first helmet
This is the first helmet I have owned, so I don't really have anything to compare it to. However I do really enjoy the helmet. It bothered my ears at first while taking the helmet off but now that it is worn it, it fits great. Bit pricey but it is well worth it.

Best helmet I've had
I'm really happy with this helmet. I had Scorpion EXO-1000, Joe Rocket RKT, Bilt Explorer, Shoei RF-1000 and so far this helmet beats all of them. It is extremely light weight and quiet. I installed BT receive to listen to music w/o any problem with comfort and noise. I will have to say it's a well made helmet. I threw the liners into the washers a few times and they are still intact, but I wash the liner by hands now, it's cleaner that way. I put a sun glass on once and it's tight. Recommend getting a smoke visor instead. The fog shield is truly awesome. All other helmets got fogged up in cold days, except this one. I wear this helmet everyday and weekend rides up to 6 hrs w/o any discomfort. The only upgrade I think HJC should do is installing the quick release instead of using double D-rings. That would attract more people who love lots of features from the helmet. If you haven't bought one, get it, you won't regret. It fit just like Anthony said in the video. Enjoy.

A Great Helmet for a Great Price
This is a great quality helmet that is DOT and SNELL certified for a great price. It flows air well through the mouth and top vents. The liner in super comfortable and easily removable for washing which is a plus. The shield has a great seal which keeps out water when getting caught in the rain. One issue the helmet has is fogging, but that is only if you do not install the pinlock insert. The helmet feels secure at high speeds and there is minimal buffeting. The best part is that the black/orange buzzsaw graphic matches my KTM perfectly!

First helmet in 15 years...
Just bought a Yamaha FZ-09 and the RPHA Buzzsaw with the similar color metallic orange. Ive been out of the cycling world for 15 years, so everything is so much more high tech than my old Arai helmets. I have a 22 inch head, so I went with the small, which is quite tight, but I'm hoping it will "wear in" a little over time. So far I am impressed with the quality, quietness of this helmet, but I'm no pro.

Louder than expected for $350 helmet
This helmet fit a little snug when I first purchased it but after about 2 months, the pads seem to have compressed more than I would think and now it's actually a little loose. Also it is noticebaly louder than the Scorpion Exo 500 I owned and an older Fulmar helmet on the same cruiser. Lastly, I purchased a mirrored face shield from another website and the mirrored coating has just about completely rubbed off after 2 months. There is NO durability with the mirror coating whatsoever and its not even from scratches. It rubbed off with water and microfiber cloth when I had to clean bugs off.

Great for the price.
The only other helmet i've worn is a too small, super super old, arai, so not sure how this helmet relates to other ones on the market right now. But anyway here goes:

The Good: It's SUPER comfy. good lord it's comfy. It fits well in all the right places and no hot spots. I was worried because i tried on an FG-17 and wondered if this would be too small since some said this model runs smaller than the others but it fits perfect. Cheek pads are a little tighter, but they're supposed to be, it's a track inspired helmet, i wouldn't want it looser. Top vents work great, can feel it through the hair which is real nice. And it just looks ridicu-sweet. I want to go riding just to have the thing on.

The Bad: I really just have two complaints, one more than the other. 1st and foremost, it's a LOUD helmet. Like I still think i'll be wearing earplugs level loud. For being tested in a wind tunnel for so long, you would think they'd have noticed that. But i guess you have to give something up for the mid range price instead of premium $600 or up. 2nd, and just more of a quip, the chin vent doesn't really seem to do much. I found myself checking during the ride to see if it was open or not, and couldn't tell the slightest difference either way. granted i live in colorado, early spring ride at dusk, and only got up to about 55mph, so that might be it. I'll see if it makes any more difference once the temp starts reaching the 90-100's instead of just the 40-50's and higher speeds.

Overall, love it and would recommend. A few quips, it being loud is a biggie, but for the price, you can't beat it.

Crash Tested
Well....it did its job. Lowsided at 30mph just a few weeks after purchase, and smacked my head into the ground something fierce. I walked away with just a mild concussion: my friend I was riding with was terrified I was going to have serious head trauma after watching me hit my head so hard, but all I left with was just a bit of a headache. You get what you pay for! That Snell rating might have really saved me from serious problems. I was real sad having to toss it after the crash with that hefty price tag, but you can't put a price on your brain.

Feature wise, it was a pretty solid helmet. Really good venting, visibility was good, wasn't too heavy, and the inside padding was super comfortable once you got it on.

Only real problem I had was it was a bit small for my head despite measuring and re-measuring my head about 5 times before buying; it favors the longer oval head. I was a real struggle getting it on, especially because I have several ear piercings and they like to catch on the padded inserts.

If you have the right shaped head, I would highly recommend it! Ride safe!

Good helmet
Was reluctant about spending that kind of money on a helmet, but glad that I did. The buzzsaw is comfortable and looks good. The top vents work very well, the front one works ok. The foam padding on the inside is very soft and I don't mind wherein it for hours. I would recommend thus helmet to others and I would by another one if needed.

The biggest reason was the graphic. Secondly, I know HJC makes a fantastic helmet at a price that doesn't shatter your wallet, just bends it a little. Lastly, I've tried it and several other models and outside of SHARK helmets it had the best interior lining.

A S on Sep 12, 2014
Does this helmet have inserts for an add on Bluetooth communications kit? (ie. speakers, mic, etc...)
A shopper on Jul 15, 2014
BEST ANSWER: I purchased the Sena SMH10R Bluetooth/ intercom communicator and installed it in the Buzzsaw Helmet. It works well, the speakers fit fine and the microphone works well! I have a small sized helmet and there is just enough room for the speakers to fit....and I am borderline small/medium in the HJC size chart. The helmet did not come with any specific inserts for speakers, etc
I have a Kawasaki Ninja in the Burnt Candy Orange color. Does this Orange match the Kawasaki Orange?
A shopper on Oct 10, 2014
BEST ANSWER: It's not an exact match, but it's likely the closest you'll get.
Does the buzzsaw helmet come as shown in picture? or does it have HJC plastered all over it as in other pics ive seen?
Chelsey M on Jun 12, 2015
BEST ANSWER: The only HJC logo on this helmet is a tiny one maybe an inch wide by half inch tall, located on the rear of the "fin". it's barely noticeable at all. I own the orange one and its such a beautiful helmet!
Is this the RPHA 10 Plus version?
To my knowledge, the Plus version has a new visor, pinlock, windbreaker, chin curtain as well as different pins.
A S on Jan 10, 2014
BEST ANSWER: I am not sure if its called plus version, but l can assure you it has all the things you mentioned above including pinlock, chin curtain, different pins & the windbreaker.. It is also very comfortable, light and highly effective even at extreme speeds of about 180 mph = 290 km/h.. I recommend it
I have a hjc cl-16. How does this helmet fit as compared to that. I wear a large in the cl-16 model. I was told that this style runs a little smaller in size and I may need a xl due to the close nose fit?
A shopper on Dec 9, 2013
BEST ANSWER: Yes absolutely, l too usually have a size large for helmets, but was more comfortable with XL on HJC helmet. The main problem lies at the accessory part covering the nose, where size large pushes against my nose at high speeds, whilst is comfortable with XL size. Fortunatel this part is removable so the problem isn't bothering me as much now...
I wear a size Small in AGV, how does the sizing of HJC RPHA compare to that?
