HJC IS-17 Genesis Helmet
Great sub $200 dollar helmet
I bought this helmet for a number of reasons, first the integrated sun shield is a must. There is no substitute for not needing to wear sunglasses under your visor. For those that are considering tinted visors instead, just wait until you want to block out the wind and keep debris from you eyes, but its either; nighttime riding, cloudy, under an overpass, fogged. The integrated sun shield allows you to use the always cover your eyes, while using the clear visor during those times above when you want to see every aspect of the road to avoid potholes and such, but also keep your eyes clear and blocked or on those sunny days, or if you want both. Great quality helmet, for a great price. And the matte black looks awesome!

This helmet has everything I was looking for. The internal sun visor is great. It deploys and retracts smoothly. I wore a 3/4 helmet before choosing a ff helmet and have to wear prescription glasses so I wanted a helmet that had the visor for day time and clear shield for night since I don't have prescription sunglasses. The fit is good. A little tight on the cheekbones but with time it has molded more to my face. I do not feel any pressure points on my head when wearing it. Airflow is good but then anything with vents is better than what I was wearing before. Road noise is minimal compared to the 3/4 helmet I wore even with a bubble shield. Overall great product for the price since I was looking for something around the $200 mark.
Revzilla was easy to work with and navigate through the options. Amazingly fast shipping. No problems whatsoever.

Good value, sunshield is nice
This is my second helmet, replacing an older HJC.
Bad; It is WAY louder than the old one. I now ride with earplugs if I'm going more than 10-15 miles. The cooling vents do almost nothing. The internal sunshield is way too light.
Good: It's not possible to forget your sunglasses. I use the visor during nearly all daylight hours and wish it was darker, but it's still a nice feature. Rarely am I bothered enough to put on sunglasses as well. Helmet does not carry Snell or ECE ratings, but does wonderfully in the UK SHARP test (assuming the UK and US versions are the same, which I do). The pattern strikes a perfect balance between hi-viz and style. HJC makes different cheek pads easily available for not too much money, so you can customize the fit. I have an XL head and XXL cheeks apparently.
HJC is always good value for the money. I was willing to pay much more, but the HJC felt the most comfortable, and had more features. It's possible the wind noise would be less of an issue on the higher end products. I ride a naked bike with an upright riding position, and I will say that when I lean forward into a more 'sport' position, the noise is not as bad.

Love our new helmets. Our old helmets were HJCs and these are much lighter. It was very easy to install our blue tooth device and the sun visor is great! A lot of reviews talked about it not being dark enough but we like the tint. Great looking helmets too!

I love this helmet but...
So first off, this is my first helmet purchase. I ordered it with the pinlock insert and the chin curtain. It arrived in a timely manner (three days after I ordered it). I love the graphics. I think the detents on the visor are awesome and love the slight pop-up on the first detent. Also love the center positioned visor lock. I wore it around the house for an hour or two to make sure it would be comfortable. I ordered a medium and it is pretty snug but I think it probably should be. No real noticeable uncomfortable positions other than I felt like it was squeezing my cheeks a bit but I believe that would dissapate as the pads wore in, or I could order smaller cheek pads. I also wear glasses, and feel that they were in a weird position on my face with the cheek pads pushing them up behind my ears but it wasn't bad enough that it bothered me when I got used to it after a few minutes. As I was wearing it around the house, my glasses fogged up before either the visor or sun-shield did. Note this was also without the pinlock insert installed and with all the vents closed and the visor locked down. I think I can thank that breath deflector for that.
Now, the one bad thing about the helmet. This is something I was concerned about and have seen in multiple reviews: the mechanism for the sun-shield is rather faulty. It seems the spring-loaded aspect of it was carried out poorly. Whether this be because something got inside and clogged it I don't know. When retracting the shade, it didn't retract all the way which meant I had to reach back and manually pull it back the rest of the way. After playing with it for awhile, hoping there was some debris or something clogging it up, it stopped working all together. I will be exchanging this helmet for the same one, hoping I just got a bad one or something.

Nice features but noisy
One bad thing about full face helmets is you can't put a sun visor bill on them, which is really nice when you're facing a low sun. The internal sun visor helps this quit a bit. But the spring doesn't retract the visor completely so you have to open the main visor to push up the sun visor. This helmet is actually quieter with the main visor up which thankfully doesn't catch the wind like open visors usually do. The pin lock is a nice deal.

It good helmet.
It is a good helmet, ears a bit annoying to use more than one hour. It is also noisy.
