GoPro HD Hero3 Black Edition Camera
Overall best camera!
Quality is awesome! 720p-120fps is really gnarly. Wifi remote will make your life alot easier because you can push one button and it will start/stop recording whenever you want to.

It is an excellent camera
It is an excellent camera very practical and multifunctional control is the best option as it gives the management without contact with the camera

Great video when works
Takes great video when working. The wifi remote and app freeze the thing making me want to trow it in the river. Overheats constantly on Handlebars of a motorcycle and constantly freezes. So frustrating to operate. Get a contour instead

Not only does it look cool in the waterproof case but it doesn't stop there! This camera is such a blast to use. I purchased it for track time on my GSXR. I have 3 mounts and the quality is out of this world. If I could make any suggestion for you future buyers: buy an extra battery pack. It makes the difference of 1 hour recordings or 3 to 4 hours of recordings. Also, spend the $20 and buy the accessory kit. The extra mounts go fast!!! Worth every penny. Have fun.

GoPro Hero 3 Black - For The Best HD Video
I compared several of the top video cameras before deciding to order the GoPro Hero 3 Black. I am happy to say I made the right choice. What about you?
The best advice I received before ordering the Hero 3 Black was this: "If you want to moto-vlog, grab the least expensive of the top-four video cameras. If you want the best possible video quality, get the Hero 3 Black." As an amateur photographer and stickler for quality, that was the final input that led me to this camera. I can now say the same without qualification: if you want the best video quality, get the Hero 3 Black edition.
The good: 1) Video quality is outstanding, and you can choose from so many options that it really makes your head spin initially. Trust me: start with 1080p at 29.97 frames-per-second and then decide if you need to make adjustments. See the video link included with this review for an example of the footage possible. 2) The included water-proof case is outstanding. It is tough, but easy to operate the controls using the 'plunger' style extension buttons. 3) The included mounts are a good start (Hint: DO NOT DISCARD THE MOUNT THE CAMERA IS CONNECTED TO AS PART OF THE PACKING MATERIAL... this gives you one more way to sit the camera down and use it, or you can make your own custom mount from it). 4) The GoPro mounting system is rock-solid! One mounted, the camera does not move. 5) GoPro stands behind this camera! I have contacted them twice with questions, and they have replied in a timely manner with great solutions. In addition, they sell about every accessory imaginable as well as replacement parts.
The bad: 1) The included documentation stinks. In fact, it's hard to call the few pages of documentation found in the package 'documentation'. It's less than the basic knowledge required. You need to go to the GoPro web-site and get the downloadable PDF manual. Also, go to YouTube and start browsing for GoPro Hero 3 Tips. There are a ton and many are exceptional. 2) The battery life could be better. When I've used the camera and the remote control, the battery lasts about 45 minutes (probably because the camera uses WiFi to communicate with the remote control). With the WiFi signal turned off, I can get more than 1 hour 45 minutes of continuous record time. I recommend you pick up spare batteries. 3) Oddly, GoPro does not include a charger with the Hero 3. You would think for the price, they could include a wall charger. Still, with the included cables, you can use a standard USB wall-charger, or your computer's USB port. 4) The built-in microphone average, and practically useless when used on a motorcycle at speeds greater than about 20mph. Many people have written on how to connect an external microphone or how to use an off-camera recorder so you can capture great sound, but don't expect the Hero 3 to do this for you.
Other: 1) Get the free downloadable GoPro App (available for iOS, Windows phone, and Android). With it you can adjust camera settings much faster than using the button driven interface built into the camera. You can also see a preview of what the camera lens sees. You will need this to line up your shots and correctly position your camera on a mount.
Overall: It's about the video! This camera delivers the very best video available in a compact camera that can take a beating, accompany you underwater, and fit in your shirt pocket. If you want to create great video and you need a compact package, click the order button now. When you combine the quality of this camera with Revzilla's customer satisfaction guarantee, you will not be sorry.

Great video, but too much for most people.
I would rate the video quality at 5 stars, but would give the battery life a three stars at best!
I had been considering the Hero3 Silver, but bought the black since I wanted the remote (not included with the silver edition). I have been "playing" with the camera for several weeks now, and find that the video and sound quality to be excellent. The battery was rather disappointing! Fully charged, it doesn't last anywhere near long enough. Adding the battery backpack helped with a little more record time, but still not enough. OTOH, the battery backpack came with the skeleton back door, which allows one to connect a mini USB cable to the aux. battery while the camera is recording. This should work very nicely, but I have not tried using the wired set-up yet.
In hind sight, if I was buying this camera again, I would buy the Silver Edition, forgoing the remote. I would use my iPod, with the installed GoPro App. as a remote.

One of the best things to happen to mankind!
Not joking! There may be competing cameras but this is like the iPhone of action cams. If something goes wrong, if you need a spare etc chances are that you will find it more easily than other brands. With the GP3 the quality has gone up a notch. Plus the Wifi-iPhone app compatibity is super

Big performance, small package
This camera is by far one of the best for action filming. I'm using it for underwater shots on my trip to Maui and I can't wait! Mounting to a track bike is easy. The small size means you can place it almost anywhere. The optics are far and above better than the Hero2.
Be sure to note, this camera uses MicroSD cards, not the typical SD card the Hero2 and many other cameras use. Be sure to by a quality class 10 memory card.
Buy it! You won't be disappointed!
