LaZer Kestrel Carbon Light Helmet
Light weight and amazing photochromic visor
I have put a lot of miles on this helmet and I definitely do not regret purchasing it. I currently own really good helmets (shark and shoei) and believe me this one is a pretty good one.
- SHIELD: Incredible bang for the buck since it include pin-lock lens and PHOTOCHROMIC VISOR (if promotion still available)! If you were skeptical about these systems watch Anthony's videos and trust me they do an incredible job. I tested the anti-fog in a wide range of temperatures (mid 30's to mid 80"s# and I could see the fog building up around the lens but nothing on the pin-lock system. Also, the visor is really clear and turn dark very quickly at around 50% darkness but this is a very subjective feeling.
The shield mechanism is really tough and easy to operate.
- LIGHT WEIGHT / COMFORTABLE: carbon fiber speaks for itself. I relied on the size chart #and my little experience ;] # and fitment was no surprise.
- DECENT AIR FLOW / QUIET: I found the venting quality of this helmet fairly good. I recently ride in the mid 90's and was not overheating. Also, this helmet is relatively quiet.
- Top vents are not really easy to find with a pair of gloves.
- Does not come with a visor lock mechanism.
- I do not think intercoms are easy to install but did not really try... to verify!
Overall, I recommend this product. It is not the perfect helmet but does a good job in every key points #noise level, air flow, optical aspect, weight, ergonomic).

Best carbon fiber helmet for the price.
Overall, I am happy with this helmet. I have only had this helmet for a month, ride to work about 3 days a week.
Pros: It is the lightest helmet I could find in this class. The fit is good, slightly snug at start and gets comfortable soon. I love the carbon fiber look and the helmets subtlety. The available Transitions shield with Pin-lock is a major factor for my choice. The visor will fog without the Pin-lock insert, so use it and it'll never fog. The Transitions shield gets medium dark, but not really dark enough if you're used to dark tint.
Cons: Not as many air ports as higher end helmets. It does not reduce a lot of noise. It also has a loud wind noise at speed depending on fit, vents, and if you use the included chin piece. Wear ear plugs or earphones (if legal or safe for your area).
I think I made a good choice, but I wonder if I should have waited a few months for the Shoei NXR (ECE 22.05 RF-1200) at a much higher price point. Revzilla service is great, got the helmet to me at my duty station in Japan in a couple of weeks. No hassles, no worries.

Great value, style, and versatility.
Received the helmet with the free shipping in two days and I haven't ridden in it yet since it's still snowing. The helmet looks beautiful and I especially like the pearlescent quality of the white graphic. Its also extremely light. Initially the fit of the MS size was very tight but after wearing it for about an hour it feels broken in and fits very well, like a glove. The shield change mechanism is simple to operate and very sturdy. The vent switches may be hard to locate with gloves on but they make a noticeable snap when they're switched so you'll know when they're switched. The manual for the helmet is very easy to read and informative. Before adding the pinlock lens the shield fogged but the pinlock lens was easy to install (watch Revzilla's pinlock guide video) and now I can't get it to fog if I try! I sprang for the Lumino Transitions lens and was worried it wouldn't get very dark but I tested it outside in the bright sun with snow everywhere and I didn't have to squint at all. My experience with other helmet brands is limited to just KBC but so far Lazer seems to have the quality of the Japanese brands but at a better price.

Light weight, fits true to size, good product for a reasonable price.
This helmet is very light. After a 3 hour ride the other day it was like I wasn't even wearing a helmet. One of the main selling points for me.
The style doesn't hurt either. I love the carbon fiber look and so do other people it would seem. Ive recieved at least a few compliments already on it. Other riders have questioned what kind of helmet it was and when I tell them its a LaZer helmet they tend to look a little puzzled. Most the guys around here don't know the LaZer brand I guess. After checking mine out and me telling them about it they leave with a good impression.
The helmet fit just as advertised. I measured my head, ordered, and put it on. It is a little tight going on but once its on i feel like I'm in my own little environment.
It hasn't been hot enough to really test how well the air flows through this thing but so far it seems to flow air just fine. I can feel cool air channeling across my head. and at speed the chin vents keep me from suffocating.
The pinlock included seemed to work well when i first got the helmet, but I ordered the Widerace Lumino lens to replace the stock one. IT seems to work for the most part but the lens will start to fog a little if im not moving for too long. Im not sure if its a failure to seal or if its just a fault of the pinlock system after too much exposure to temperature differences from the inside and outside environments. I do really like the auto tinting though it works very well. (kind of disappointed with the anti-fog at the moment, i figured it wouldn't fog at all. maybe i got a bad one, or maybe that's just how it works. Again speaking of the WideRace not the stock visor.)
The helmet seems quite comfortable and the materials feel soft to the touch and pretty plush. Everything being removable and washable is an extra plus. I even installed the Sena SMH10R blutooth unit in the helmet. I was afraid it would cause too much pressure as there are no cutouts for the speakers. But with careful placement and wrangling of wires i was able to install it just fine with no discomfort to my ears. The helmet feels slightly more snug, but after that 3 hour ride like i said before its like its not there almost. It sort of just becomes part of your head.
You get great peripheral vision with this thing. even better with the Widerace visor due to the pinlock not distorting vision like on the regular visor.
All in all this is my first real quality helmet. There may be some things i didnt catch because I have never had a nice helmet before to compare it to, but having said that I do feel like it was money well spent and would recommend it to anyone who was looking for a light weight, stylish helmet, with available transition visor and pinlock system.

Good Helmet only if your head isnt tiny
This helmet looks great and is super light. As for the noise cancellation section I cant answer truthfully since I didnt get to use it. Why? Because my head is too small. This helmet fits my head perfectly snug but the design is rather large, so on my small frame I look like I have a watermelon on my head. it didnt mold with my frame but made me look very silly, like a child wearing their father's shoe, but it's a helmet instead. However, if the look had fit I know I would have loved this helmet.

Light weight but uncomfortable.
Nice light weight but has no place for your ears which causes me much discomfort. I had to trim the foam liner around my ears to be able to even wear the helmet for a short time. I tried the replacement check pads but they don't fit well, different design than the original liner. No way I could install any sort of intercom due to the lack of cutouts for your ears. Very noisy compared to my Arai Quantum. Very nice transition face shield (darkens in sunlight).

Great Helemt, and for the money... SWEET DEAL!!!
Really happy with the helmet. Was using an RF1000 for several years, and it was ok/good. But the fit of this is so much better. I got in on the deal with the free auto tinting shield... So happy! Defiantly worth the money. I can finally thoroughly clean my liner. Years of FL and AZ heat... :-( I've been recommending not only the helmet but Revzilla as well to fellow riders. Really glad I found this site and this helmet. Now I think it time to upgrade the bike to match the helmet. ;-P
Happy Happy Happy
