Smaller The XL cheek pads are smaller than the L. This has made the helmet fit better. May 4, 2015
Best investment for a monaco helmet Bought one size up since the cheek pads that came with my monaco helmet were always tight enough to become burdensome despite how long i wore them and broke them in. Going one size up definitely made the helmet a lot more comfortable and i wish i have done it sooner when i first received the helmet September 29, 2014
Easy swap for a perfect fit The Morpho System Plus in the Lazer Monaco allows you to tailor your helmet for the perfect fit. I measured carefully and purchased a Medium, but even with the chin bar up, the helmet was a little too tight in that area only. I rode a few hundred miles to account for break-in, but ended up swapping to the Large cheek-pads (which are actually smaller than the Medium). They were easy to snap in and now the helmet fits me perfectly. May 5, 2014
This did the trick- perfect fit! After purchasing my Lazer Monaco Carbon helmet, and wearing it for a couple long day rides, I realized it was not going to work for me. It was killing my jaw area, which is rather square. The head of the helmet fit just right, but it was just too tight in the cheeks/jaw. I was afraid I had wasted all that $, since I couldn't send it back after wearing it on the bike. I decided to try these replacement pads, and now it's perfect! (I have the small helmet, with the M. replacement pads.) April 28, 2014

Donald K asked: I've recently purchased a large Lazer Monaco, and it fits very snugly around the top of my head, and a bit looser around my cheeks. The Medium helmet was too small to wear for more than a few minutes, and the large seems like it would break in slightly larger than desired only on my cheeks. If I wanted to make the helmet fit tighter, would I buy the medium cheekpads, or would I buy the large cheekpads for my size large helmet? Apr 9, 2015

James S: I had a similar situation. I started with a large helmet and the cheekpads were to tight. I bought a set of XL pads and it loosened it up. If you need the cheeks tighter you would need the medium pads to tighten it up. The shell sizes are the same and the thickness of the padding makes up the different overall helmet size. Apr 9, 2015

Kyle G: I purchased a medium helmet and wore it for about 8 months before I purchased the large cheek pads. The large cheek pads have made all the difference in comfort. As long as the helmet feels fine everywhere except for in the cheek area I would go with the smaller size and purchase the larger size cheek pads. Apr 10, 2015

John A: To make the helmet fit tighter, you want to order the size "smaller" than what you have. The size designation refers to the size of the head that will be in the helmet. So, small pads will actually be thicker to fit a smaller head and large pads will be thinner to fit a larger head. Apr 10, 2015

Dennis S: Down size your cheek pads to fit tighter in the cheeks and up size to fit looser. My wife's helmet fit too tight in the cheeks so we purchased her a larger size in the cheek pads to make it more a comfortable fit. Just apply the same logic you would to any clothing. D. Shaw Apr 10, 2015

Howard S asked: the cheek pads that came with the lazer monaco MD purchased puts too much pressure on my wifes cheek areas and jawline... is there a thinner set of these we can purchase? Feb 28, 2014

george c: I purchased the XL cheek pads for my Monaco helmet - they worked out great. Nexttime I would probably go with the XXL cheek pads, they are a little bit thinner. Give the pads some time, they will compress down a bit after wearing the helmet for a while. At first, my helmet was a pain to put on, after a couple dozen rides it has become easier.

RONALD M: Howard

I had the same issue. Monaco doesn't sell cheeks pads by mm sizing like most but you can get different sizes. You simply buy the next size larger cheek pads. For example my helmet is a large so I purchased extra large cheek pads. The snaps that secure the cheek pad are in the same location regardless of the size. Hope this helps.

Tracy D M: Hi,

I had the same problem, the cheekpads in the small helmet were way too tight. I just simply bought the medium size cheek pads and it was very easy to take out the small padding and replace it.

The helmet fits much better now.
