HJC IS-17 Cheek Pads 4 5 1 1
Needed different Cheek pad width than stock I usually wear a Medium helmet. The IS-17 Medium felt fine with the exception of the cheek pads being too tight on my ears. Make sure to check the width of the cheek pads. If the helmet feels too tight you need thinner pads. March 3, 2014

A shopper asked: How do I know what size pads I have in the medium helmet? I want to go down a bit as they are too tight. Sep 24, 2014

Brent M: Snap out 1 of the cheek pads, it will have a tag on the underside with the size (such as M/XL 30mm). The 30mm is the thickness of the cheek pad, if you want a looser fit you need a thinner cheek pad (number lower than your current pad). If you have a Med. helmet most likly the pads are 30mm...the only pads thinner are for the 2XL helmets and they are 25mm but I beleive all pads are interchangable between the IS 17 helmets Sep 25, 2014

Gary R: The medium helmet should come with 35mm pads. If you take the pads out you will find the size marked on the back of one of them, then you can order the next size down. I have found that the pads will compress a bit with time so take that into account. Sep 24, 2014

Steve W: To go down in thickness you will need to buy XL cheek pads. the thickness should be listed in the description of the cheekpads. Sep 25, 2014

A shopper asked: The cheek pads in my medium IS-17 helmet are to tight. what can I do? Jul 6, 2014

Steve W: If cheek pads are too tight you can put them under a couple of heavy books for a couple days. If they are extremely tight then you could do what I did and purchase thinner cheek pads. Next size up from M would be the ones for the XL @ 25mm. They can be found on Revzillas site. Jul 7, 2014
