Icon Prep Boots

Retrograde engineering, a hallmark of the Icon 1000 design ethos. Historically significant silhouettes re-imagined with modern materials and construction techniques. And then given a personal twist of moto-apocalyptic 80's fever dreams. The Icon 1000 Prep Waterproof Boots are a prime example of this philosophy.

If you love the Icon Elsinore Boots but are constantly getting rained on (why would you do that?), the Icon 1000 Prep Boots may be exactly what you were waiting for. A select grain leather upper is mated with a full waterproof lining and lugged outsole for massive hits of awesome. Full-length rear zip and calf and heel strapping provide ease of entry and egress. A reinforced toe box, heel, and an axialmetric steel shank do the rest.

pleased with boot overall happy birthday to me pleased with boot overall little snug straps could be better quality shin guard is nice I do like the sole of the boots I don't like the return policy will only accept items if unused how do you know if you like them if caint try them out your relying on the video and expecting quality product for the price just a gray area in my opinion January 9, 2016
Good boot, just get the right size. I've had these boots for a few months now...I will first toss out the caveat that I am wearing these for 12-16 hours at a time. They have VERY stiff soles and the leather took several weeks to break in. My foot is a little wide, I guess, because I ended up having to walk around in these things with multiple pairs of socks on for several hours before they wouldn't make my feet sore after just a few hours. Now that they're broken in I love 'em. I've had them in a moderate rain for about 1 1/2 hour ride and arrived at destination with dry feet. They don't flow any air but they somehow stay cooler in the summer than my other work boots (and warmer when it's cold out). They'll take a while to break in, but once they do they're good boots. Even the Harley guys like my new boots... These things are waterproof, durable, and look like nothing else out there. A tad tricky to get in and out of, but once I got in there was virtually no break-in time. Waterproof boots are going to be hot, but I think that you really get what you pay for with these. Wore them in the rain all weekend and romped through enough puddles to say that I'm not afraid to get them wet. One issue. Minor construction flaw with the right front toe delaminated from the sole. I glued it back together, but I shouldn't have to. Maybe it slipped through QC, so check these things over before before you slip them on. No other problems and I'm super happy with them. Oh how I love this boot Now, this is NOT a August in D.C. boot. The water proof will be worthless because they will make your feet sweat something fierce. But oh my are they comfortable. Walking around D.C. and Arlington was very easy. These are serious motorcycle boots. The support and armor is in the right places. The snaps are easy but the zipper will bite the back of your leg if your not careful. This is my second pair as the first one had a water-proof failure on the left boot. RevZilla customer service was incredible. The best customer service I'd ever received, anywhere. They took them back and sent me a new pair within the week. I don't know who else would do that. I have not had one problem with the replacement boots. In fact they have broken in to the most comfortable thing I've ever worn. Hot, but comfortable November 5, 2015
Great boot for protection and style Worn these every day since I bought them, daily commutes and riding around my favourite roads. The have worn in quite quickly and have a great solid feel. They are not too fiddly to get on and off for such a large boot, and they look great over my leathers or under my jeans. The toe box is quite large so you may have to adjust your shift lever or just change your angle. If you are looking for a solid boot that is well made and built for safety style and comfort these are for you. Certainly they are made for the colder times of the year, and I expect as the weather warms up here in Australia I will be switching to something a little lighter...reluctantly I might add. Things to consider Fantastic looking boot. The vintage styling is outstanding. PROs: 1) Style - A great modern interpretation of a vintage motocross boot blended with a Mad Max style. That said, it's not over done and these could be worn under jeans/pants where ever casual shoes are appropriate. 2) Protection - The leather is thick, tough, and layer in the right places without being overly rigid. 3) Quality Construction - They appear to be a well built boot with good or better workmanship and attention to detail. CONs: 1) Sizing - Multiple issues for me in this category a) No wide width available - I normally wear a wide shoe/boot but can often wear a normal width depending on the footwear. I ordered a 1/2 size larger than normal and these boots were still way too narrow for me. The length was OK but if you have a wide foot these may not be for you. b) They run small (not talking about width here). These run at least a 1/2 size smaller than "normal". 2) Hot - this boot is NOT for summer. I wore the pair I ordered for about 15-20 minutes in my air-conditioned living room and could not wait to get out of them for the hot feet. I would only wear these in the winter or really cool temps in spring/fall. I really wanted to keep these boots. I decided to return them to avoid spending $270 on uncomfortable feet. Hey ICON - I think the attempt to provide a waterproof lower is admirable. That said, offer a summer version of this boot WITHOUT the waterproof lining. Current design will really limit sales and. Moreover, offer this boot in normal and wide widths. June 6, 2015
Killer boots, man! Pros: comfortable (break in nicely, but you wouldn't want to hike in them), waterproof (tested); looks/style; build quality is great, have been durable (used daily for 3 months & nothing is coming apart yet); protection is better than most touring/cruising boots. Cons: as other have noted, they have a tall toe box (but you will probably get used to it). The zipper & snap system, while pretty rad, can be a bit cumbersome (they are not the quickest to get on & off); not very breathable (but they are waterproof). June 1, 2015
