HJC Women's CL-17 Mystic Helmet
NIce helmet and fits well.
I am very pleased with this helmet. It is comfortable and pretty. The shield is easy to remove and you can buy different colored shields to put on the helmet to customize it for you. I purchased the rainbow colored shield and it looks great on my helmet.

Ear pockets not for speakers.
I switched over the orange cl-17 Mech hunter from a Scorpion r-410. My decision was based primarily on the protection factors and the looks. First thing to note is the ear pockets are shallow. If I put speakers in them from my sena, it is very difficult for me to get my ears unfolded. I have to put the speakers under the cheek pads and have a hard time hearing them. Wind noise is pretty bad. If you want a chin curtain, do not use the one for the cl-17, it is poorly designed and ineffective. Instead you should purchase one for a cl-16. I can ride with all vents open and barely feel a breeze.

Great value for a very good helmet.
I have never owned a $600 helmet, and as a cruiser rider I may never own one. My requirements are a Snell safety rating and a good bang for the buck.
My first "real" helmet was a $200 HJC FG-17 that had a lot of nice features including Snell and pinlock visor capability. It was extremely comfortable and quite quiet. While up on the Blue Ridge Parkway, my bike slipped on some loose gravel and my helmet impacted the roadway enough to ring my bell.
I needed a replacement and didn't want to spend $200 if I could avoid it. HJC had been a great manufacturer for me, so I decided to give this one a chance when I saw it on clearance. I have been very impressed with the CL-17. It's a little bit louder and the visor is a little less UV-resistant. I can tell this because my auto-darkening glasses get more tinted in the sun. This is actually a plus for me though, because they remained perfectly clear in the FG-17 and didn't function as sunglasses.
Overall I am extremely pleased with this purchase and would buy another on in a heartbeat. True to fit, good value, very happy.

Why Pay More
Why pay more just to impress someone. This helmet has everything a $500 helmet has at a 1/3 of the price. It also has Snell rating, can't get any better than that in a safety rating. I love the quick release face shield, I can go from smoke to clear in just about 15 seconds. I ride a bagger so I carry my extra shied with me.

Get one, at least as a spare.
My 2nd CL-17, love this helmet. Jumped on this Mission helmet from Revzilla on closeout, bought the matte gray in large and 2 smoke shields for what I paid for my 1st CL-17 last year locally. Bought that one in medium thinking it would break in but it never loosened up, gave it to my wife she loves it, she plans to use it for her winter helmet with a balaclava. My new large fits snug but great, the larger shell gives me more face room and for some reason cuts down the updraft coming up from the frame of my Buell Ulysses. Wish it had more shield detents but no regrets, excellent quality/performance and Snell 2010 for a bargain price. I could go on and on but simply put the CL-17 for me is stable, well made, reasonably quiet (we wear ear plugs while touring anyway), excellent shield clarity, versatility of fit within the shell size, and my large isn't Chinese (!). Revzilla comes through again with great value and fast shipping, thanks guys.

My new HJC CL-17 Mission Helmet has been great so far, I love the styling, love how light it is, its so quiet and fits extremely firmly on my head (If you have a round face you might want to by a little larger size).
I have only one gripe in that I wish the chin strap would have been a quick connect/disconnect ratchet type. I would take a star away for that but honestly its a nit pick. I have a cheaper older helmet with a quick connect and I thought that it was awesome so why put a simple buckle and snap chin strap on such an awesome helmet I don't know.

It's OK. Wish I went with something else though
First off, I bought this helmet at a local shop, not revzilla.
I've owned this helmet for a year now and although I like it, i'm still wishing that I spent a little extra on something nicer.
~Every time I go on a 20 minute + ride I get home and I have a line on my forehead, I don't know why this is. But it's annoying and people stare at me and notice it.
~It's slightly heavy, I mean for the price it is light. But with this helmet + my sena + my go pro it is just too much for my neck to handle. The helmet alone is fine, but I wished I went with something super light to accommodate this. If you don't ride with these extras then you should be fine.
~Didn't come with a chin curtain, I was able to buy one though for it.
~The medium is usually what I wear but it was too loose on this helmet and the small fits alright, but it is a bit on the tight side.
~speaker cut outs were not large enough too. But they fit in there with a little persuasion.
-Nice aerodynamic shape
-I love the looks of the helmet
-plenty of vents, keeps head cool
All in all, it's a decent helmet. If you're only looking to spend $150 then it's almost impossible to beat it. Me personally, I wished I just pony'd up the extra $200-300 and got the RF 1200 (which I will be picking up sometime this winter).

Amazing helmet for the price
For the price of this helmet i don't think there is anything better. When I first started riding I had a knock-off Chinese helmet and it was loud, no air flow, minimal protection, and very hot and uncomfortable and I spent $80 on the thing. After that I was gifted an Arai Corsair V and that helmet was great and has everything you could ever want, but now owing this CL-17 helmet for $120 I have never been so surprised. While this helmet is not as high tech as the Arai it knocks its socks off with value. It seems insane to spend TEN times as much money for the Arai helmet when this $120 helmet is this comfortable, light, and high quality. I was nervous seeing the price tag of this helmet that it would be poor quality but I am incredibly happy with my purchase. Best $100 i have ever spent. The one and only complaint I have about this helmet is the wind noise, it is slightly too noisy but I will get over it.
