Kuryakyn Curved Laydown License Plate Frame Mount For Harley
Looks great, well made.............but......
Overall the product looks great and is well made and well designed, however, the hardware as one other reviewer noted is really cheap. For a $70+ dollar item you would think they would supply better quality hardware. The supplied screws and lock nuts look good but when installing one of the nuts stopped turning, jammed tight as if there were no threads at all. When I tried to back it off it just snapped in half. I ended up using a nut and bolt from the factory plate mount, at some point I'll get 3 matching stainless steel nuts and bolts and do it all over again. I know it sounds nit picky but the manufacturer trying to save a few pennies turned what should have a been a 5-10 minute super simple install into a half a day project by the time I undo everything, drive to the hardware store, buy new parts etc. Again, the product looks fantastic on the bike and is exactly what I was looking for to smooth out the lines on the back of the bike, I would definitely recommend this product to anyone looking for a good license plate mounting option. My only suggestion would be once you receive the item before you do anything take the hardware with you to the store and match up what they supplied with good stainless stuff. FYI, the screws and nuts I'm talking about are the 3 used to attach the unit to the fender itself, not the 4 tapered hex screws for mounting the plate to the frame, I did not have any problem with those but if you don't want chrome screws you might want to look for something matching in black.

Simple way to clean your bike up
You may have to trim your plate to make it fit. Even if you don't trim it perfectly the frame will hide it. It works just like a picture frame. There is a frame and a back piece that bolts to it. Pretty simple.
I have 2000 FXDX and my blinkers were mounted right behind my stock plate. So when I bought the integrated brake/blinker i use this with it.
I am sure there are other ways to do-it-yourself but this was just super easy to order and bolt right on. Matches my black harley perfectly

nice plate brakets
Fit and Finish is excellent, Great value, priced better than HD dealership. Easy to install, holes lined up perfectly.

Had to find my own hardware to install the frame due to the fact the hardware they provided snapped during install.
Also didn't care for having to drill holes in my fender, so now there is no going back!

This buy exceeded my expectations. Not only is it amazing looking installed (chrome finish to match, stream lined with the fender and fits under my luggage rack, which the stock license mount wouldn't which I may add is complete BS, thanks Harley) revzilla price matched amazon and applied my left over revzilla bucks ($5) which brought it under anything on ebay without having to worry about slow shipping and shady sellers. They got it to me 2 days after I ordered with free shipping. As far as the install, it was probably just the installer that was the problem... lol. It was actually easy enough once I fingered it out. Again revzilla comes through and shreds the competition.... thanks

Much better look than the stock frame
If you are familiar with Kuryakyn products you already know they make top quality parts, I have bought several different items for my 2 Harley bikes and they never disappoint! This plate bracket falls in that category, I have a Matt black softail so I got the black frame, it looks great, lays down almost flat to the fender and it is curved so it follows the shape of the fender. Very heavy duty construction, installation took me 10 minutes. My only gripe is that I wish the screws were black as well (chromed) I know it's petty but for those of us going for the all black look it matters I painted them after install. Great product!

Cleaned up my rear fender
I've been looking at a new plate setup for my '01 project sporty. I wanted a nice clean, simplistic look to the bike yet without looking too custom. I thought about moving the plate to the left rear axle, but I didn't want to A) buy a stupid plate hole cover with skulls or other usual harley styled pieces. B) I didnt want to waste a ton of time and money filling and respraying the fender. So this plate setup was perfect, it was low, black and didn't break the bank. Anything is better than the tall stock mount.
The install was VERY straightforward, but not easy...at least for my bike. The three #3 phillips screws that hold on the stock plate are kinda of hard to get to without bending the stock mount. Maybe this is doable with a #3 right angle hex key type bit. If your bike is stock height, it should be no problem at all reaching under the fender to get a wrench on the 7/16" nuts. In my case though, a slammed XL, this was a pain. In the end it was doable, but it might of added 10 minutes to the install. Reaching blindly under the fender and getting my hand between the fender and tire was a little tricky.
Overall, the mount looks great done and it really cleaned up the back fender.
