I used the Leatt STX all summer and barely noticed it. A few things to keep in mind. First, you have to wear a full-face helmet for this to work. If you take the time to size it correctly using the enclosed chart, it is easy to slip on and off. Second, make sure if you have back armor that the Leatt STX is sized to rest on top of it. I had trouble a few times with the Leatt butting up against the edge of my back armor and then riding too high, instead of resting on top of my back armor and sitting in its natural position. Second, make sure that the brace makes contact with your helmet when you reach the limit of your head's natural range of motion, not before or after. This just takes some time to size correctly which you only have to do once.

Is it best to measure chest size with full kit on, ie jacket and back protector, or does Leattes sizing take that into account without?

I am borderline chest size between L/XL and 2XL without kit so just need confirmation before I order. Thanks.

Answer:
Didn't seem to add any bulk to my jacket after upgrading the chest/back armor. I wouldn't factor it in unless you want to add the new protectors AND leave the standard thin pieces of foam in there as well for more protection.
