Great deal from RevZilla. Lightweight, great looking graphics, comfy interior and solid built. Shoei's interior crown is a bit more comfortable for us round'er head shaped riders but after a while, you won't notice the forehead crown contact. It will break in. Buy a tinted lens and HIGHLY RECOMMEND INSTALLING ANTI-FOG insert. Without it, helmet snug fit's fog will impaire your riding.

Live in Johannesburg, South Africa. I ordered the helemt and it was shipped to my front door in just over a week. Wore the helmet today on a long ride and it is awesome. Very quiet and very light. The locking mechanism is also extremely easy to use. The included Pinlock shield is easy to install and works very well. The HJC is replacing my older Arai and I can honestly say it is on par with Arai, which was more expensive.

Helmet is very stylish and I was shocked by how light it was. I was in between the XL and 2XL so I ordered the XL at first. However, this was slightly tight so I had to move up to the 2XL. It feels like a great helmet, has lots of vents, and plenty of open vision. I would highly recommend it.

This helmet is all around amazing. It's extremely light weight yet durable. The face shields change very easy and have a neat "cracked" setting to allow airflow but complete shielding simultaneously. The interior lining and padding is quality material and comes out easily. I like the way the visor locks into place and that it's in the front instead of side.
There's plenty of ventilation with controllable vents on top and in the mouth area plus removable chin and nose covers.
I dinged it for noise because even with all the vents closed it's fairly noisy. Also the fit is pretty tight. I wear a 7 3/4 hat size and the Large for this helmet starts feeling pretty tight once i get up to high speeds (100+) or after riding for a couple hours. Nothing i can't live with however, the light weight and maneuverability more than makes up for it.
Great intermediate helmet! However, i would recommend to anyone just starting out or to experienced riders who want to save some money over Shoei, etc.

I have been racing and riding bikes for years and have to say this is hands down one of the best helmets that I have ever owned, and (and maybe even more importantly) it was one of the most inexpensive. Despite its price its features, fit, and performance are equal to ANY helmet on the market!

I've had this helmet for a few weeks now and feel that it's about time I share my feelings on this piece of protective gear.
Though it is a racing helmet—and I was very aware of that upon purchase—I use it for street riding. The airflow is phenomenal even outside of the tuck position and even the 3/4 position. But due to this awesome airflow, there is wind noise at 45+ mph. It is not unbearable, but it is there. However, the upper vents' wheel mechanisms that control the amount of air you want to allow in help some with the noise.
Upon receiving my new helmet, I put it on. Within 10 minutes, I almost forgot that I was wearing it. It is extremely light. For me, it was a bit hard to tell the difference between it and another helmet by holding it in my hand, but the difference is completely noticeable when worn. No more sore neck.
I've yet to test out its durability—and would rather not—but if I'm ever curious I'll watch a couple of Spies' crash videos and feel satisfied.
If you are considering purchasing this helmet, then I highly recommend you take the leap and purchase whether for racing or street.

Helmet is better than advertised! Fit is great, the noise level is low. The paint design is awsome! The pictures do it no justice! Seeing and having the helmet in your hands is 100 times better than any picture! Shield locking system takes some getting used to, but that goes away quickly and you will once you wear it a few times. The seal when the shield is closed is really good. The noise is very low. I will be buying the Ben Spies Monster next!! Great helmet!

To my knowledge, the only helmet manufacturer that is currently making these shields is Bell for their Bell Star. The cost of the shield is approx $100.
