The Interphone F5 has been, by far, the best motorcycle Bluetooth headset I have used ( ScalaRider, Camos, Sena). The initial setup and pairing to my iPhone could not be easier! It did, however, take a bit of time to understand how to scroll through the Interphone menu to locate the feature I was seeking. And although scrolling is somewhat time consuming, a rider can easily access music, phone and intercom. Battery life was great during my Los Angeles to San Francisco ride along the coast. The headset speakers worked well, though hopefully someday the fidelity will improve and offer better low end and midrange. The BMW R1200 GS Adventure which I ride has decent wind protection but even on some of the windy coastal areas and at 80 m.p.h. the headset speakers performed well. The intercom sounded great during the setup though I have yet to test rider to rider sound quality at freeway speeds. All in all, the Interphone has performed just as advertised and with the ease of use and audio quality it will have little competition.
Yes, I recommend this product.

I installed this last weekend on my Scorpion Helmet. I used the tape to attach rather than the hard mount. Installation took about 10 minutes. The pairing to my iPhone was simple and straight forward. The sound clarity according to those I called was great. Now I have an office on 2 wheels! Think about having a conference call now! :) The sound of the streaming music was clear. I have yet to hook up the other unit but I doubt that it will be any thing but easy! I recommend this product if you are wanting music, phone or GPS directions in your helmet.

Ordered a pair for myself, they came already synched with each other for intercom. The instructions are ok, but you really dont need them because the voice instructions from the unit are easy to follow. FM tuner is easy to use with good reception within the metro area. Takes a while to get all your FM stations preset, but once you have them set, its easy to use while riding. The RDS part of the FM tuner is a little annoying as it sometimes announces the song and artist during the middle of a song. The intercom and phone modules are AWESOME!!!! I couldnt be more impressed with the clarity of the conversations even at normal cruising speeds. I havent tried it aboove about 65 mph yet, but suspect it will be just fine as well. The dual kit I bought came with 2 bluetooth units, but what was impressive is that the kit came with 2 clip mounts, 2 double side tape mounts, 2 microphone and speaker kits for full face helmets, and 2 boom mike and speaker kits for open face helmets. Essentially, you could set up 4 helmets and be able to use the 2 units in any one of the 4 helmets. I couldnt get the clip to attach to my 2 Shoei helmets, so I used the double sided tape option for installation of the units. Once I committed to sticking the unit mount to the side of my Shoei Neotec, the installation only took about 10 minutes to get the speakers and mikes installed. My Neotec was easier to install as the entire liner is removeable, but my Wife's Qwest Goddess was a little more difficult since only the cheek pads are removeable. Both Helmets had recess's for the speakers which is a key. My brother has a Shark without speaker recess and he has had a tough time getting the speakers to fit comfotably without a little helmet surgery. The speakers are relatively thin and fit in my Shoei's perfectly without any discomfort. I havent tried streaming music yet from the ipod, but my brother used his iphone and said the music streaming worked flawlessly. All in all, Im impressed.

The buying process was excellent! But, the wiring were almost broken on arrival for one of the mics (fabrication error). So, no i have to sort out the complain process... the control knobs could have been larger. they are fiddly to operate with thicker gloves. Tested range on bike to bike was apx 500m...The advertised 1.6km sounds more of a theory. But overall, me & my mrs love to have an intercom installed. Im not sure we bought the best one available, but its good enough :-)

Having a son in the US. Army I need a cell phone connection 24/7 joy riding or not, at the time of writing the sena bluetooth version 2.1 was out and the F5, at bluetooth version 3.0,the G9 was what I really wanted but just could not wait for it to go on sale.
The F5 unit will pair well with the IPhone but trying to add much more than that will constantly drop the connection between devices (GPS Navigator IV, R1200RT bluetooth Stereo) and the only way I can find to get it back is to boot the F5 unit, NOT cool at 65 MPH.
Voice prompts are addiquate but no where does it tell you how to exit a menu once you get into it, manual is a joke, website usless, there is a firmware update but it dosent even say what its for.
FM sound is horable but music streaming from my iPhone is ver good.
I would have liked to return this product and waited for the G9 or the new sena but as mentioned before had to have something ASAP.
I hope you have better success with your devices and this unit.

I had big hopes for the F5
It looks robust and hi-tech.
When trying to pair with with Android, iPhone and GPS there were serious issues when switching between intercom and music.
Also the voice menus are very annoying - they waste a lot of time. Nice in the first 5 minutes, then gets on your nerves. Why can't they just put 3 more buttons for the different modes. One must cycle through the modes to get back to music (if it is not stuck).
My cheap older BT Intercom works much better than the F5 in respect to these points.
Last point - the Interphone support is slow and not very helpful (email).

The interphone F5 will allow three way intercom with the F4 and Interphone. The F5 is used as the hub. The interphone and the F4 talk to each other through the F5. That is downward compaatibility. The manual only talks about three F5's doing three way chat. Go figure.

Answer:
The F5 unit does not have the ability to change the output hardware. You cannot connect headphones, headsets or earbuds to it. For now, it is limited to the speakers supplied with it.

There is a jack in the rear of the unit, however that is for connecting a wired, non-Bluetooth device.

No, you will not be able to stream music from the rider to the passenger with the Interphone F5 Bluetooth 3.0 Intercom. In order for you to stream music to the passenger, you would need to have a second music player synced to the passenger's headset.

I presently use the original Interfone ( don't remember what its model number is) One of the things I like about it is that it is full duplex, so there is no need to wait for a VOX circuit to respond, and no push-to-talk button. Is the full duplex functionality included in the F5, and is the published 11 hour battery life applicable in full duplex operation? Thanks.

Answer:
The new F5 system is Full Duplex. All of the users can talk and hear each other at the same time. There is no push to talk button, unless you choose to listen to music and go in and out of intercom mode.
As for the battery life, the published talk time is 11 hours (Give or take real life battery performance). The standby time is capable of more than 700 hours.
