really feel the "edge" which produces a not so stable turn, especially in the rain. The cupping on the front tire is causing a vibration through the handle bars which after an hour or so, makes your hands fall a sleep. They are the C rated tire for heavier bikes, but so far I'm not impressed. I'll run these thru the winter, but come spring, I'll be tire shopping!
As far as grip, wet or dry, there not bad, but they don't compare to the Michelin RP3 I had on my FJR.
These tires might be OK on a lighter bike but not a 800lb BMW.
( Michelin needs to make a 190/55/17 "B" RP3 and they would have a customer for life!)
