Jensen HD1BT Bluetooth Stereo For Harley Touring

Jensen Audio has made rocking some tunes on your rig ultra easy. Their Plug and Play Stereo hits all the right notes! Its 'plug and play' design means no hacking up your factory harness, no wiring - none of the headaches that accompany most head unit swaps. The unit is also mechless. Mechless designs are the latest method of stereo construction - they have zero moving parts. Without moving parts to break, the radio becomes largely impervious to weather, or the characteristic Harley vibrations that are able to kill inferior audio systems. There are no special mounting kits or brackets - just plug everything in, drop it into your fairing, and go! Anyone who has replaced a factory Harley radio also knows that you usually lose your handlebar function when making the swap. With Jensen's unit, that's no longer a concern - your factory handlebar controls operate as designed.

Features:

  • Waterproof unit face and rear chassis
  • Bluetooth streaming audio (A2DP, AVRCP)
  • iPod/iPhone control and charging through USB (rear)
  • SiriusXM ready with optional Tuner Antenna
  • Auxiliary input (rear)
  • Works with factory handlebar controls
  • Maximum power output: 50W x 4
  • AM/FM tuner (US/Euro)
  • Weather band with S.A.M.E weather alert
  • Presets (12 AM, 18 FM)
  • Auto-store, seek tuning and RBDS
  • Red backlighting

Note: Not compatible with Helmet bluetooth communication devices.

Fitment Notes & Exceptions

  • Consider Jensen's USB and Auxiliary Jack Interface if you are looking to eliminate visible cables being attached to the bike
  • XM module and adapter not included
  • Factory HD speakers are 2 ohm units - the HD1BT has been tested stable with 2-8 ohm speakers, so most aftermarket or factory speakers should be compatible

Great product, and no issues.
I love the radio, very easy to install. Takes
About an hour. The sound is great! Bluetooth
Streaming works great as well. Very user
Friendly, I now need to add an amp. And
From the looks of things that should be very
Easy. All the connection are there for you.
Thanks Revzilla! l'm happy with the purchase.

Easy install.
Install was easy and all around happy with radio. Bluetooth works fairly well and Sat radio works well with antenna installed under fairing out of sight. The only thing keeps it from 5 stars is they could have come up with better navigation controls. Also can't just hold volume up or down to increase or decrease. you have to hit multiple times to raise up or down from handle bar controls.

I'm exceedingly satisfied with this after market replacement
I am pleased with every aspect BUT wish they could have incorporated Speed-Dependent Volume Control like the stock unit (only reason I rated features less than perfect). Otherwise it's been a fantastic unit.

Good replacement for the stock stereo
The stereo was easy to install. I also got the USB/Aux pigtail, which was also fairly easy to install. The Blue Tooth works well, but takes a little time to setup correctly. It sounds great and all functions work with my handle bar controls. I am disappointed in the power output though. This unit is suppose to have 50x4 watts output, but I can barely hear it at 75MPH (normal Texas speed limit). Overall a good stereo though.

What about AVC ( Auto Volume Control )?

- Gary
A shopper on May 6, 2014
BEST ANSWER: There is no Auto Volume Control. Noticed that one right away! Now I am an up, then down, then up, then down volume guy in town.
Does it have a CB? Built in?
A shopper on Jun 6, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Does not have CB built in, also you lose Rider/Passenger intercom.
SiriusXM ready with optional tuner and antenna, does this mean you have to purchase a separate antenna and receiver ??
A shopper on May 10, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Yes, you need to purchase the 'SXV200 SiriusXM Connect Vehicle Tuner' which is the latest version and includes antenna. It allows you to get the extra SiriusXM channels! I am sure the 'SXV100 SiriusXM Connect Vehicle Tuner' would work as well, but you lose the extra channels. Easy to plug in and deck of cards size makes it easy to stow away in my road glide fairing.
I installed very easy but sounds not that good do indeed to ad a. Amp if so what size and what kind do you recommend? Thxs
A shopper on Oct 25, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I had same issue . I went with a Hog Tunes tweeter pod and 200 watt amp and speaker upgrade . Love the stereo now .,
I have a Harley 2008 FLHTCU...Does everything work with the Jensen drop in radio replacement. Does the navigation work??? Also does the intercom work with this Jensen radio??? Ok last one. Does the cb ie bike to bike work?? I have the iPod, CB, and XM Modules to and a factory Harley AMP All with harley factory connections. Will all these items work with this Jensen radio???
I appreciate your time. I've had it with the Harley H/K radio. Repaired twice and still has vibration syndrome.....Ken

I have a J&M amp and speakers on my bike, Will this radio work with the J&M amp and speakers?
A shopper on Oct 7, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Auxiliary Amps use a "line out" signal as an input and this stereo has RCA plugs for that purpose (hooking to an amp). I would comfortably connect to an amp to mine (although I do not have an amp in my current installation).

BTW: I love this stereo BUT it does not have the automatic volume reduction when you slow down like the old one and I miss that. Just FYI

Good luck!
Does this radio have volume increase with speed like Harley stock radios?
A shopper on Aug 11, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Yes, my volume goes up and down at hi and low
Speed. You can also control the volume with the
Bluetooth turn on though your I phone. The sound
Is great with after market speaker and amp. The
Handle bar controls all work very well also.
I hope this help good luck..
Does this allow use of CB radio and allow handle bar controls?
A shopper on May 17, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I cannot speak to the CB compatibility but the handle bar controls work fine. One note though, there is no "auto volume"for speed with this radio. Not a big deal but a feature I do miss.
Problem with volume going all the way up?
A shopper on Dec 15, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I had noticed a "lag" when using the handlebar controls and it took me a while to get used to holding a "knob/switch" engaged for what seems an extended period before the radio reacts. I'm used to it now. Other than that, I'm not sure what might be going on and suggest contacting the manufacturer.

Hope this helps.
will the rear passenger radio controls work on my '97 ultra?
A shopper on Feb 12, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I haven't installed mine yet, I've got '10 Ultra. One thing for sure though - no CB or stock intercom will work. I'll come back about passenger controls later when I install it.

Regards,
Ivan T.
