K&N Air Filters

K&N Air Filters are designed to achieve a virtually unrestricted air flow while maintaining filtration levels critical to engine life. The secret to their success lies in the unique characteristics of the filter medium which was originally developed by K&N all those years ago in the dust, sweat and tears of desert motocross racing.

The high flow cotton gauze air filter is washable, reusable and built to last for the life of a motorcycle engine. K&N air filters consist of four to six sheets of cotton gauze layered between two sheets of aluminum wire mesh. This media is then pleated and oiled to enhance its filtering capabilities and overall performance. K&N Air Filters were created for an environment requiring maximum horsepower and enhanced acceleration in addition to protection from the dirt and dust. The result is an air filter that allows dramatically more air into an engine, is washable and reusable, and will protect your engine for the life of your ride.

KN Air Filters 4 5 1 1
K&N for 06 CBR1000RR I've installed the K&N air filter on my 06 CBR1000RR and I'm happy with it. I have read that the BMC filter is better and that the K&N robs you of a few HP. That's completely untrue for this bike. You do need to follow instructions with the install to get a proper seal with the air filter though. In the past with my OEM filters, my friend with a 2010 BMW S1000R would hang around 4-5 bike lengths on me from a 2nd gear roll to the top of 4th. After this install, it's only about 2 lengths he beats me by (consistently). I feel it's a good measuring stick for HP gains and disproves any rumors of HP loss. I'd recommend it to anyone interested in a filter you can clean and ready to gain an easy HP gain. October 27, 2014
