Icon Hooligan Riding Jersey

Not all athletes play in shining arenas. Not all pros enjoy the adoring gaze of the slack-jawed masses. Some of the best combatants can be found running the creosote-stained hardwoods of the urban court. For this arena, the uniform is the Hooligan Street Jersey. The relaxed fit, Fighter Mesh chassis, Field Armor impact protectors, and zip-off sleeves combine to create a willing partner for your headstrong drive into the paint. The streets play rough; the Hooligan Street Jersey plays rougher.

Its like riding with an air conditioner!!! Its cool, even at 90 degrees! Just took a test spin, and it really lets air move through it well. I hate the "opening the oven door" feeling while riding in the summer, and this jacket really helps extend the rides. I didn't even unzip the sleeves. It really helps fight off the Texas heat. July 12, 2014
Perfect for hot weather riding. It's smart to stay protected... Even when it's crazy hot outside. This jacket is comfortable and stylish while protecting you from any unforseen mishaps that could happen. It kills me watching the 'tough guys' on cruisers with tank tops and bandanas on. Wonder how much their loved ones will appreciate wiping their behinds for them after feeding them through a straw. Ride smart and ride safe! July 7, 2014
Great jacket but elbow pads feel off. Overall the jacket feels and looks great, except for the elbow pads which seem a size too big compared to the jacket. The elbow pads are way too far down my forearms and I find it very annoying and uncomfortable when moving around, because of this I have to ride with the sleeves off. July 7, 2014
Amazing! This jacket is perfect for summer riding! First time I wore it I zipped off the sleeves and it fit very nice was cool and gave that little extra protection I wanted. The next few time wore it with the sleeves on and it is just as breathable!! It is amazing in any temperature 55 on up! For sure recommend this jacket!!! July 7, 2014
Great Jacket I love this jacket, it flows plenty of air and is pretty warm in colder weather. Even though I like the removable sleeves, it is uncomfortable when using the forearm pads, so I had to remove them. Overall a great purchase. May 5, 2014
now this is what I'm talking about! This takes the mesh jacket concept to its Platonic ideal. Unbridled airflow for hot weather riding. It runs a little big. I'm 6'1" 260 and the XL fits good. The jacket has a little more heft to it than I thought after viewing the photos and the video. I want to address the zip-off sleeves. Many reviews refer to them as a useless gimmick, but I can easily see parking the bike at a BBQ, zipping them off and wearing a pretty awesome-looking light shirt for the night. Off the bike, I think sleeves and elbow armor are the first to get uncomfortable in the hot weather. I can also see the zip-off sleeves coming in handy for a roadside tire change. March 25, 2014
Great hot weather jacket This jacket flows a ton of air! I have worn it on a 68 degree morning with temps expected to get into the 70's and I still got chills. I bought it right after the summer heat, but I think it will be perfect when summer comes around again. The sleeves feel a little bit long, but the armor sits where it should. I upgraded the back armor, but I think the genuine viper back protector would be a better fit. The Icon labeled one seems a little small for an XL jacket. All in all, I love the style (I got the green), and it does what it's supposed to well. February 24, 2014
a little too on the loose side, but breathable and light weight First off, I love the color. I got the grey with green writing, and it matches my 09 CBR with lime green paint perfectly. The pics make it look a little yellow, but it is definitely a lime green. As for fit, I am a 6'2" well built 215 lbs. I have broad shoulders and a wide chest. I got a 2XL because every XL icon I've ever tried on was a hair too small. The 2XL turned out to be a little big, but i think that's due to the cut. It is not a fitted jacket like most motorcycle jackets. It is loose all around, and doesn't have a constrictive lining like many "loose" fitting jackets have. The one negative about the cut is the body... it seems to be made for fat people, as the torso is very baggy. The shoulders, chest, and arms are just right, but the stomach section fits kind of like a dress.... I don't mind though. As for comfort, it feels like an interesting meld of jacket and motorcross jersey; heavy enough to protect, but a lot like a meshy tshirt. I love that all the 'design' colors and printing of it is all dyed into the clothe, rather than stiff badges and plastic pieces like icon sometimes likes to use. There is literally no hard or inflexible plastic in this jacket, which I like. It breathes incredibly well, so it's great for this hot alabama weather, but it is also large enough to easily fit a hoody under for cooler days. My only gripe, besides the weird obese-american shape, is the stupid zip away sleeves... which really bother me. I've never liked having zippers near my joints, ever since they started making those stupid pants back in the 90's, and these sleeves annoy me the same way. In addition, because of the zippers the elbow pads are pushed down and are more like forearm pads, but they still have the elbow bend so they fit weird against my forearms. I've tried pushing them up, but they just keep falling down and rubbing on my forearms. As much as I don't want to take away the protection, I might have to remove them. It's a small annoyance though, for an overall good looking jacket. I love the look, and it's a little added protection considering i left my leathers in the closet most of the time due to the heat here... if you live in a hot climate, I definitely suggest this over a t-shirt, especially considering the price is half as much as your standard leathers :) October 22, 2013

I also love the look and feel of a jersey-type jacket, and Icon make great products. Its also not as expensive as other jackets. Looking forward to wearing it! Mar 7, 2014

Alexander H asked: I was wondering if this jacket will have the newest shoulder, elbow, and back armor that icon has just released? They said that there new armor is now standard in all jackets and I just wanted to clarify if it was for this site. Aug 16, 2013

Christopher J: No. it's not the absolute "newest" armor. The jacket came out before the new D30 armor came out. Relatively the armor in this jacket is its newest. If you want to look at it that way. The armor in this jacket is called "Field armor". The newest icon armor on the market is the D30 armor. Hope that helps. The armor is stout. I took out the back protector because its too hot. Once the temp drips below 87 F ill put it back in. The shoulder armor feels great. The elbow/forearm protector floats around a bit. Nothing a quick needle and thread can't fix though. Aug 16, 2013

Richard D: I'm not sure what constitutes 'new'. I bought mine in April. It does come with armor. The pads say "Field Armor" on them. They certainly appears sufficient for a mesh type of jacket, however old or new they are. For what it's worth, I love this jacket and feel that it provides an adequate amount of protection for such a light and breathable piece of gear. Hope this helps. Aug 16, 2013

John L M: The shoulder and elbow pads aren't the new pads but are very good. The back pad is not so good and should be replaced with D30 pad. The elbow and shoulder pads are still comfortable and provide very good protection for a lightweight summer mesh jacket. Aug 16, 2013

Cary I: When I bought my jacket the newest armor was not available yet, but the new armor does fit the jacket. I got an email from Icon offering the new armor for sale. I would not be surprised if the new armor comes with the jacket. Aug 16, 2013

Efrain A: Yes, the shoulders and elbows have the newest armor in this jacket, however the back is supplied with a dual density foam pad. It is comfortable but you can purchase and replace it with the CE back field armor. Aug 20, 2013

DAVID P: I bought mine about a month ago from Revzilla. I can't comment on the shoulder or elbow armor, but the back armor is really just a thin foam pad. I do love this jacket though! Aug 16, 2013

Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Cary I: I have the Patriot jacket, so its mostly white and doesn't seem to have any special reflective material. I would hope that the darker ones have reflective material. May 15, 2014

John W. W: They fit true to size. I'm 6'5" 42 in chest and a 35 ish waist large fits me fine, even in the arms. This is a great summer jacket, i'm in Vegas, this jacket helps a lot. Breaths very well, protection is good. Jun 25, 2014

Alsharif A asked: In the video they mentioned the guy wearing the jacket has 42inch and is wearing size M. Is this accurate? According to the size chart he should be in L. I have a 41 inch chest and I'm wondering if medium would be fine also. Thx! Apr 23, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Wayne J: Sorry, don't agree with John W. These definitely run a size larger than the chart. I'm 5'10", 42" chest, 36" waist and I'm wearing the MED with plenty of room to spare. They call this "relaxed fit" and that's exactly what it is. I have room to put a sweat-shirt or other relatively heavy gear on under if it gets chilly while I'm wearing it. If you're anywhere near my size (or the guy in the video) a MED would do you fine. I talked to one of Zilla's tech guys before purchasing, he suggested MED, and he was correct. Jul 8, 2014

John W. W: Go with the large, I'm 6'.5" 41" chest and if fits fine, even the sleeves fit, and the armor is in the right spot. Apr 26, 2014

A shopper asked: I am 6" tall 175lb, usually wear Large size riding jackets. But i really need to know if a LARGE size for this jacket is my size.
I have a Icon Raiden Patrol jacket and a Olympia Moab jacket both are LARGE.
The Icon fit is on the roomy side and the Olympia just fit me right.
Please let me know wich size I have the choose for the Hooligan Street Jersey.
