comfortable, stylish, and protective This jacket is super cute. I ordered it a little small because I'm currently losing weight but when I got it, it fit perfectly. I can even wear layers underneath. For a leather jacket it is very cool and breathable. I wear out on my summer rides and I'm fine. Definitely recommend this jacket. July 14, 2014
Joe Rocket Radar After an extencive reseach I decided to order this jacket. I am 5' 2", 120 lbs, 34" chest and I ordered a size small that fits like a glove. I even have room for 2 thin layers and the liner. The jacket feels and looks great and provides all the protection that is needed. The inside pocket can be accessed with or without the liner attached. I only took it for a short ride, so it hasn't been weather tested yet. June 21, 2014
My favorite jacket for my winter rides I own 2 Joe Rocket jackets and I wear the other one in the summer a lot since it's got a mesh layer. This one was a little too chilly for those cold winter days, but then I got a heated liner, and now I wear it all the time. I've got big shoulders and long arms, and this fits me fine. I was able to cinch in the waist for riding with the self-liner (or no liner), and then I have to let it out a little for when I ride with the heated gear -- there's a lot of bulk for the wireless controller, but this jacket accommodated the differences. Made for petite women I really really wanted to like this jacket. I'm 5'8" and 140 with narrow hips and waist. The medium in this jacket is too big even with the waist cinched in completely, the arms are about 2" too short, and the bust line is weirdly high. The neck opening is enormous, and the shoulders are narrow-set. I love the styling and it's a well made jacket, but it's obviously designed with petite women, probably 5'5 and under, in mind. Awesome jacket PROS: I really like this jacket. This is my second Joe Rocket jacket (my first was all mesh) and it fits pretty good. I am a more than a curvy woman with what I believe is referred to as a donkey-booty. With this type of back-end the jacket does ride up just a bit and the back zippers at the hips are open. The mid section is a little looser than say a corset might be, which is slimming. I don't have thin arms but jacket fits there like a glove going right up under the arm-pit, but not tight nor is it uncomfortable. The arm movement is great with the expansion gusset located behind/below each shoulder. CONS: The elbow and spine pads are thin and flimsy. I took them out and put mine in from my other Joe Rocket jacket, which fit great. The neck opening is pretty large. As voluptuous as I am in other places, I do have I do not have a thick neck. However, a nice wooly scarf took up the space and in the summer I think I will appreciate the extra air flow. I did not like the liner as it doesn't really have much give, making it feel restricting. RESULT: So, I took it for a ride. My arm extension felt great, the liner was helpful (I just did not zipper it). It was 50 degrees with fair winds. I was not cold at all. I felt overall comfy, protected, and dam-it, kinda sexy. I rock this jacket! March 17, 2013
Perfect Jacket! I am 5'3" 110lbs not curvy at all. (Let's just say my front is very similar to my back...) I knew I was never going to find a perfect jacket that would fit me like a glove but this jacket comes extremely close. I got an XS and it is a bit roomy overall, especially in the bust area, but I love this jacket. The fit is flattering because you can cinch in the waist with the back buckles and makes me look and feel sexy. This jacket goes seamlessly from riding to street style. The different textures of the jacket look great on and off the bike. Just unzip the jacket to expose a cool top and you're ready to go! I got the jacket last summer and I think the combination between leather and mesh is perfect for warm weather riding. The leather kept me warm during chilly nights and the mesh saved me during the blistering afternoons. The roomy-ness I mentioned earlier is a good thing, actually, because I like to layer up. It's perfect for a thermal and a zip up when it gets chilly (45 degrees). I live in Chicago where the weather is at the extremes and this jacket took me from Summer to all of Fall perfectly. The only (minor) problem I had with this guy was that the placement of the elbow armor was weird. When I got the jacket, I tried it on and the elbow armor was more like only forearm, where my elbow and impact area were exposed. I couldn't adjust it to sit where it needed to be because it kept sliding down in the pocket where it would be uncomfortable to bend my arm. In the end I just took it out and it's been hiding in a closet somewhere... Also, last thing, I am neutral about the inner lining that it comes with. I did get caught in the rain with it on and it definitely did keep me dry for a solid few minutes, (It is only water resistant, just like described) but I dislike wearing it. It makes an annoying crinkle sound and since I'm probably just wearing a tank top under it, I don't like the way it feels on my bare skin. It's good to have in a backpack if you carry one but I don't, and mother nature is fickle around here so I probably will get caught in the rain. It is great, however, when I'm layering up for cold weather. It does help prevent the cold air from coming in through the mesh and I don't mind because I'm wearing a hoodie or something. Okay, all done. Sorry for the long review. I love this jacket! If you're on the fence, don't hesitate! Get it! It's worth it. Maybe I'll post a picture when the weather gets warmer. February 18, 2013
Generous diva sizing A great jacket with a generous fit for the voluptuous woman. The jacket has great airflow, the length is perfect and looks awesome. If buying the Diva sizes, I recommend going a size smaller as it is a very generous cut and adjustable, but call or email first. November 4, 2012

RevZilla Store asked: Why did you choose this?
Dianne D: I like leather jackets, but prefer more of the sport bike style and something a bit more "girlie" without being too extreme. This suits my style. Mar 1, 2014
Daniel R: This jacket had good reviews for fitting busty, small waisted women. It lives up to the reviews. Good sturdy leather and construction, and looks good too. Never had any problems with Joe Rocket Gear. Jan 15, 2014
Jessie O: I wanted a stylish jacket with protection for multiple seasons. i especially like the option of spine armor and the extended back, as well as the adjustment points. Oct 18, 2013
A shopper asked: Does the leather on this jacket break in at all? Apr 2, 2014

Dianne D: Could you clarify what you mean by "break in"? My jacket is very much the same as it was when I got it about 18 months ago. The leather is fairly flexible to begin with and there's a lot of fabric on this jacket. I got the white one and the white leather started looking black where the fabric rubbed across it, but I just used leather cleaner (nothing fancy, just the same liquid saddle soap I've always used on my saddles) to wash off the "black". The discoloration came right off and the white leather underneath looks brand new.

If you mean does it get softer with time? I doubt it because a lot of the stiffness is from the armor.

A shopper asked: I'm looking for my first motorcycle jacket. I'm 5'2" and 110 lbs. I live in central New Jersey and have a 2004 Honda Rebel 234 cc.

Is the Joe Rocket Ladies Radar Hybrid mostly a summer jacket or is it something I could use during September, October maybe even into November on early 7am 45 minute commuting ride. I'm looking for a jacket that works both in warmer and cooler weather - that can be adjusted to keep me cool or warm when needed.

Also, I've read the protection in the jacket is very thin, can I purchase stronger elbow and shoulder protection to replace it with?

I'm not sure what the liner looks like in this one or if it is a full-sleeve liner.

Thanks in advance!

Jessie O: I used this jacket in Florida in cold and warm weather. Definitely one you can layer for warmth but not a full on winter jacket. I had to buy another jacket for over 90 degree weather in the summer, but the liner comes out and makes it significantly cooler. The liner is full sleeve and quite effective. Depending on your tolerance to cold, you might be able to push November in Jersey, but would probably need something warmer for later than that.
As far as the protection goes, I was pretty satisfied with the elbow and shoulder pads, but replaced the back armor. I honestly can't remember if the elbow pads are replaceable for sure but I'm pretty sure they are- I think I remember reading it somewhere. I don't have it with me or I would go check and let you know.
Overall I am completely satisfied with this jacket, I love it. It was perfect for most of the year riding in Florida.
I hope this helps!

Theresa Z: I can second a lot of what Jessie said. This jacket is great, though you should replace the back pad. Otherwise I am really happy with the shoulder and elbow armor. I'm doing ok with my jacket here in Orange County, NY as we get cooler with the liner, but I also have a heated liner for chilly night riding and I'm looking for something to get me through the winter as well. I don't know that this will be the jacket for you if you're looking for a four season. But I've loved it all through most of the summer since we didn't have unbearable heat here. But, again, as Jessie said, when temps get over 90, I would invest in a full mesh as well. Good luck and safe riding! Sep 30, 2014
