the least expensive of the Joe Rocket line
I've had two other Joe Rocket helmets prior to owning this one. The other helmets were a step up from this one. This does not have the plastic piece that covers the nose and provides some breath guard for condensation in colder weather, nor is there a way to snap an old one in. The internal cheek pads are a little rougher material than the more expensive Joe Rocket inner linings. The face shield and lock mechanism are the same as the others. One thing I noticed, that I do not remember seeing before, is the Snell and DOT certification on the helmet. The Snell certification is kind of a big deal and may be the reason for the stronger cheek pads. All said, if you are a cheapo like me, I don't mind the fit or finish of the helmet. The last helmet died doing what it was supposed to do. Perhaps you can buy additional visors with the money you save on this helmet? I was amazed at how clean and clear my vision was looking out of a brand new shield after 2.5 years.
