Great concept but failed on hardware ...
I purchased a set of these bags direct from LaRosa (left w/fuel bottle, right w/o, and a fork bag) about 6 months ago. When they arrived they really did look great. Install was pretty simple. I have passenger pegs and they're still usable but the left side really could use an extension 2 inched would be good. The leather is nice and thick and has held it's finish well. The bags serve their purpose. That said, they've not done the best at holding their shape. Also note that I had to punch additional holes in the straps to get a nice tight fit. The major con is that the metal hardware is NOT stainless. After one day riding in light rain the rust started, I've kept it to a minimum but this has been another 10-15 minutes every time I clean my bike working the rust off the buckles and snaps. The fact that these bags are for a bike, which regardless of how hard I try will see water every now and then, and they used hardware that is so readily prone to rust is a major fail in my opinion. Especially when you dropping hundreds of dollars for them.

Again, I purchased mine directly from LaRosa and any negativity in this review is specifically about the product and NOT Revzilla in anyway.

Excellent purchase
I have the sportster 48 and I love this bag on the bike. I used the fuel bottle on my first long ride with it on a long stretch of highway somewhere in WA. The extra litre got me around another 9 miles, I was really happy to have that extra bit of fuel with the little peanut tank. The bag is not huge but it fits a leather jacket or a change of clothes. Gets the job done and looks great.

Great
passenger pegs made it a little more difficult to install, but if you ride without them its much easier to put on. high quality materials, super tough and looks great. the bag also doesnt come out far from the body, still giving you that bobber look. a friend of mine has the same bag and he also loves it, would highly recommend to anyone looking for a little extra storage space

Great solution with a clean look
Excellent quality and relatively easy to install (just buckles on - tight fit in some places so a little hard to get to the buckles though). This looks real nice on the bike when going to a minimalist look while providing essential storage so you don't need to strap things on the bars, forks or fender.
It's also very nice to have that extra 30 oz of gas with the little tank!

The Bag is just "OK"
LaRosa bag was ordered so that I could store a few items and carry some spare fuel. The construction is fine. However like others have noted. I had to punch additional holes in the straps to get a tighter fit.

The securing points on the bike are not very clear and one has them going around your brake lines - so I left this one particular strap a bit looser than the rest.

The bag is "OK" looking. I say this because it continues to sag and lose it's shape. Don't buy a bag with one large wide securing strap. Get the two strap options they work better.

If you like a more fitted and shaped bag then you may want to steer clear of LaRosa. I've purchased a lot from them over the years always happy with the product but these bags are not the best fitting. If that doesn't bother you, then buy it they hold up well and do the job.

Awesome for solo writing
Looks great! Thick and strong leather but I couldn't leave my passenger pegs. That's the only reason I give it 4 stars

Install on 2015 Iron 883
Just an FYI- with the fuel bottle, its not a 100% "tight fit"- it either goes on the outside of the brake line bracket or on the outside of the rear spring- move the bottle and it 'slots' right in. The pick on this page shows it on the outside of the rear spring but keep in mind it will be angled either front or back. Not a bad thing- matter of preference.

***Note i bought this direct from La Rosa (clearance sale, man!), but the reviews here are great so wanted to share my experience.

Can't quite install it correctly
I'm not sure it is compatable with passenger peg mounts. Might have to uninstall them to use the bag.

After chatting with a person who has one strapped to his Sporty, I decided to order one for myself. The bag is well built, great looking and functional... love the flask er umm fuel bottle.

will it interfere with the passanger foot peg?
A shopper on Jul 27, 2014
BEST ANSWER: ON my Iron 883 the bag could not be mounted correctly with passenger pegs.
Can someone provide the dimensions of this bag including L, W, and D? Thanks Much!
A shopper on Jun 24, 2014
BEST ANSWER: 6 inches at front 12 at rear 16 long with bottle 4 inches thick. you can get a lot in this little good looking bag, I have the single strap, less work if your going to use it much.
Will i be a able to ride someone if i put this bag on my 48. My concern are the pegs???
A shopper on May 13, 2016
BEST ANSWER: no you cant use the foot peg , but I can sell you the bag , only on the bike two weeks( found a fat bob I had to have ) $150.00 like new, fuel bottle is great for the 48. don't want to piss off revzilla need them for all my extras. maybe they will sell it for me so I can buy more stuff, anyway bag is great but you will not be able to use the peg.
what is the diff between the standard width and wide width? is it worth the extra $$? Thanks.
A S on Oct 3, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Standard width has 2 straps holding the flap shut (like in the picture), where the Wide width is one strap.
What is the best way to care for this bag? Should I remove it every time I wash my bike?
Matthew M on Jul 10, 2015
BEST ANSWER: We've had the bag since spring, and it has seen some rain and a few washings. The leading edge of the flap has curled up a bit, and the snap of the strap holding the fuel bottle has broken because it rusted a little and was difficult to unsnap - it finally gave way. I'd recommend removing it when washing.
Can the bottle pocket be removed? Thansk.
Michael N on Jun 7, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Hi, Sorry to reply so late but just bought this item in Jan. 2015. The bottle holder comes off but taking it off leaves strap holes and six "snaps" exposed on the main bag. Unless you plan to use the bottle most the time, I'd buy the non-bottle model. I took off the bottle holder because the bag is made of thick leather and looks surprisingly large only '48, but the SNAPS and holes made the bag look trashy so I put it back on. I live on a small island (Hawaii) about 220 miles around and plenty of gas stations so I'm not even sure why I bought the bottle style, except for a little extra security on a ninety miles stretch across the backside of the volcano. On the mainland it might be more useful and there's always the added bonus of being able to buy a regular bottle and fill it with margaritas, what I like to call a LaRosa Cocktail, made for throwing back, not throwing at.
Any advice on installation?
A shopper on Nov 17, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Check out YouTube. There are a couple good explanations. I thought you were joking until I tried to put mine on. Here's a KEY bit of information: Position the straps so the buckles are on the inside of the bag. There is not much room to work on the installation and having them inside the bag when tightening makes it possible. Not sure why La Rosa sends out as they do; must be a reason. Nice product, but I have big hands and can't think of a way the outside method would work.
