Pinlock-ready, Transitions photochromatic faceshield for LaZer Monaco helmets.
The Lumino visor represents a break through in sun glare protection: it is the only shield that darkens from a clear state of 90% light transmission to a dark state of 20% light transmission, in about 15 seconds. This effectively means that the Lumino is a complete visor, all-in-one, always giving you optimal eye relief.
LaZer Monaco Lumino Transitions Face Shield
Outstanding face shield
I bought a Lazer Monaco helmet prior to a 10 day motorcycle vacation in Ireland. I wanted a flip-up helmet so that I could quickly take pictures without having to remove my helmet, as well as the convenience of being able to take a drink, etc. I specifically chose the Monaco because of the face shield. I really don't like wearing sun glasses inside my helmet, and I knew a dark tinted shield wouldn't always be suitable. The Lumino shield baited me into buying the Monaco...
...and then hooked me. Firstly, the optical quality is nothing shy of outstanding. Unlike a previous reviewer, I've had no issues at all with the transition from clear to dark. It gets as dark as the dark smoke shield I have on my Shoei helmet, and the darkness of the tint always seems appropriate to the light conditions. In fact, this visor is so good it has literally kept me wearing the Monaco over other helmets I own. Nothing against the Monaco, but my Shoei Qwest is more comfortable and far quieter, yet I keep wearing the Monaco because of the outstanding visor. Finally, Revzilla now has a Transitions visor from Shoei available for preorder and I've ordered one based on my experience (over a year now) with the Lumino visor on my Monaco. Personally, I don't find the Monaco visors difficult to change, but I love the fact that I don't need to change them! One visor has been all I've needed. Outstanding product, and one I highly recommend.

LD rider perspective
I have used the Lumino faceshield for over a year on my Monaco full carbon helmet. I am not satisfied with the darkening effect of the lens. Even during bright daylight it does not darken well enough. And lower sun levels towards sunset and sunrise do not even make it dark enough and create glinting or a need to wear sun glasses. I will go back to the built in sun visor other helmets provide.

works very well - but a little pricey. contrary to comments I've read elsewhere, the shield is very easy to take on/off using just a coin.

Travis T: It's a replacement for my scratched shield. The transition coating is FANTASTIC! I can ride to work in the early morning before the sun is up and then home in the afternoon without having to change my face shield or carry sunglasses. I wonder why more helmet makers don't offer this option?Apr 26, 2014
