Icon Squad 3 Backpack
Around town, must! Tough little bag
Came across this bag on revzilla trying to find something for a to work and around town to replace a cheap one i had gotten that died in under 600 miles. This bag exceeded my expitations.
From the V style harness which snaps center of chest, which saves the lower tank from scratches like lots of bags with lower waist connectors to the velcro id holders which are awesome. The reflective areas on the bag really pop too for safety. Very well built. Small frame with lots of function when on the move.
The bag is very functional for it's small size. inside large Bai water bottle 2 monster energy cans (could still toss prob 2 more monsters on top),snack bars, and small chips bag a shirt to change into for work folded, still have the laptop sleeve. Front long pocket, headset (dispatcher) cologne, smokes, etc. toss my gloves in when off the bike. Front facing pocket, usb power bank, usb cables, cleaning clothes, aspirin, sunglasses and more. Also has 2 small/long pockets in the chest bands could toss change, money, an audio blue tooth ear piece in for storage, etc. pretty well padded.
Cons. Wish the velcro areas where longer. because they tend to ride up on the shoulder which makes me nervous with the curvature and a flat id holder. But never had any issues with the id holders trying to come off. **ID holder is def a pro. it's 2 wallets with a license sleeve and credit card, cac card whatever cards storage.
Con. Wish it had the helmet sleeve to protect the helmet. **bag does have an adjustable exterior strap, can hook a helmet to it.
Con. Wish the main compartment had a more flat bottom. It's stitched to a more tapered style.

Fantastic lightweight option
Obviously not a very large backpack, so don't go expecting to take it touring, but it is fantastic for taking some water bottles, some snacks and maybe something for cleaning your visor (a LOT of bugs in these mountain roads!) when you spend a day out riding the twisties. It is also great for running errands around town, or even just to take with you on a quick ride in the evening in case you decide (or are ordered) to stop at a store on the way home to pick something up for your better half.
In regards to commuting, while I'm sure it's perfect for many people, it is not large enough for my personal needs, but that's not what I bought it for anyway!
My only gripe with the Squad 3 is that it is possible for the buckles on the sternum to not line up properly and thus not close properly, which can make trying to do them up without looking, for instance if you have you helmet on, a bit of a nuisance. That being said, I got used to it after maybe a weeks practice.
I cannot speak to long term durability as I have only had it 2 1/2 months, but so far it's holding up nicely!
Overall I am very happy with my purchase and would recommend the Squad 3 to anybody who think it would meet their needs.

Great all-purpose pack!
This pack is just big enough to hold essential belongings without being too big or bulky. It straps very securely (just like you're wearing a vest) and feels like it's part of my jacket. There are more than enough handy compartments to stash credentials, headphones, keys, a change of clothes and shoes, and other odds and ends. Very satisfied with the construction and design. Highly recommend!

Great construction, most importantly fits my bulky 15.6 inch Lenovo work laptop.
Plenty of room for work stuff
Fits my bulky work laptop.
Great weight distribution.
Wish the front chest closures were a bit easier to snap. Have to fiddle with them a bit to get them to snap closed.

made just for us...
this bag goes far beyond a standard backpack for the riding applications. ive come to love some features, like the wallet/ID holder, large shoulder straps that make taking it on and off easy, and just the overall design. it is however slim which makes fitting some medium sized things a nightmare. my only other complaint is the lack of small pockets. you get 2 large compartments (one has a divider net in it) and one small pocket.
but just a day ride,or bumming around town this bag is killer!

It is a great backpack overall, although I thought it was a little bigger. Cool features and lots of diferente compartments!

Plastic Zipper is the weak link
This is a great backpack for fit, comfort, storage. The weak link is the plastic zippers. I have had my pack two years now and the top zipper is falling apart. Everything else is top notch so I recommend the pack overall.

I have been using this backpack for a few months now and for the most parts its holding together pretty well. I am a commuter rider so this pack pretty much goes wherever I do. It doesn't have a ton of room but its enough for what I need. One strap is wearing weird almost like a cut other than that its a great back pack. The reflective portions worked better than expected as well.
