Warning - Not a multi-use item!
This item does exactly what they advertise. It completely eliminated fogging in the field of vision area on the helmet visor. But, what they don't tell you up front is this; 1 - you cannot use the insert while riding at night. There is way too much glare caused by the insert and headlights and street lights reflect all over the lens. 2 - you cannot wear polarize sunglasses while using the insert. It appears the insert is also polarize to some degree and all you can see while wearing polarized glasses is a large rainbow in your field of vision. So with that said, in cool mornings and cool evenings it works perfect as a stand alone unit to eliminate fogging up. Just be sure you carry a spare face shield if you ride after dark or want to wear sunglasses (if no sun visor is part of your helmet). Still think it a good product.

Long-term (90 day) review
90 days in and the pinlock is doing its job. Ridden into work on a couple rainy days and no fogging whatsoever.

Awesome Product
The insert lens works exactly as advertised. I've worn my full face helmet in hot and extremely cold weather and have zero fog. I've even tried to fog it by breathing heavy in my helmet and still get no fog. If anyone is having problems with fog On their shield, I highly recommend this product. So far I've only seen clear lenses but that should not matter if you have a colored face shield since it goes inside the shield. Overall I am extremely happy with the lens insert.

A Necessity for RPHA's!
It works just as advertised. The RPHA is a great helmet, but with terrible fogging issues. The pin lock shield remedies this competent, resulting in zero fog. Equipped with this, the RPHA is arguably the best bang for your buck race helmet.

Works as advertised.
There's nothing much to say about a pinlock lens. If your full face helmet fogs, the pinlock lens will keep it from fogging. It works, and I'm glad to have it.

Pinlock is the only way to go when it comes to keeping my shield from fogging up. Doesn't matter how cold it is outside, the pinlock on my hjc rpha 10 never fogs up.

Cause my HJC helmet is holding up great after 3 years of use. But the insert is difficult to see through now. I ordered a new visor and pinlock insert instead of a whole new helmet.
Justin E on Sep 5, 2015
Morning temps in the 40s, result in annoying fog on visors. Pinlock is the perfect solution, have ridden down to mid-30s fahrenheit temps with zero fog. Bought one for both colors of shield.

Earkes S on May 23, 2014
These really work to COMPLETELY eliminate visor fogging. Here in SW Florida it is so humid most visors will fog with the first breath once the helmet goes on. Not so with my pinlock-equipped RPHA-10 helmet. Good stuff.
Samuel K on Apr 3, 2014
The Pinlock insert came with my RHPA 10 helmet, and it works wonders. It is very clear, and it keeps the fog out. I ordered a second insert to go with my dark smoke shield.
Chadrick D on Feb 23, 2014
Because it keeps my shield from fogging up on my RPHA 10

Allows for me to keep the visor closed at all times and not worry about the visor getting fogged up. One less thing to worry about while riding the bike :)
Maria G on Dec 30, 2013
You need the anti-fog, dude.
Jim M on Dec 14, 2013
Even though I live in South Texas, it still gets cold. OK, I admit it's not below freezing here very often, but we have a damp cold that feel 20 degrees colder than the actual temp, especially when the wind chill is factored in. I need this to keep the visor clear.
Lawrence Z on Dec 3, 2013

Richard A on Jul 17, 2016
The image looks different than the Pinlock insert included with a RPHA-10, does this Pinlock have 1 or 2 notches?
A S on Aug 6, 2014
BEST ANSWER: When I bought mine a year and a half ago, it had 2 notches but they may have changed the design since then.
I'm confused as to how this product works, anybody care to explain it to me?
Connor B on Sep 29, 2015
BEST ANSWER: The flexible plastic insert has a soft gasket around the edge which seals to your visor, creating a small insulating airgap. Making in effect a double pane window. The outer surface of your visor is in contact with the cold air outside, but your hot, humid breath doesn't come in contact with the inner surface of the cold visor, but the warmer surface of the flexible pinlock insert so fog doesn't form. Works like a charm!
I just installed this in my RPHA 10 Pro's visor, and there appear to be what look like "bubbles" where the pinlock insert is coming into contact with the visor. Is this correct?
NickFZ07 on Feb 1, 2016
BEST ANSWER: ive had the same issue, but took it off reapplied it and it was ok. although it does not impede your vision when riding, it should not be like that
Does anyone know when there will be, or if there is,a smoke (dark preferrably) color insert for the RPHA-10 helmet?
A shopper on Oct 20, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I think there is one. Out of stock usually. Clear on a Smoke shield worked better for me.
Hi, does it fits on a HJC IS-MAX II? Thanks!
