GMax GM54/S and GM78/S Dual Lens Face Shield
does what I hoped it would
I bought this shield after being caught in rain in the shield that comes with the helmet. Once you are in rain and within 10 seconds you can't see at 60 mph you realize that CAN'T happen again. It allows me to see even when the temperatures are changing around me or inside my helmet. Very minimal fog so it is a thumbs up for me for sure. Great product. I think it should be standard issue.

100% Fog free
This product does exactly what it should, keeps my helmet from fogging up. I've used it in the cold and in the rain and it preforms flawlessly. Even when I try to fog it up, it remains crystal clear. With my single lens shield I would always leave it partially opened to vent, which works on cold days, but in rain it was a nightmare. I'd have water droplets inside my shield, sometimes the spray would hit my face. But with this I leave it closed and don't have to worry about fog.
There are a few things you should know (they aren't complaints necessarily)
1. The lens (in my case) was a tight fit. It isn't easy to attach/remove. I think it has to do with the thickness. So it isn't something I would plan on changing out often.
2. It doesn't go up and down easily at all (this may again be due to thickness) But I really have to put in some effort to open or close it. On the flip side you don't need to open it to vent like a regular lens because it doesn't fog, so you can close it and leave it there.
3. Sometimes there is weird glare (towards the top of the lens, its usually just a horizontal line) at night. It's due to the way the multiple layers refract light, but you get used to it and quickly block it out. It was just surprising the first few nights I used it
4. As other reviewers wrote, the gray insulation between the two lenses does slightly reduce your field of view, but not in any drastic way. And certainly less than a fogged up windscreen would reduce your visibility
I am absolutely pleased with this shield, and the best thing is without a doubt the price. Far less than any pin-lock system fancier helmets use and just as effective, it's barely more than a tinted/colored lens. If you ever drive in adverse weather conditions, just buy it, you will wonder why you ever bothered riding without one

Does exactly what it's supposed to
I have the GMax 54S modular helmet. Last year when riding down to Deal’s gap I spent the vast majority of the day in the rain, during which my stock face shield fogged up significantly; so much so I had to “crack” the shield open in the rain to avoid fog, only so that rain started dripping down the inside of the shield as well. I purchased this dual lens face shield in preparation for this year’s trip to Deal’s gap. The first few times out in light rain I was happy to report that the lens did not fog up. I was purposely trying to fog up the screen, but could only see fog on the single lens section of the shield. This year, right on cue, it rained while I was at the “gap”. I rode the entire length of the Dragon in the rain, no fog on the lens and with the shield closed completely, no water running down the inside.
The shield performed marvelously during my week in North Carolina. That being said, on colder says elsewhere I small amount of fog can be found on the lower portion of the shield, but nothing like a standard single pane. This did not happen until I wiped down the inside surface of the lens with soapy water; perhaps I wiped off an anti-fog coating? One should also be very careful when wiping down the inside surface, the material scratches much easier than the outside of the lens. My only other gripe is that the field of vision is cut down by the foam barrier between the primary and secondary lens.
For the price, I cannot complain about the shield, it’s done very well for my so far, especially for what I paid for it. I’m looking forward to seeing how much warmer I’ll stay this winter with my shield closed completely when riding on the freeway in freezing temperatures.

Better than the stock lens. Durable and great anti fog function. Recomended!

Great for cold and rain!
This is a great visor for riding in the rain and for cold weather. I have been leaving my visor and all vents closed in 20 °F weather, and getting no fogging! As long as you are moving it all, it seems to prevent virtually all fogging, with no special coating added to it. My only complaint is at night: at certain angles, I've noticed a bit of distortion, seeing oncoming headlights with a slight "double vision". It's minor, though, and can be gotten used to fairly quickly.
