These perfectly replace the pads that my helmet came with. Nice to have 2 sets so that I can still use my helmet when waiting for one pair to dry

The L/XL can barely fit in a MD helmet
The large pads are not made for the medium helmet, but you can force them in it. Snaps align just fine. It's the rear plastic that is a little longer the normal, but they will go in.

Just what the doctor ordered!
I bought an Alliance helmet for the bright yellow color but wasn't so enthused about the fit in the cheek area. The helmet felt just a bit loose (not as solid as my Scorpion) but now that I have replaced the original pads with a set that is just a bit thicker my Icon has taken over as my preferred helmet.
If you're felling like you helmet needs to be just a bit more snug in the cheek area I'd highly recommend you give these a try.

A definite improvement
I added these to my 2009 Icon Alliance lid in early May. It is June now. I replaced the pads because the vinyl bottoms of mine had torn. The lid wasn't snug anymore.
When I first installed these pads, the snaps were misaligned. Fortunately, the bottom snaps and the holes for the straps lined up well enough that I could still use the new pads. I figured I would suffer with the misalignment as the new pads felt way better than the old ones anyway. They have lined up better as the pads have broken in. At this point, they line up perfectly.
These pads took about a week to break in. I believe that it took less time for these than the originals. The new pads are also more contoured than the original pads. They were much more comfortable from day one. It also seems as though the new design will help this pair to last longer than the original pads. We shall see...
I put a lot of miles on my bike each year. It is nice to have a helmet that fits as well as it originally did. It actually fits better! I am very happy with this purchase.

Does the job
I ordered the medium sized cheek pads for my Large Alliance helmet, and they snugged up the fit nicely. Perfect! On the other hand, the last time I bought a helmet from a brick and mortar motorcycle shop, they gave me a set of cheek pads with the purchase...

Evelio M: Helmet was a little loose so needed thicker padOct 2, 2013
K Y: Totally worth 20 bucks to have a spare set so you can keep riding! After a good washing, I've noticed these take about a day and a half to dry where I live. I can't go that long without hopping on the bike, and 20 bucks for pads is better than 200 for a helmet.Sep 18, 2013

A shopper asked:I have a medium icon alliance helmet i purchased 2 months or so ago..its not snug anymore..will the small cheek pads fit in a medium to snug it up somJun 2, 2013
A shopper asked:i have a new icon alliance torrent helmet thats a xl got it in a trade but my head fitment is a large 59-60cm and the xl is a 62 if i buy the replaceable hydra cheek and head liner for it in large would it work?Oct 8, 2013
Joshua H:You'd need to make sure the shell size is the same - I found a link indicating that on the Alliance SSR the Large and XL are the same shell size, but I can't find any documentation indicating whether they do. It's advertised that the Alliance has 4 shell sizes, but not which sizes fall into each shell size.
I'd suggest contacting Icon directly. They're reputed to have great customer service.Oct 8, 2013
Lawrence K:... I purchased a large Icon helmet and then after consulting with RevZilla staff concerning the fit (who were very, very helpful btw) I purchased a set of cheek pads for a medium helmet and they worked perfectly. In all likelyhood the original pads would have fit after they were broken in, but I'm happy with the medium size regardless ...Oct 8, 2013
Scott A:Probably since the L and XL are the same - 25mm. I don't know if it will take up the extra space you may have for an XL esp if you are a large. I did like having the new ones because the helmet fit that much better. Over time the pads degrade and aren't as snug.Oct 8, 2013
Emanuel B:It should. Most helmets are actually only two or three sizes, with the intermediate sizes made up by different padding. My XXL helmet was too tight around the jawline, so I switched the cheek pads to those for a XXXL - now the fit is perfect!Oct 11, 2013
RevZilla:The Icon Alliance and the Icon Alliance SSR do not share cheekpads or top comfort liners. They are not interchangeable, and Icon is no longer making replacement parts for the SSR at this point. Additionally, our supplier doesn't have any replacement parts in stock either, so sourcing them would not be possible.Jan 30, 2013
