More riders should be using chest and back protection
After one of my friends went down and suffered fractured ribs and a collapsed lung, I decided to start shopping for chest and back protection. Why did I choose this Leatt? CE rated for chest and back? Check. Fits under a leather jacket with only a plus one size? Check. Comfortable? Check. Secure plastic clips instead of Velcro for durability? Check. A very well-made product.

Ample Protection
After breaking my collarbone due to an impact with a sign, I wanted a bit more protection. Living in Florida means I'd need something that wouldn't be too hot in for the weather. This vest is nice because it's just the armor plates and can be thrown on without any hassle. I'd definitely recommend it for the way it handles heat.

Light and protective
I bot this body vest about three months ago and have used it three times since then. Overall, I'm very impressed with it. I'm a very average shaped 5'11" - 163lbs and it fits my torso and shoulders properly. When riding, it does a great job of staying out of the way. It also breathes well too. I did have one big off and the bike cartwheeled and landed on me. The chest piece did a great job of deflecting the blow and I walked away smiling.

Good value, good price, good protection.

Perfect for Leatt GPX club
I purchased this because I wanted increased protection, but with compatibility with my Leatt Club Brace. This fits perfectly, with straps that keep the neck brace in place. Also, there are pieces removed on front and back to allow the brace to slide down onto chest and back.

The only issue I have with this brace is that the Velcro straps on the rear of the shoulder is limited to making it larger only. I could have used a little tightening in that area.

As usual, amazing customer service from Revzilla.

Great protection
1st time out the dirt bike was laid down and if it hadn't been for this vest she would have gotten pretty torn up. An awesome piece of equipment, especially for the sale price. I can' recommend the product highly enough.

Haven't Crashed Yet
Well, in my mind, what really matters about a product like this is how well it keeps me safe when I crash. So far, I haven't done that yet, so I can't really speak to that aspect of the vest. I can, however, say that upon receiving it, I was a little disappointed.

It feels a little cheap and a little thin. I'm not sure it's really got the protective power that I want it to have.

It also fits quite large. I ordered one that should have fit perfectly for my chest size and it's only barely small enough with the straps as tight as they can be. I'm not real pleased about that.

I'm going to keep it and probably crash in it this summer and hopefully it will do well in that. If not, I'll be sure to let everyone know.

I use it more often as a street bike vest for some protection when too hot to wear more proper gears.

Hi, any sizing advice. I'm 5' 10" and about 160. It seems in most other body vests I would be small/med but in the description for this one it recommends the L/xl for people my height and weight. Is this good advice or should I stick with my usual size of sm/med? Thanks

BEST ANSWER: I purchased this vest in a sm/md for my wife who is 5'3" 130, and the fit had plenty of room to spare. With the straps tightened all the way the fit was a little large for her torso, but would have worked if it wasn't for her riding position (naked bike, more upright). The back protector ran long and was hitting the seat causing the vest to rise off her shoulders.

I tried the vest on myself 6'3" 180 and the the fit was just right for the straps, however the chest plate didn't quite cover the bottom of my rib cage (but I'm not sure if it is supposed to). If it were for me I would have tried a different model, not a larger size.

Sounds like the sm/md would be your best bet. Hope this helps your decision.
