Kaoko Throttle Lock BMW K1200GT/ K1300GT/ R1100 GS R RT/ R1150 R RT GS Adventure Rockstar

The Kaoko Cruise Control is perfect for anyone looking to reduce fatigue and strain on your hand and wrist during long distance highway riding.

Each Throttle Lock consists of a simple, ingenious and robustly designed friction nut that is integrated with a special Kaoko bar end weight. The Kaoko bar end weight is closely matched in appearance and weight to the Original Equipment Manufacturer's (OEM) bar end weight.

The Friction Nut has a left-hand thread. It must be adjusted so that it makes light contact with the rubber throttle sleeve.

The Grub Screw is set to provide the necessary resistance on the friction nut. This may be adjusted periodically to take up wear.

To Engage: Twist the throttle and friction nut simultaneously with your right hand. This action tightens the nut and provides sufficient friction to set throttle to the desired position. The friction nut is designed that the rider may still open and close the throttle.

To Disengage: Roll off the throttle while gripping the friction nut. The throttle should open and snap closed freely.

Compatible with Barkbuster VPS and Storm handguards.

  • Easy to operate, even with heavy winter gloves
  • High quality, compact and durable design
  • Super smooth action
  • Takes less than 5 minutes to install
  • Very little maintenance is required
  • Less wear and tear on throttle cables and grips
  • Better MPG

Perfect fit. Did require a washer... Perfect fit. Did require a washer which makes it not actuate until it is given almost 3/4 turn. Looks WAY better than anything else. And the quality of the materials and crafting is top shelf. September 1, 2014
EASY TO INSTALL AND TO OPERATE Kaoko Throttle lock was easy to install on my BMW RT. It is easy to operate as well, once you realize that you need to lock it very tight if you want your speed to remain constant. August 12, 2014
It's a relief on long trips I bought this throttle lock just prior to leaving from New Hampshire to ride down to North Carolina, and back again. I logged over 3,500 mi in 7 days. I was riding with a couple of friends, and that is the only thing that really got in the way of using the throttle lock more because I would try to maintain a certain throttle position, and find myself speeding up or slowing down. I did find eventually that I would have the throttle lock on, but still commit small adjustments as needed. This gave my hand the rest it needed. Installation was easy, but there was a catch. I had to place a small washer inside the Kaoko to adjust for enough space between it and the throttle. I think they should have included this washer. They even mentioned that you may need a washer when installing it. Otherwise, it was an easy install, and ready to use. I am glad i purchased this product. May 18, 2014

A shopper asked: Does it come with a matching bar end weight for the left side? Apr 14, 2015

Pierre L: There is NO matching bar coming with it because the look of the end weight of the Kaoko device is the same (but shorter because of the nut) than the look of the original BMW bar end weight. Apr 14, 2015

Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Pierre L: As far as I remember, the washer was less than an inch, the size of the end handle. You will understand what I mean when you will remove the original end and replacing with the Kaoko. Maybe you won't need a washer at all... Jun 26, 2015
