Kaoko Throttle Lock Yamaha Super Tenere XT1200Z 2010-2013 Videos

Kaoko Throttle Lock Yamaha Super Tenere XT1200Z

The Kaoko Cruise Control is perfect for anyone looking to reduce fatigue and strain on your hand and wrist during long distance highway riding.

Each Throttle Lock consists of a simple, ingenious and robustly designed friction nut that is integrated with a special Kaoko bar end weight. The Kaoko bar end weight is closely matched in appearance and weight to the Original Equipment Manufacturer's (OEM) bar end weight.

The Friction Nut has a left-hand thread. It must be adjusted so that it makes light contact with the rubber throttle sleeve.

The Grub Screw is set to provide the necessary resistance on the friction nut. This may be adjusted periodically to take up wear.

To Engage: Twist the throttle and friction nut simultaneously with your right hand. This action tightens the nut and provides sufficient friction to set throttle to the desired position. The friction nut is designed that the rider may still open and close the throttle.

To Disengage: Roll off the throttle while gripping the friction nut. The throttle should open and snap closed freely.

Features:

  • Easy to operate, even with heavy winter gloves
  • High quality, compact and durable design
  • Super smooth action
  • Takes less than 5 minutes to install
  • Very little maintenance is required
  • Less wear and tear on throttle cables and grips
  • Better MPG

Note: Does not include a replacement left side bar end weight.

Works as advertised!
Excellent design allows for easy use. It's simple to use the edge of my right palm to rotate the throttle lock into the locked position and rotate it to the unlocked position on the move. Creates just the right amount of drag on the throttle to hold it steady while still being able to adjust the throttle for changing terrain. Great product, better than other devices I've used in the past.

Great product
I haven’t had the opportunity to use the throttle lock yet but it seems like a very high quality product. Installation took about five minutes and I have no experience installing throttle locks. I am very satisfied with the quality and it came highly recommended.

Does the job. Let's you wake up your numb fingers on a long ride
Revzilla has fantastic customer oriented service. Communication, shipping, and video reviews. The koako cruise control works well for what it is, a throttle drag. You can always override it just by turning it. Electronic cruise would be nice but on an adventure bike maybe just something else to break. The koako is simple and easy to diagnose on the trail, less complicated. Note on the Super Tenere it only works on the stock handelbar if you switch to pro tapers no go. The inside diameter of the pro tapers is smaller. Overall buy it you'll like it and Revzilla is better to buy from than even the manufacturers directly. They know how to treat customers!

great addition to a great bike.
I am very pleased with the kaoko. My Alaska trip was great but would have been different without it. Cal08

It's a throttle lock.
It is. There's no hidden features, it's not special in way, shape or form. It's a throttle lock and it is super expensive. Like most others on here i bought it because it looks cool with some hidden hopes that maybe, just maybe it was hiding something really special that everyone had missed in their reviews. Guess what? It's not. There are 3 things you need to know prior to buying this. 1) It's a working throttle lock 2) it's not special 3) it's probably the most overpriced thing you'll ever buy. I'm not ranting in anyway though, I knew the price and function prior to purchase, I am more amazed I actually bought it though.

It's on my tenere and it looks cool (unless you happen to know how much I spent on it, then it just makes me look dumb).

Spendy but works as intended
Does exactly as designed, locks your throttle. Beautiful fit and finish. Blends in well. Hardly notice it on my 2013 Yamaha Super Tenere. Easy 5 minute install. Just a bit spendy for what it is.

My hands go numb and I needed to be able to drop my throttle hand without having to pull over. I heard that this was the option to go with.

Factory friction or lock was not available in 2012 for my 1200. Would not recommend this. Throttle lock is pretty bad idea. Better to have none. Removed it.

This has got to be the best bang for the buck accessory I have bought for my bike! It's amazing how much more relaxed I am on those long stretches heading to my favorite twisty roads!
Michael A on Jun 29, 2014
Because my wrist gets tired after a while on longer trips. I wanted something substantial and easy to operate.

Looks to be the simplest solution. Since the Tenere has hand protectors, it isn't as simple to use a standard throttle locker. This looks simple and easy.

I put some progrips on my Tenere and they run a little short. Will this affect performance of this product?
Jason C on Aug 29, 2016
BEST ANSWER: They shouldn't do as the the product doesn't contact the stock grips, nor do the grips have anything to do with the function of the throttle lock. If your grips were too long, that would be a different matter though.
