Not much of a difference
I bought the XL cheek pads to replace the large size cheek pads that came with my helmet. The thinner pads didn't seem much thinner at all. I thought that the next size would be a much more noticeable difference.

Gilberto T: My head is just proportioned differently. Ive tried xxl helmets and they are too lose on me and xl is a little too snug so I opted to try the bigger cheek pads and found my perfect fit.Oct 18, 2014
Chance M: The standard 30mm cheekpads don't fit tightly enough on my face, so I ordered one size thicker.
NOTE: I found these cheekpads online for US$24.99 on another site, but I didn't want to go through the hassle of getting a price match for only $0.20.Sep 24, 2014
Robert B: Bought a HJC CL-17 and love it. Cheek pads were to restricting and hoping the thinner pads will make the difference.Aug 1, 2014
ERICA F: I purchased the xsmall pads because my helmet was a little loose. These pads helped for a while but I eventually had to purchase a smaller helmet.Jun 30, 2014
Don A: I bought the cl17 in 2xl thinking I needed the 2xl size. I really wish I bought the helmet here so that I could get the right size (medium according to the chart). Now i have to get some thicker pads so that my helmet doesn't just slip on to my head.Mar 13, 2014
A shopper asked:Hi, I bought the helmet HJC CL-17 Mission size Large. The cheek pads are a bit tight so I would like to buy cheek pads that may be not as thick. Could you tell me what size should I get? Thank youJul 11, 2014
Casey S:Hello. I bought the cl-17 about a month ago in x-large after trying it on at a local shop knowing the cheek pads were too tight (very uncomfortable). I bought the xxl pads and it fits comfortable now but not too loose. Combined price for both items was cheaper than helmet alone at the local shop. Definitely recommend. Nicolas M:I went with the xxl cheek pads, my measurements are large but I got those Kanye west cheeks so the xl were still too tight. The xxl are snug but not uncomfortable for me, hope this helps you.Jul 11, 2014
A shopper asked:I have a CL-17 size LG. I want a tighter fit on the cheeks so is my only option to get the XS pads? Is there any difference other than the thickness? XS pads in a LG helmet seems like they would be too small even if they're thicker.Jul 31, 2014
Gordon D asked:I have a medium helmet that fits well but, I have large cheeks. However, I am not sure what size cheek pads to get. should I get large cheek pads or smaller cheek pads? Which size would have smaller thinner pads that would add a more comfortable fit for a person with a wider larger cheek size?Apr 17, 2014
