Kuryakyn LED 1156 & 1157 Style Bulb

Brighter, lower draw, longer life and better resistance to vibration than standard bulbs. Due to the directional design of these bulbs, it is necessary that the bulb faces the lens for proper illumination. This is an inexpensive way to upgrade from incandescent to brighter LED bulbs.

Features:

  • Available in 1156 (single filament with inline posts) or 1157 (dual filament with offset posts)
  • Available in red or amber color
  • Sold each

Note: Because of low amperage draw, a load equalizer is recommended when using these bulbs.

Not very bright at all
I was hoping these would be brighter than the standard bulbs that I was replacing. They aren't. For LED's, these things are dim. They do fit into the housing easy enough- but they just don't cut it for brightness. I'll be getting rid of these. And if you have a newer Harley, these bulbs are not Can-Bus agreeable- your turn signal flashers in the dash blink rapidly. So there that too.

Spend the extra money on custom dynamics led
These lights function fine. Not as bright as I hoped. Very easy install. However I needed to glue the bulb together to make it work. It came apart from the base. Some 3m trim adhesive fixed the problem. Just not impressed by the brightness. I think stock bulbs were just as bright.

Worked perfect for my 2013 fat bob
Was a bit nervous about this item working properly. Prior I bought led bulbs from auto store and realized I could not get them to fit in my stock housing (would not go deep enough to lock). Once I received these led bulbs I was very happy. These bulbs fit with no problem and worked perfectly. I am unable to rate durability due to only having them for a month. So far they are perfect. The only reason I dropped one star on performance is the brightness is a little less then expected. I recommend this product.

Definantly brighter
When riding with buddies they said my turn signal were not that bright and i should change the lens. I took the approach of changing the bulbs to brighter LED's first. Now my buddies say there are more than bright enough. Very easy install and of course the usual great prices and customer service i got from Revzilla again.

Installs in a snap. Great look at a great price for those who want the benefit of LED without changing out your stock components.

Not as bright as stock.
Installed on my Road Glide, reverted back to stock after disappointing light spread and brightness.

One of my taillight dual filaments blew out.. the running light part. So I had to swap it out with either a new filament bulb or upgrade.

Will these work on 2014 fatboy lo? If so, should I get single or dual circuit?
Victor N on May 5, 2015
BEST ANSWER: It should. Works fine on a 2012 Softail. Some notes: If it's for a turn signal / brake light application (on/bright/off), get the dual circuit. If it's for light only (on/off only), get the single circuit. If you look at your bulb, dual curcuit will have two silver contact points on the bottom, single circuit will have one. Also, although it doesn't effect the speed of your actual turn signals, you will get a fast flash on your gauge. Last, match the color of your lens. If you use white LED with a red lense, it will look pink when illuminated.
What does 1157 dual circuit mean? And will it fit in a 883 harley sportster 2014 tail light
A shopper on Dec 7, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Dual circuit means it will act as a running light (marker) as well as a blinker. Most Harley's have the front turn signal lights on solid all the time except when flashing to indicate a turn.

Not sure if it will fit the 883 but if the replacement part for the 883 is 1156 or 1157 it will. I have the Road Glide and it works well. The only issue which is not a big deal to me is, due to the lower wattage draw the bike thinks the bulb is out and will flash faster than normal to indicate a blown bulb.
will these fit a 2006 sportster?
A C on Jun 10, 2016
BEST ANSWER: They should, as I am sure they still use standard 1156/1157 bulbs for both front and rear side markers.
How many Lumens does this light produce?
Justin F on Jan 17, 2016
BEST ANSWER: IM not sure on the actual lumens number but they are great for turn signals brighter than stock blubs
I see the note concerning a 'load equalizer'. Care to amplify on that topic? Are we talking about needing splice in a parallel resistor, and if so, what are the locations/values needed?
A shopper on Jul 12, 2016
will they work on a 2016 street glide special?
A C on Mar 8, 2016
