Don't let anyone walk off with your helmet. Lock it right to your bike with this chrome universal helmet lock. Works on engine guards, frame tubes, or any other 2 1/4" long straight section of 7/8" to 1 1/2" diameter tube.
Conceptually, it seemed like a good helmet lock. I was wrong. First it has two features which are worthless: (1) the "one way" screws used to secure the product to the frame or crash bars etc.; (2) style.
Let me explain, the "one way" screws mean that once you have the correct location where the helmet lock is to be installed and you secure it to the bike, you may find that the location is not at all what you wanted. Now you may be stuck unless you drill them out. Suggestion, buy two regular stainless steel screws, so if you decide to change the location you can. Another thought on the "one/two way" screws, what thief is going to spend the time unscrewing screws to steal your helmet. My answer, very few if none. Use the "two way" screws and enjoy your trip.
Second, the lock + key seem unnecessary in my opinion. Refer to my previous comments. Why the lock, when a crescent wrench or a pair of channel locks will twist it off which saves time for the thief. Second, it just doesn't look right from a style perspective which is my own personal opinion.

Edward D:Reed, I also wanted to use removable screws and I did not want the heads to strip out. I just went to a major hardware store with the supplied screws and matched them up to stainless socket head (aka Allen head) cap screws. They are metric, I applied some Loctite to the threads when installing.Aug 6, 2015
