As strictly a canyon rider I wanted more protection than a half glove most of the guys around here wear. The price is eye opening but the quality and material are top notch. This glove has almost every kind of animal hide imaginable even stingray which is one of the most abrasion resistant skins out there. I wear a size 8 which is a medium and have skinny fingers as well but they fit great for me. There is a break in process because when I first put them on and open/closed my fist it made my pinky knuckles pop. I soaked them in water, put my hand in them to get a good form, then removed them gently to keep the shape and let them air dry overnight which helped. I've used the finger wiper which is pretty decent but what I like most is the fact the the palm doesn't bunch up on the grips which gives you a better feel on the controls. Some folks seem to complain about some of the palm material coming off but that's just from you riding with them which is referred to as normal wear and tear. An interesting note with these gloves is that you can ride in these from 60-100+F temps with no issues which surprised me greatly. A very versatile glove with top notch protection and fit. You'll have these for a long time and won't have to worry about the leather blowing out if you stick your hand out on a crash with all quality material they've used to prevent that.
Yes, I recommend this product.

I just purchased my second pair. I had to replace the first due to a crash with a bear. The gloves did their job and protected my hands. No injuries to fingers or hands.
I really like the stingray skin and attention to protection.

The Phantom is a well made, snug fitting glove, with good feel transmitted through the palm. As compared to my prior gloves bought from a chain shop, the Phantoms are much more securely fastened (even though both had wrist straps and gauntlet closures) and a bit less "tranformer-like." The pre-curved glove takes a bit of adjustment, and the thin palm does not grip my throttle quite the same way that my old glove did, so I have some transition to get through. Straight out of the box the gloves were snug, with my fingers right at the end of glove; I'm assuming they'll stretch just a bit to give a little breathing room without being sloppy. But time will tell.

The only thing I'm docking on this is for comfort. I am a new rider and first pair of gloves and bike. It hurts on the outside of the palm area in the meaty area under the pinky. I'm not sure because I'm putting my weight on the handlebars and gloves. I know it hurts due to the fact there is a raised area or thickness where the ray skin is and the fact I'm pressing my weight on the bars it puts a lot of pressure and wear on this one particular area. In terms of protections I feel protected, but haven't gone down yet. It's also well ventiliated. Oh another thing is it hurts just squeezing and holding the throttle for so long. I don't know because the glove is not broken in yet, but still feels pretty stiff. I have 600 miles on them over maybe 3 weeks, but maybe riding has been 10 days out of those 3 weeks.

Held Phantoms are the best thing you can put on your hands for protection on the track or street.
Measured across my hand like the Held site says and when I got my size 8 they fit perfectly. The fingers are narrow which so are mine so they fit perfectly minus the thumb being just a little bit to long but nothing major there.
The quality on these gloves is top notch and you can tell they pay attention to detail. The roo leather feels great and the protection is amazing. The wrist adjustments are nicely placed and help keep the gloves from going anywhere.
Also like how the left hand has a rubber stripe to help get bugs and water off your shield, very nice little addition.
If you are serious about protecting yourself then I would buy these gloves. A broken hand will cost more than 300 dollars.
For the guy that says order a size larger I would disagree and say he either didn't measure or measured wrong.

Very nice gloves which break in after 2 or three rides. I have short fingers, so the pinky has some extra fabric at the end, which is my only real con, however it doesn't seem to affect my riding at all. They don't feel cheap or flimsy in my opinion.
Pros Comfortable, Rugged, Fashionable

From Croatia
I have crashed twice on Grobnik race track in the last two years, with similar speeds--close to 100 mph. First time wearing a 100$ Suomi gloves. Result was 4 cracked fingers (pinkie and ring fingers on both hands) with a lot of bleeding and a lot of pain in finger joints that lasted a couple of months. Gloves disintegrated completely (but even if they did not) I would have thrown them away. Second time, just 14 days ago, in Phantoms, I walked away (actually -- limped away) without a scratch, at least where my hands were concerned. The rest of my body did not fare that well :-). The gloves survived as well, and are good to be used again on the track. A bit of scuffing is visible all around, but the only real damage is that about 1 cm of hem on one gauntlet is torn off. Fortunately this is just a cosmetic problem.

HeldWhile most gloves sold in the US are offered in alpha sizes (Small, Medium, Large, etc), Held gloves are sold in numeric glove sizes. The most accurate way to choose a glove size is to measure your hands using the directions and charts below. To get an idea of what Held Glove sizes correspond to in typical american gloves, a conversion guide is included below just to get you started in the right direction.

Held Size Estimated Men's Size
6 – 6 1/2 XS
7 – 7 1/2 SM
8 – 8 1/2 MD
9 – 9 1/2 LG
10 XL
11 2XL
12 3XL

Steps to Measure For Held Gloves

  1. Use a flexible measuring tape to measure your hand in inches.
  2. Measure around your hand, behind the knuckles, not including the thumb.
  3. Take an accurate, snug measurement.
  4. Measure both hands and use the largest measurement.
  5. Compare your measurement to the size charts below

Held Sizing Guide

Held Glove Fitment Tips

Held gloves should fit snugly when new. They will stretch out during break in and form to fit your hand.

If you have long fingers, but a relatively narrow palm you should order a size up as the size chart does not account for finger length.

Please note, if your hand measures toward the upper limit of the size measurements, the gloves will fit very snugly. If you prefer that your gloves do not fit so snugly, you may want to select the next size larger. Held kangaroo gloves are a very precise fit. Because Held gloves are such a fitted glove, many people enjoy the snug fit. This is actually very comfortable, with few wrinkles and little crumpling in the palm area.

A properly fitted Held will "fit you like a glove".
