HJC RPHA 10 Lorenzo Replica Helmet 4.8 5 202 202
Excellent bang for your buck Comparable to my Arai in build quality, weight and comfort. Only down side is the lack of air flow from the mouth vent. Air flow up top is excellent, but the mouth vent /breath guard aren't that great. Otherwise, it's definitely my favorite helmet. July 20, 2015
Buy from RevZilla, Trust the Gear Geeks! I'll start with the good: This helmet is light, and comfortable! I found that air moves very well through the top and keeps my head cool. I love the pinlock ready face shield. And the Ben Spies graphic was WAY cool until it started chipping. Peripheral vision is great. Now the not-so-good I received this helmet as a gift for Christmas. It did not come from RevZilla (1st mistake#. After 3 months of sitting on the shelf, in the box until it was riding season, and 4 months of riding, I am NOT very impressed with this helmet. Right out of the box, I had to replace the chin curtain #yes the chin curtain! The cheapest replaceable piece that could have easily been caught when installed at the factory) because it wasn't sewn to the actually fastener and flapped around like a dog's tongue. HJC wouldn't replace it because I didn't have a receipt, and the store It was purchased from was out of business. the cheek pads are already so squished that the helmet is loose and wobbles on my head and it was fitted properly in the store. I inspect this lid after nearly every ride, and every day I find a new chip or scratch. My commute to work is LESS THAN A MILE, on well maintained roads, in LOW traffic. I don't hang it on the bike, I don't bang it into things, and I don't pick at it. While riding recently, the chin vent cover came off while I was opening it, bounced off the tank and is somewhere on the highway. The way it seems to be deteriorating, I'm not sure I trust it to protect my head, should I happen to come off the bike. For the pricing I would expect better shell durability. Do I think this will happen to every HJC helmet? NO Do I think there is a possibility that mine is a dud? YES. Buy From RevZilla! They are reputable, and they are fantastic to deal with! The Gear Geeks will point you in the right direction and help you make wise choices when selecting gear on nearly every budget. July 9, 2015
Above Average Helmet I would like to start off by stating this review, while including looks, is more geared towards functionality of the helmet - mainly the airflow. Riding in western VA it gets pretty hot and I needed a helmet that provided just that. I got my helmet in Matte Black and it looks great! Pros: Fitment was spot on with regards to utilizing Revzilla's sizing chart as well as prior experience with other HJC helmets. It was a bit tight, but after a few hours of riding it wears in nicely. Now the helmet is snug and I can't complain one bit on fitment. Visibility on the helmet seems fairly wide to me, but my experiences with other helmets are too far in between to be of any relevance. I can let you know that I really don't need to turn my head while riding, but I do it as a safety habit. Moreover, the visor is very clear and very resistant to scratches. I have had a few rocks - small ones - ping me while riding, but no permanent damage is visible or noticed. It also cleans off very well without any issues such as paint or bugs. The agility of your head with this helmet on is very well also. It is fairly light feeling on my head and I don't have any issues on my sportbike at multiple riding positions. What I really like about this helmet versus other HJC helmets is that the streamline is very nice. At higher speeds I do not notice the wind knocking my head all over the place like other cheaper HJC models. The addition of the chin curtain is a very nice perk. Even if you go with another brand or model, make sure that it includes a chin curtain. I rode with and without it and you can definitely tell a difference in the way the air passes over your head. Cons: Airflow is where I have the most concern. I don't feel like this helmet has enough airflow to cool me down while street riding. This helmet seems to be built for the 3/4 or fully tucked rider so if you aren't in those positions the majority of your time riding I feel there are other helmet options for you within this price range. While this helmet is fairly good at airflow through the chin vent to defog the visor (even when fully closed and pin-locked) the top vents do not seem to flow much cool air inward to force the hot air out. Only other con I have is that the chin curtain has fabric that covers you chin. This is great to help reduce noise and keep your chin warm during colder days. While the minor inconvenience of putting it on and taking it off is not the issue, doing so actually breaks the curtain. It bends each time you put on or remove the helmet and eventually it breaks each time. I have currently a warranty order with Revzilla and can only say the best things about them as a company. My only suggestion to you is that you cut off the fabric and leave the chin curtain on. I glued the two pieces and am using it until the replacement arrives and it seems to work out this way. The curtain still seems to function as it should and that minor inconvenience is alleviated. However, it defeats the purpose that HJC developed it for so I would suggest that their R&D take a look into that and see how to best alleviate it. Overall I would recommend this product, but would caution the airflow piece. August 17, 2015
Mid-range price, excellent quality I ride virtually every day of the week, so having a quality helmet was absolutely essential. Unfortunately I can't afford / couldn't bring myself to spend $750 on the big name helmets. This HJC was a perfect compromise; not overly pricey, but when you wear it, it feels very well designed and solid. The padding is firm and has just the right amount of give, the shape is natural. It is quite light, and won't strain your neck on those longer rides. My only issue is the venting; this summer I've ridden on days that are in the mid to upper 90s, and the venting really only provides decent cooling when you're upwards of 40mph. I have yet to ride in cool weather, but the helmet visor and vents seal nicely and I can't imagine having any major issue with a neck scarf in conjunction. Overall, a great buy, and a great option for people who are looking for quality without the insane price tag. August 17, 2015
Amazing helmet at a great cost. Purchased the RPHA-10 Combust to replace a Bell RS-1 that i had an accident in. Difference to me was night and day. Graphics alone make people stare because it looks like custom paint that shimmers from a ghostly teal to violet. Fitment was very snug which I liked a lot, quality did seem quite a bit higher than the bell with nicer looking air vents that function great, a middle snapped visor which i found to be easier to open and close at Speed compared to the typical side locked visor which sometimes would close crooked, and far better helmet internals which are soft, plush, and stay cool. Ordered helmet with standard shipping and it arrived next day afternoon! Overall Was very impressed with my first purchase from RevZilla, and love the helmet alot. Will plan on buying from them again. August 4, 2015
Great Helmet, The Video Review Under-sells It I was reluctant to buy this helmet based on the Revzilla video, which was luke-warm. But this particular version was on closeout, so I grabbed it. Regardless of print, it's the RPHA 10 helmet. I've got about 1,100 miles in it, in a very hot North Carolina summer, and I fully recommend it. First, it's not round. I have a long-ish, 23.5 in. head and the Large helmet fitment is perfect. Less expensive helmets tend to be round-ish and heavy. This helmet is neither. While the cheek pads are tight against my face, I don't have pressure or a headache after wearing the helmet, including for 4-6 hour rides. While I mostly ride shield up on non-highways, the airflow works as well as more expensive helmets. Lastly, the weight difference between this helmet and more expensive ones is negligible, especially while riding on open road. The bottom line is that this is a great helmet. You can spend more, but you won't get more. August 2, 2015
Excellent helmet Great track helmet. Very good air flow, although doesn't feel good getting back in it after sweating for 20min. July 27, 2015
Outstanding look This helmet looks and feels awesome. Interior is high quality and easily removable. July 17, 2015

Jonathan P: It matches my motorcycles color and Love HJC helmets they fit real nice Jun 9, 2015
Joseph G: I neeeeeded to have it Apr 1, 2015
Earkes S: I went to a local store searching for a new helmet and i never bought a HJC helmet, but once i tried it on i loved how light this specific helmet was, and how well it fit my narrow head. I went to this website that a friend of mine told me about and found it cheaper then on the German market...revzilla will get all my future business. Apr 24, 2014
travis b: very sexy!!! Apr 1, 2014
Dirk K: Needed a helmet that was rated for the track. Had friends recommend the RPHA 10 helmet lines. Couldn't love them more. Features and comfort are well worth the money. Aug 29, 2013
A shopper asked: If in a raining situation , will i be neat and dry if i close out all the vents? Aug 31, 2013
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (1) No (0)
Jerome B: Completely dry? No. But no premium race-level helmet will keep your head completely dru. The top of the rpha-10 helmet has 2 holes, which lead straight to the inside of the helmet for breathability, wicking of inner odor and moisture, and aerodynamic function. I have been stuck in pooring rain for 2+ hours twice and my head was barely wet (just a few drops).

The holes can easily be taped, considering they are about 1/8 inch in size each.

The only down side, if any, of this helmet are the 2 holes on the top. But the light weight, great wind deflecting, easy visor system, and bang for the buck premium helmet pricing vastly outweighs the one "downside".

Hope this helps!

Kelly H: If you close the chin and to cents you will stay dry.But this us a sport bike helmet, and sport bikes have almost no rain protection for your head. you will get wet, but the rain will not be coming through vents, it will be down your back and chest first. I have been stuck in the rain. But by the end of it all of me was at least a little damp. Sep 5, 2013

Jordan F: Yes, it's a very comfortable & dry helmet. I got caught in a bad rain storm and when I got home I was soaked from my neck down. From the neck up I was completely dry. Sep 4, 2013

Mihailo D: I have never been in a raining situation with this helmet, but IMO you should be fine and dry. Only concern are two vents that can't be close, but I don't think much rain will go inside throughout those. Sep 4, 2013

Ondre C: I've yet to ride during the rain since I've had this helmet so I wouldn't know. I can definitely feel the difference when the vents are closed though. Regardless, you'll still look good Sep 6, 2013

A S asked: One question, i am going to buy this helmet no doubt about it. But on the size chart i am a 22 on the dot... Would i buy a small or should i go with a medium? I know i wear a medium AGV but the area just behind the cheeks are a little loose. I have a narrow face so im not sure which to get and i know the exchange policy is painless, would just like to get it right the first time. Jun 24, 2014

Adam K: Yea a medium sounds like it will be a good fit for you,I've had medium in avg before and found them tight too,but this hjc is a better fit, only thing is it feels tight at first but wear it for a few days and it will be shaped to your head, and just in case you live over seas from revzilla, make sure they mark the delivery down as a "gift"!!! They put my helmet down as merchandise and I got hit with a )€80 import charge which is about $100!!! But other then this i am still very happy with this helmet Jun 24, 2014

Jesse C: This helmet fit is amazing, I'm a chubbier cheek guy it seems :-/ but the pads fit nicely and not squishing my face.. I have a large head and had hjc before and stayed with same size, this one is by far comfortable and nicer fit, as well as feeling lighter! The pads are very soft and feel just right... I would stay with the sizing chart it worked well...my face is narrow also but the cheeks... If that concerned order smaller, than u can go up in size to be sure... Jun 25, 2014
Reply to Jesse Good answer? Yes (0) No (0)
Earkes S: I would go with the small helmet. One thing I like about HJC helmets is that there more narrow for folks who don't have round heads. Go with a small you will like it. This Helmet is not as quiet as I thought it would be for the price, but it makes up for it in fit, comfort, and ventilation...great purchase! Jun 25, 2014

Clement N: If you want a snug fit, definitely go with a Small as the cheekpads are quite soft. I am usually sized right in the middle of most Mediums, but my helmet could be a bit more snug. Jun 24, 2014

A shopper asked: One of the reviews mentioned that this helmet is good for track but not so for street use (the vents will only do justice at high speed) . I dont really track on my bike and mainly use it on urban settings (stop and go traffic). I also use it mainly during summer so i'm wondering if this helmet would suit summer riding on urban setting, given that i wont be going high speed most of the time? Oct 9, 2013

Minh N: I also only use this helmet for street, wouldnt find any problem with the ventalation. It is pretty decent if you ride over 40km/h.if below that u could open the visor. The head angle also has quite an impact on the ventalation.if you tilt your head down a bit like racing position, it will suck more air. abel r: Don't let the track reference scare you off! I own both the Megello and the RPHA 10 and the air flow us just fine. On a super hot day if I'm not getting the full flow of air I just open all the vents and crack the shield open one click, it won't come flying open so don't worry but it will give you more air flow. (No high speeds when doing this) Comfort and air flow is good and the graffix will surely please you! Buy it! Oct 9, 2013

Patrick M: I doesn't have much venting when you go slow. But normally when I ride in traffic, I have my visor open so its still cool enough for me. This helmet is a masterpiece. You can't even notice its weight on your head. All I have to say is its worth the money. Oct 9, 2013

Carlton S: This helmet provides ample airflow with multiple vent adjustments. Comfort, reliability, and fit makes this an all around head protection equipment that performs consistently in the Miami humid and hot environment. Well recommended. Oct 9, 2013

Ondre C: As much as I would love recommend it because this is a beautiful helmet, I wouldn't recommend it for stop and go traffic. The airflow system is designed more for medium to high speed rides (track, canyon, freeways). Oct 9, 2013

john m. m: I got my HJC RPHA about a month ago just before leaving on a 1000 trip around PA. I didn' have time to get a tinted shield so the clear was my only choice. I experienced some rain, some night riding (very little) and a lot of bright sun. I used a pair of polorized sunglasses mostly. Riding west into the setting sun has always created a problem which I solved by using a piece of colored tape across the top 1/4 of the visor - great help. The problem with tinted shields is at night - you just can't see details. It's almost a toss-up but sometimes you need both on a trip. Hope that helps. I also used a pair of clear safety glasses with 1.5 magnifiers for looking at details on maps. Jul 23, 2014

Helmet is very light fits great and flows air like crazy.

I have higher priced helmets that have trouble measuring up to the RPHA :)
