Leatt Pro 5.5 HD Chest Protector
A little warm, put well made
In the spirit of "close the barn door after the horse got out", I bought this protector AFTER I was chased off the road and ruptured my spleen. It does have good coverage in the flank as well as chest and back. I am a bit large and it fits well but can be warm, as expected.

Comprehensive rib cage and shoulder protection
Due to a recent crash with rib injuries a new chest protector was needed. Chose this model based upon reviews indicating it will provide a significant increase in protection. Have only worn it once so far. Impressions; a bit warm when worn under a jersey, once moving it disappeared from my awareness of having it on. Can't and hope to never be able to vouch for its ability to protect. Dislikes; one of the shoulder cup / arm pad assemblies detached when removing the gear when the ride was over. It may not have been properly attached beforehand.

The Best Pressure Suit Alternative
I have been wearing pressure suits for off road riding since I started 6 years back. After many years of overheating and feeling restricted I decided I had enough and needed to find an alternative. My first concern was not to take a big hit in the protection area but still be cool. This armor fit the bill perfectly in every way.
CE Level 2 protection front and back and level 1 on the shoulders. I even bought the body protector from leatt first and can say the armor is almost identical. There is a bit more soft padding on the body protector. But after determining this was almost just as good i stuck with it. This is not some cheap roost deflector. This is the real deal off road protection. I have not crashed in it yet but I can trust it to save my hide.
Fit is great and easily adjusted, it is extremely comfortable and has great air flow. The weight is a lot less then the pressure suits I have worn. I am probably biased on the air flow since I had pressure suits before this.
It looks great too, but I wouldn't suggest wearing it under a jersey, it is a bit bulky for that.
Also the ability to add in a neck brace is a huge plus for me! If you are trying to find that perfect compromise for a pressure suit this is your buy. Just add elbow guards and you are good to go, i recommend the Fox Racing Titan Pros, you will need to remove the tricep armor for them though.

Nice protector but Leatt and Revzilla service is even better
I use this protector for about 6 month.. about 40 hours. it fits great, Protection is good and few times I sampled the dirt, I walked away with no injury.
The real story is that It broke recently, so I contacted revzilla to see if they would Warranty it. in 3 days, I had 100% credit in my account. outstanding service and great to know that Leatt will stand behind their product no questions asked.
I like my protection, so will likely Upgrade to different version of Leatt. but overall, I could not be happier with Leatt and Revzilla

I was really surprised by how comfortable this was. Under normal riding I didnt notice it at all and under tough terrain its still barely noticeable. For the amount of protection this offers I think its great. I have yet to wear this with just a jersey on underneath so I don't know how well it vents but with a jacket on it definitely gets warm especially when your exertion level increases. On the highway its not bad.
I had one low-side in the dirt, I landed on my side and didnt feel anything.

Best chest protector ever
I heard these fit small so I bought the xl and glad I did. I am 6'4" tall and 150lbs so i never buy extra large anything but due to my height I did. Thankfully the 5.5 Pro HD is very adjustable so I was able to adjust everything in so the xl fit my thin frame perfect and the extra height in the xl was a must. It is extremely comfortable and I have never felt safer. Makes all other roost or chest protectors look like a terd. Love it, money well spent.

Best Rib Protection On The Market!
Leatt Pro 5.5 HD Chest Protector has the best Rib protection on the market. I tried a lot of different full body armor style uppers and other chest protectors but none have good or any rib protection. They might say they do but a little piece of rubber or a strap that goes over your rib area does not count. The only negatives and they are small. I think the shoulder pad adjustments should just be mounted off the main shoulder strap and the back protector could be made longer.

Exactly what I've been looking for (almost)
I recently had a pretty high speed crash wearing a Leatt Adventure Lite chest protector. The product did fine, but I think my elbow broke some of my ribs (well, something did, lol). So, I wanted something that would protect my ribs more, and this came out. It's exactly what I was looking for.
Yes, it is a little odd putting your arms down at your side, but I for one ride with my arms out in front of me, so that's ok!
The 5.5 Pro has plenty of protection all around and is VERY adjustable. Fits great! I moved the shoulder protectors so they sit slightly forward, that way they'll hopefully be in just the right place should I ever need them (assuming I'd be traveling in a forward direction) I think this is the product I was looking for for a long time. Thumbs up!
