Held Namib Glove 4.5 5 15 15
Comfortable, fits well, good protection The stitching and leather on these Held Namib gloves is really well done. It is rare, except perhaps with completely unarmoured gloves, to have a smooth and comfortable fit on first use. But I had this experience with the Namibs :) The kangaroo leather on the palm is really soft, and the knuckle protection is solid. I like the fact that they knuckle shield is leather - covered as well. June 14, 2013
Overall great glove - runs a tad small though My first Held glove was the Air Hero - i loved it so much I decided to get this one as a shorty. It's just as nice and provides great protection. A little bit warmer too so it's good into late fall. My only gripe is this runs a tad smaller than my other glove of the same brand and size. However, after some use, it's starting to stretch out and fit nicely. December 10, 2012
Fit like a glove I love these gloves. It's my second pair as I lost my first one. They fit perfectly and are great riding gloves here in CA for almost all year. Only draw back is that they are not water proof, but they feel great and I think that in a crash they will do just as great too. Held gloves are THE motorcyle gloves. November 26, 2012
Nice design, poor quality control I hate reviews from people who got a dud and then assume that everyone else will get a dud. Really, a review should be of a non-defective product so readers can get an idea of what they will likely receive. But I need to get this on the record so readers know that this manufacturer has poor quality control. The specific problem I ran into was that the stitching was off on the palm on one of the gloves. It was hard to track down -- all I knew is that one glove felt turned slightly on my hand. When I finally spotted what was going on, it was obvious. I'm giving Held a low score because this type of flaw should not make it out of the factory. The price they charge for the gloves easily justifies a high attention to detail -- and that isn't the case with Held. In manufacturing, if it can happen once it can happen many times. And this is a subtle flaw that you might miss. That should not happen for a $150 pair of gloves. If you get a pair that's made correctly, you can expect a glove that provides a lot of soft, durable leather and reasonable protection. They're very nice looking. For my hand, they felt a bit on the short side -- both in finger length and length down the wrist. Width was as advertised in the sizing guide. But I'm going to steer clear of Held -- I'd rather not have to get lucky on something like this. September 27, 2012
Excellent protection, control, and comfort. This is great glove and fits true to size. My hand is 9.5 so I ordered 10 and fits perfectly. The leather has great feel and gives you excellent feel and control of the grips. I like how it is not is high cuff and closes great around the wrist. Being a leather glove still has good air flow through the holes in the fingers. The glove offers great protection for the knuckles and reinforced palms and outside hand and small finger. Only done short rides to date and love the glove. 2 Week trip is coming up soon and see after 5,000 or 6,000 miles how it holds up. September 25, 2012
Great Fit and Feel This glove is very pricey. The fit and feel once on your hand is outstanding and everything I have come to expect from Held. I rated it in the middle on durability because I have only been using them for a couple of weeks. If I get a year to 18 months of service from them then I will be extremely happy with the purchase. Well crafted every day glove. Brought these gloves based on other reviews and Helds reputation and am not disappointed. They fit well and are true to size, am looking forward to getting some distance with these as a every day glove around town. April 9, 2012
Outstanding Glove These gloves are extremely cofortable and the construction is top notch (I wouldn't expect anything less from Held). The glove style is fantastic and the kangaroo leather palms are very soft which allow for excellent feel. For not having a lot of ventilation, they are much cooler than expected. These gloves are worth every penny in my opinion. January 25, 2012

Answer:
The heat build up depends on your temperature tolerance. It will be warmer than a glove with more venting.

Answer:
I've been using these in early summer, and they are reasonably cool for an armoured glove. I would imagine that on +40 degree C (100 degree fahrenheit) days they would be pretty warm. But on days in the mid 20s C (e.g.: around 80 degrees fahrenheit) they are great.

Answer:
Those do great during the summer, they have ventilation holes between the fingers (Namib). Highly recommended.

HeldWhile most gloves sold in the US are offered in alpha sizes (Small, Medium, Large, etc), Held gloves are sold in numeric glove sizes. The most accurate way to choose a glove size is to measure your hands using the directions and charts below. To get an idea of what Held Glove sizes correspond to in typical american gloves, a conversion guide is included below just to get you started in the right direction.

Held Size Estimated Men's Size
6 – 6 1/2 XS
7 – 7 1/2 SM
8 – 8 1/2 MD
9 – 9 1/2 LG
10 XL
11 2XL
12 3XL

Steps to Measure For Held Gloves

  1. Use a flexible measuring tape to measure your hand in inches.
  2. Measure around your hand, behind the knuckles, not including the thumb.
  3. Take an accurate, snug measurement.
  4. Measure both hands and use the largest measurement.
  5. Compare your measurement to the size charts below

Held Sizing Guide

Held Glove Fitment Tips

Held gloves should fit snugly when new. They will stretch out during break in and form to fit your hand.

If you have long fingers, but a relatively narrow palm you should order a size up as the size chart does not account for finger length.

Please note, if your hand measures toward the upper limit of the size measurements, the gloves will fit very snugly. If you prefer that your gloves do not fit so snugly, you may want to select the next size larger. Held kangaroo gloves are a very precise fit. Because Held gloves are such a fitted glove, many people enjoy the snug fit. This is actually very comfortable, with few wrinkles and little crumpling in the palm area.

A properly fitted Held will "fit you like a glove".
