Icon Highway Hanky

It is no way to live: dust-choked nostrils and lungs backfiring from the spent fumes of open pipes. The Icon One Thousand Highway Hanky addresses these ‘particulate’ needs of the modern rider with a distinctly low-tech solution. A finely woven cotton outer layer combined with a microfleece lining allow the hanky to be worn as either a mask or as an insulating neck gasket. Equally adept for robbing stagecoaches, reducing inhaled dust, or preventing ride-numbing neckline drafts, the Highway Hanky provides a barrier against those that would do you harm.

Features:

  • Custom metal snaps for size adjustments
  • 100% cotton front
  • 100% polyester fleece backed

love it. got a slightly faulty one, though
the fabric around the snap started to rip the first time I took it off. I had been meaning to send it back, but I really like it and don't want to go without it while waiting on another. the fleece part is still intact, so that holds the snap in place, but the outer fabric tore right away. the snap just kind of lives in a hole under the outer layer now. I use those microfiber tube things when it's not too cold, then use the hanky when it gets to be chilly/night-time. works very well, very comfy. soft enough to be cozy, but stiff enough to stay where it needs to be. I think they should make more of these in different patterns/colors. I like the grey one; subdued is nice, as opposed to the typical Icon wackiness. most of their stuff used to be way too tacky/douchebagish for me, but they are getting better. glad some companies are starting to realize that not all motorcyclists are either plastic-mohawk-wearing, insane-clown-types who do stunts on the freeway, or fat-hippie-beardos who only ride to the nudie bar down the street. yes, a few of us actually use motorcycles as a form of transportation and just need good quality practical gear, not garishly decorated 'lifestyle accessories'. while you guys are at it, try making kevlar jeans that don't look like bedazzled lady-pants, you know, without all the embroidery, fake aging, etc. that's what I would like to see...

Works great to keep wind off face!
This works better than I expected to keep the wind off my face and my face warm while riding in cooler weather. Stylish and comfy against the face, blocks the wind, very cool. I gave 4 instead of 5 stars because, A) the green one is about 1.5 to 2 inches smaller in fit diameter. The first one I had to send back as it wouldn't fit my head and I doubt anybody but a small child could wear it. The second one was larger and I could wear it on the last snap. RevZ was awesome with the return process! The white one fits perfect with the second snap working around my neck and the first one when around my face. When putting the white one next to the green one, you could see the obvious difference in snap placement. Quality control issues I assume as your results may vary. Still, a quality item for the most part. B) the other negative is that for all the extra warmth and wind blocking properties, there is no venting of any kind which results in It being very easy to fog up your sunglasses. I ended up having my sunglasses set about a half an inch farther down my nose to allow for more airflow and less fogging.

Great style and a step-up over a regular scarf or bandana
Ultimately, it's a bandana but, it's been made very well and has multiple snaps that help it function for a biker. The material and double-sided construction block the wind and it has the usual great Icon1000 look. You can probably find cheaper options but, I doubt they'll look or work better and the extra cost is not that much in the scheme of how much most gear costs.

Grey is larger than green
The buttons are spaced apart differently to the green and are slightly larger on the grey both are warm and easy to put on and off. I use the the first or second button (Counting from right to left) on the green and the third on the grey (Counting from right to left). I wear a size small helmet.

Better than I expected
I'm a huge fan of the Icon 1000 tube scarf, so when I saw this I jumped on it to wear with my open face helmet.

This product does not disappoint. It has 3 snaps on the back depending on how big your neck is, and a nice layer of black fleece on the inside which provides added warmth.

Way better than a bandanna.

SO much more than just a hanky, and a great product overall!
I use this on Chilly rides and its great. I use it to cover from my nose to my chin under my helmet. It might seem expensive at first but it really is more than a regular hanky. The Snap buttons work great to adjust if you want it covering your face or just around your neck. The outside is waterproof and the inside is warm fleece. I also use it when i ride in the rain and it prevents my breath from fogging up the visor. SO much more than just a hanky, and a great product overall!

Best Hanky on the road!
Not only are these hankies absolutely killer looking, but they are super warm! Buttons in the back make for easy quick adjustments and great fit. The fleece on the inside is super warm and the fabric outside is durable. Price is unbeatable for what you get...I bought both patterns!

Awesome product, a must have
This thing is extremely functional, looks great and is a must have for any open faced rider. Warm, soft on the face with the fleece liner and the different size snap adjustments fits perfect and can be taken on and off with one hand.

THOUGHT IT WOULD BE A GOOD ALTERNATIVE TO A NEOPRENE FACE MASK.
SURLYRYDER on Dec 3, 2016
It might be a bit tight for some larger necked/headed folk, but after a little minor stretching this thing has become my mug's new home. Very happy with this.

Stylish bandanna with buttons. Perfect. They should all come like this.

I always wear a bandana to keep from choking down dust and exhaust while riding. This seemed like the next step up.
Bradley K on Feb 9, 2016
These are outstanding, I love the options for circumference. Comfortable, soft, warm, and does not slide off your face.
Cody F on Oct 10, 2015
I've been looking for some face protection that's just a little more than a plain ol' bandana. This seems to have just enough added features to fit the bill.

To complement my open face helmet and avoid cold while riding
M I on Mar 26, 2015
I could of chose a basic bandana, but I saw this had buttons and thought that would be easier than having to tie a bandana down. I also prefered the pattern of the green patrol version, but also wouldn't mind if the color scheme was different. Also chosen for brand name.

These work great to keep the cold, dust, bugs out of your face while riding and don't give off that 1% wannabe look like a skull mask!
Keith C on May 12, 2014
This was a throw in item to get free shipping, but i like it quite a bit and use it for snowboarding/skiing as well as cold rides. The snaps could use some more reinforcement, as one seems to be separating after only 10 uses or so, but ive moved to another snap that hopefully will last longer.
