HJC FG-17 Chin Curtain
does what I want it to do.
I ride a 1980 kz1000, it has no windscreen of any kind. my helmet is a HJC CL-17 which fits appropriately snug on my head. At highway speed the wind makes my helmet float up on my head which makes for a great distraction.
wont be too hot in the summer
cuts down on wind
keeps my helmet from floating, below 100 mph (main reason for purchase)
installation hurt my fingers (solution: don't be a baby)
tends to be annoying when taking your helmet on and off
wants to slowly uninstall itself over many times of taking the helmet on and off. (solution: glue it in if you must)

Just need a little elbow grease
Wasn't sure I was installing currently until I looked up reviews on Amazon for this product. I was assured that you just have to jam it into the seam between padding and helmet exterior.
Have yet to try it out on the road.

Got You Covered
This little guy gets the job done just right. For the price it rocks.

Back for the buck
The shipping cost more than the actual part but it's worth the money. My helmet is whole lot quieter and peaceful now. Wind noise is reduced from an already quiet helmet. Great.

Didn't block much wind noise w/ Sena SMH10
Like the title says... I got this to block out wind noise for the intercom. It really doesn't do anything, I can't tell the difference.
I can however hold my hand beneath my helmet and block out wind noise resulting in perfect intercom quality. Had this been made out of a solid material rather than a webbing it would do better for me. I may still end up just stitching some neoprene to mine to see if I can fix it.

Poor Quality / not the same as image above
i feel robbed when i buy something after viewing it in the above picture and then i receive something different. what i expected was a foam block with mesh covering and a stiff rim to attach to the helmet... instead.. what i got was a thin mesh lining you can see straight through and a plastic rim. i can see straight through it. no foam.. so air can simply press its way STRAIGHT through. (originally the intended purpose for my purchase) i truly do feel robbed. but as mentioned above.. this is the ONLY chin curtain for this helmet (to the best of my knowledge) so im gonna have to deal with it for now.

What else can you do
If you want a chin curtain for the fg17 you don't have much choice. This curtain fits poorly and is cheaply made, it's doesn't snap in or fit securely. I have to make sure it's in place every time I put the helmet on. It's a thin no frills chin curtain that cost $5. Honestly as long as it keeps dirt and road debris from blinding me at speed I'll be ok with it until the day a better options comes up... If it ever does
