Icon Variant Helmet
This helmet saved my life....
Literally. Just last night... A driver pulled a U-turn in front of me in an intersection, he didn't bother to look before he did so and I slammed into his car at approximately 70 km/hr. After I was launched into the air and bounced off his car my face slammed directly into the asphalt. This helmet not only took the impact but allowed me to walk away with only a sprained right ankle. I was also wearing full gear at the time. I cannot say enough about this helmet. If anyone is looking at this helmet and wondering about how safe it is, I can attest to how well it worked in a major impact. I'm still here because of it... Thank you Icon.

Love the looks of the variant. I Bought the rubatone, and have knocked it around a few times being clumsy and found it very hard to scratch. It will make turning your head a little troublesome going over 70 with the visor wanting to take lift, but as long as you are aware of it, there is nothing to be worried about.
Overall a very good helmet.

4 years and countless cross country trips and still going
Over the last 4 years I have logged many miles in this helmet. Although the helmet is mostly good and well worth the money there are a couple key things I feel I need to point out. Now I do a lot of long distance touring and behind the windscreen of my GS it is great. However if my windshield was much smaller I would think that the shape would dirve me crazy over 1,000 miles. Its not like it wants to rip off your head, but you can definitely notice the shape. They also need to come up with a quicker way to change your visor, its not difficult but it does take about 5 minutes to do so. The visor also does not lock into place like I have seen some Arai and Shoei helmets do. For example when youre going down the highway and a strong cross breeze is present, it tends to blow the visor open just slighty which can be frustrating after riding all day. The last negative I would point out is the gap between your chin and the nose of the helmet. When it is very cold and or rainy this gap becomes very apparent. Overall a great helmet, well worth the money, have no regrets at all. Although this next helmet I will be buying I am going to spend the extra money and get a Shoei or Arai.

Great looking, great feeling, super light helmet
I've always purchased medium to lower quality helmets, but after buying really nice safety gear (jacket/pants/boots/gloves), I wanted to update/upgrade my helmet.
I bought the Raiden Carbon in Large. (last helmet was an HJC FG-17 in Large)
The size was right on, I have a rounder shaped head and this helmet still fit me well. No pressure points anywhere, a tiny bit of wigggle room near the brow, but I believe thats more due to my round headshape.
The noise is average, with the visor up, visor down it is nice and quiet until the 70mph mark, 50-60mph or under and it is nice and quiet.
I got the full carbon version which feels like a feather compared to my HJC, super super light.
The vision is amazing, I've never had this much peripheral vision in all my previous HJCs or my father's Arai.
The raiden version also comes with a tinted visor which is a huge improvement.
The helmet fits a SENA headset no problem.
The 2 things worth mentioning that everyone wants to know:
Yes the helmet peak does catch some wind. BUT, much less than anticipated. Doing upwards of ~100mph on my sport touring bike it felt great, I even looked up to test it, and although it did pull a bit, it didn't rip my neck back. At normal cruising speeds of 70mph or under there is no drag. When you look side to side to check your blind spot there is again a small amount of drag, If you look down and to the side instead of Over the shoulder there is NO drag.
2nd, the visors are NOT the easiest to change over, which is a good and a bad thing, they are heavily secure, and do require a screw driver to change, but that to me is more of a high quality thing. There is no way they are breaking or coming unclipped on 1 side by accident.
I mainly do sporty riding in the twisties, and some trial riding and this helmet fits the bill. Its light, comfortable, has great vision, and looks B.A.

May be a little tight!
It looks amazing and and breathes very well. The texture on it looks even better in person and the red lining brings it all together nicely. Goes with any color bike and the style suits any kind of bike.
The only negative thing is he size. I am loyal to Icon and only wear their gear. I have always ordered a large helmet and from my previous 2 helmets I have never experienced fitment issues. However, this helmet is a bit too tight. Not so much that I had to return it but just enough to where my checks are sore from being pushed together so much.
With that being said I'd suggest ordering one size bigger for comfort reasons.

Good First Helmet with some minor flaws
Icon always has a fun and unique style to their products and this helmet is exemplar of Icon's style. This helmet definitely stands out and gets a lot of compliments and is also very popular with stunters and motovloggers.
This has been a good helmet and was easy to modify the cheek piece to accommodate the mounting of Sena bluetooth headset.
This helmet had a considerable side profile and turning your head at freeway speeds to look over your shoulder will definitely increase the drag since the side profile is quite large due to the motocross styling.
The top vents on the visor are difficult to open close and have proven nearly impossible to open or close while riding even when stopped at a stoplight. I haven't had issues with any of the other vents.
Changing the faceshield is a bit of a chore and I had to buy a replacement pivot kit since one was damaged while trying to change the faceshields. Construct came with two faceshields but the tabs that go inside the pivot kit were shaped differently on each shield which seems to be a manufacturing defect that contributed the the pivot kit getting damaged.
I've definitely liked this helmet but it's not enjoyable for longer road trips but I'll definitely keep if for my dual sport adventures and pick up a different helmet for commuting and spirited riding.

Love the dual sport look of the helmet but its actually a street and preforms as such. Helmet looks so sweet and i like the raw look of the construct. Comfortable but runs a bit small.
