Held Namib Glove
Really excellent glove
This was my third try at getting a new glove since I wore through my old Teknic Supervent gloves. I tried a pair of Dianese which even after going a size up could barely make it onto my hands, then a pair of Icons which had easily 2" of additional finger length and horrible feeling seams inside, then I tried these. The construction of these is much better than any of the others and so is the feel. The materials are great and feel light and strong. There is a really good tactile response from the palms. The fingers are just a little bit long on me but not uncomfortably so. Just a few days after receiving them I got a chance to test the wiper feature (rain is a rarity here in California) and it really worked like a charm. Even in fairly heavy rain it cleared the shield leaving me with instant visibility. It sure beats looking through tons of water drops. The gloves didn't get hard after the rain or bleed any dye. I can't imagine anyone being dissatisfied with these. Great stuff!

#@%*&!@# Fantastic Gloves
You will love these gloves the minute you put them on. I have not taken these gloves off since I received them. I wear them absolutely everywhere........yes everywhere! I will never take these off! .... ever!
I love kangaroo.

Held makes a fine glove, but yes, a more expensive glove. You do get what you pay for.
I've been a big fan of Held for a while, having owned a couple pairs of Steve gloves in the past. I've been wearing Kevlar gloves on colder days but wanted something for warmer days.
I chose the Namib over the Steve because it has the squeegee on the left index finger - why the Steve doesn't, I don't know.
I measure out to an 8.75" in the hands, so I went with a 9 - which is a L. It fits fine in the hand - the knuckle armor is stiff and takes some time to break in. I have very skinny fingers and no glove in the world will ever fit them correctly, but this is close enough. I do feel secure in these and haven't had any issues with my controls or feel. There is enough room that I could wear them with a silk liner or even a heated liner if I wanted to.
They lose one durability point because on the second wearing I had a thread starting to hang off the third finger of the right hand. Snipped it off, but was annoyed about that. Shouldn't have happened on a $150+ dollar glove.

Comfortable, fits well, good protection
The stitching and leather on these Held Namib gloves is really well done. It is rare, except perhaps with completely unarmoured gloves, to have a smooth and comfortable fit on first use. But I had this experience with the Namibs :)
The kangaroo leather on the palm is really soft, and the knuckle protection is solid. I like the fact that they knuckle shield is leather - covered as well.

Overall great glove - runs a tad small though
My first Held glove was the Air Hero - i loved it so much I decided to get this one as a shorty. It's just as nice and provides great protection. A little bit warmer too so it's good into late fall.
My only gripe is this runs a tad smaller than my other glove of the same brand and size. However, after some use, it's starting to stretch out and fit nicely.

Fit like a glove
I love these gloves. It's my second pair as I lost my first one. They fit perfectly and are great riding gloves here in CA for almost all year.
Only draw back is that they are not water proof, but they feel great and I think that in a crash they will do just as great too. Held gloves are THE motorcyle gloves.

Nice design, poor quality control
I hate reviews from people who got a dud and then assume that everyone else will get a dud. Really, a review should be of a non-defective product so readers can get an idea of what they will likely receive.
But I need to get this on the record so readers know that this manufacturer has poor quality control.
The specific problem I ran into was that the stitching was off on the palm on one of the gloves. It was hard to track down -- all I knew is that one glove felt turned slightly on my hand. When I finally spotted what was going on, it was obvious.
I'm giving Held a low score because this type of flaw should not make it out of the factory. The price they charge for the gloves easily justifies a high attention to detail -- and that isn't the case with Held. In manufacturing, if it can happen once it can happen many times.
And this is a subtle flaw that you might miss. That should not happen for a $150 pair of gloves.
If you get a pair that's made correctly, you can expect a glove that provides a lot of soft, durable leather and reasonable protection. They're very nice looking.
For my hand, they felt a bit on the short side -- both in finger length and length down the wrist. Width was as advertised in the sizing guide.
But I'm going to steer clear of Held -- I'd rather not have to get lucky on something like this.

Excellent protection, control, and comfort.
This is great glove and fits true to size. My hand is 9.5 so I ordered 10 and fits perfectly. The leather has great feel and gives you excellent feel and control of the grips. I like how it is not is high cuff and closes great around the wrist. Being a leather glove still has good air flow through the holes in the fingers. The glove offers great protection for the knuckles and reinforced palms and outside hand and small finger. Only done short rides to date and love the glove. 2 Week trip is coming up soon and see after 5,000 or 6,000 miles how it holds up.
