Awesome Product Have not ridden with it yet only test fitted. I read reviews that it ran small and I normally ride with XL from ICON. Decided to still get a Large because I wanted a tight fit. The fit is perfect, snug exactly how it should be. March 2, 2015
Great looking helmet This helmet is by far the lightest and coolest looking helmet that I owned. I wish it came with an extra tinted faceshield though. February 16, 2015
Excellent Helmet This helmet is one of the lightest I've seen at 3 lbs. and one of the most inexpensive carbon fiber I'm come across. Pairs great with the Lumino transition face shield. February 16, 2015
Can't wait for it to break in.... I am a big fan of lightweight carbon fiber helmets. My old helmet is a Marushin full face, which I bought in the Netherlands for 200 Euros (about $300 at the time.) For the price, I feel this is a great buy. I intend to buy a Sena bluetooth set-up, modify the (hopefully broken-in) cheek pads, and enjoy tunes while I ride. The helmet is quiet and I am optimistic I will stay satisfied with this purchase. I can't say enough good things about Revzilla's employees. They are extremely helpful and gracious with their customer service. February 12, 2015
Great Helmet! The fit was a bit narrow at first, specially around the cheeks. However a call to Revzilla customer support gave me the idea to flatten the cheek pads under a heavy object and it worked. The fit is much better now and at the $199 discount price this helmet is a bargain. You get a light carbon fiber helmet with pin lock anti-fog visor that works to perfection. Good design, great look, well built. I'm loving it. January 29, 2015
Good lightweight helmet! I got this helmet for the carbon fiber and so that I can put the Illumino shield in it. This helmet is a good light helmet for not a lot of money. It seems to run a little bit small. I normally wear a large, and I was able to get my head in a Large, but it was pretty darn tight, so I opted to send it back and get the XL. Glad that I did. It lets a lot of air in, but it is also pretty loud. I was planning on getting a bluetooth communicator for mine, but am wondering if I am going to be able to hear it if I do. I guess I can play with some earbuds and see if I have a hard time hearing with them in. Also, this helmet looks really good if you like the CF look. The have aligned the CF mesh so that it is symmetrical. I think it looks sweet! January 26, 2015
Amazing with the Lumino visor When I first wore this helmet it was so much better than my previous cheap one, I fell in love with it. I didn't come with the Lumino lens in the box, I had to get one later, but it was really worth it. Used it for commuting, worked perfectly. The only thing that bugged me with this, was the top vent switches, too hard to operate with gloves on. Everything else like visor seal, aerodynamics, weight (carbon fiber - do like!), Pinlock (!) is superb. And if I ever decide to buy a modular, I'll go for the Lazer Monaco Carbon. Lazer is doing a great job with carbon fiber and Lumino visors. I'm replacing my Kestrel because I dropped it from my tank and I've been wearing it for 3+ years. January 24, 2015
Good fit if you have a pinhead I got this helmet because my other helmet weighed like 5 pounds so I got this helmet because everybody said it was really light and stated that it was an intermediate oval head shape which my last helmet was which fit right but was just uncomfortable because it was so heavy. So I put the helmet on and I could hardly get it past my chin, I had to pull the front of the helmet down to make it fit right which was really uncomfortable and immediately started to feel pressure points on my forehead. Somebody stated it fits true to size so I got my size which didn't fit. Somebody else stated the field of view in this helmet is good because there is a big opening for the visor but since the helmet sits so high on your head your whole downward view is going to be diminished. The nose guard/breath guard is utterly useless just blocks your vision even more don't know why anyone would want one on their helmet. The chin curtain is only made for riding in cold weather. If you want to ride with your visor open a hair you can't really do that because it still stays open about an inch on the closest setting. The helmet looks really big too when you have it on so I don't get why it is so tight. Its light and the padding is soft which is the only good thing about it. Look at the picture it is really narrow front to back... January 8, 2015

Robert S: Good reviews and great personal service from Brandon W when he replied to my help email. The price, carbon fiber look and weight was a large factor. Free shipping to Military APO addresses is a bonus. Feb 7, 2014
Bryan H: Chose this because of the carbon fiber and how light it is because that. It has removable and washable liners and neck rolls. The sizing was pretty true to my measurement. Despite not having cutouts for a blue tooth unit I was able to install the Sena SMH10R with little to no issue. Just takes careful placement of the ear pieces, and once installed works well with no discomfort. Lastly I ordered the WideRace Lumino Visor, which was one of the main selling points for me to get a Lazer helmet. Sep 16, 2013

A shopper asked: does the laser kestrel carbon light have ear pockets for speakers? Sep 30, 2013
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Arthur F: Unfortunately no... This was the only issue I have with it. The moduler version does, kinda, it come pre-wired for the bluetooth option which looks nice. But then you need to buy the moduler helmet, and there bluetooth. I haven't tried fitting speakers yet, but once I do I'll update my review. Other than that, I'm really happy with the helmet. Daniel B: No. However I have used Motorola style hook over the ear type speaker buds successfully with the helmet in order to follow two way radio communication during an event. Will be going down this path for my own music listening and mobile phone use. It is a great lightweight helmet, a favorite. Oct 3, 2013

pete r: Yes..but they are small pockets. I use the smh10 and the speakers barely fit..if its not placed properly you will feel along with sound quality go down. Sep 30, 2013

Linda W: From the limited time I had it, I do not think so. Honestly it's a really snug fit, i didnt see if i could take out the linings and put speakers in. Oct 1, 2013

Gregory W: No, and it does fit relatively tight on the ears. Love the helmet, but wearing headphones anywhere but around town hurts my ears. Oct 1, 2013

Gabe B asked: Is carbon fiber lighter than fiberglass? Jan 5, 2015
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Robert S: In simple terms for helmets, the answer is yes.

In engineering terms, the specific weight of carbon fiber weave may vary and not be lighter than fiber glass. However, it is so much stronger (tensile strength and modulus of elasticity) that a design can use less material, and thus a lighter helmet. I'm a professionally licensed Civil Engineer (Transportation spec.) if you can't tell already.

That helmet is a really good deal, I thought of buying an extra just to have. It really is as light as people write, not just hype. But don't expect it to have all the features of a $500+ helmet. Read the reviews for it and the Lumino face shield.

Alfred T: Carbon fiber is significantly lighter than fiberglass. I've got at least 5 different helmets including a Schuberth C2, Schuberth S1, Nolan N43 Air, a couple of HJC's and some open face. Of all of them, my Lazer Kestrel is the lightest.

Hope this helps.

Chris E: Most definitely. Helmet is roughly 3 or so pounds. Very comfortable for all-day (10+ hour / 600+ miles) riding. One of my favorite helmets of all time for fit and comfort. Varies by head shape and personal choice for sure Jan 5, 2015

Daniel D asked: Does this model have a photochromic lense? Nov 24, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Robert S: Daniel,
Yes. For a while, one came free with the helmet as part of a promotion. However, now you must buy one separately. The photochromic shield worked well for me, but see the reviews for it to get a more balanced opinion. The photochromic shield and light weight were factors in my decision to buy this helmet.

jason p: unless my helmet is completely different than everyone else here, yes it does indeed have pockets for speakers. They are just not the typical cheap round looking cut hole the majority of people are looking for. You can easily fit speakers right where the chin strap is coming out. Oct 30, 2013
