MachineartMoto Avant RT Front Fender Extender for BMW R1200RT

The MudSling-AVANT is a patent pending front fender extension that adds 5.5" of length to protect the front of the bike from mud, water, tar, and rock splashback. The AVANT is unique in that it mounts without the need to drill holes in the fender, unlike other fender extensions. Not only is it simple to install with the included three grip clamps and black coated screws, it looks beautiul and integrates with the stock fender and is transferable to another bike without leaving disfiguring holes behind. The AVANT installs with three compression clamps secured with T25 Torx head screws, included with the fender.

Made from injection molded in resilient black polypropylene, it is shaped with characteristic flared wings that widen the splash coverage area without looking wide. The surface finish beautifully matches the stock BMW fender.

A bit pricey but..... You get what you pay for. It looks GREAT, Install took only a few minutes and no holes drilled or screwes sticking out. July 27, 2015
Protect your engine Easy to install and looks like it comes down far enough to protect the exhaust and engine from getting debris from being thrown up from the front wheel. May 25, 2015
Great design! Excellent design and ease of installation makes this a really nice R1200 RT accessory. Oh, you'll wince at the price but once installed, any doubts you may have had are history. January 27, 2015
Solid, haven´t had any issues Quality product, very happy with it, it has been almost a year since I purchased it and it is still holding tight, and looks sharp on the bike. September 12, 2014
i like how it attaches without drilling holes just installed i'll see how it stands up to the test of time April 12, 2014
Great product Keeps road spray down quite a bit and looks like it was built by the manufacturer. July 22, 2013
Easy installation Easy to install. Looks al little funky since it does not follow fender lines but it is not in an obvious spot, Little things like the black-out screws help to make it look a little more stock. Have not ridden the rain with it so cannot comment on slop protection. July 15, 2013
Great fender extender, easy to install, looks and works well. This is an excellent product, it mounts with pinch clamps very easily, but is actually held in position by built in ridges that align and with the stock R 1200 RT fender perfectly. Also, it really looks great because the curves and angles were designed to fit the form and function of the BMW look, and it complements and extends the overall design of the stock fencer, gives it balance, while not overwhelming the dramatic stock front. The 5 inches extension completes the half circle of the front fender, and provides that critical bit of coverage that blocks the spray onto the front of the engine. Also, it cleverly widens the coverage without looking bulky. A well thought-out and well made improvement that looks great and works great. The simple instructions tell you to mount the bottom pinch clamp first, then the side clamps. It all works, and fits up beautifully. Clean and simple. A no-brainier, enjoy the ride without the splash. May 20, 2013

JAMES D: I thought I would refine my answer . The Avant Rt fender extender is an excellent piece. The fitment and installment are first rate . I have 2012 Rt and the avant fits perfectly . I have studied the design of the new 2014 Rt front fender and it is shorter and sits at a different angle to the engine case. Therefore I do not think it will fit. I am sure Avant will come out with an extender for the 2014 Rt. I would highly recommend purchasing it when they do. Feb 17, 2014
