Great quality cases - but came with nasty scratches
The Givi Outback cases are great.
My only complaint is that when I opened the box, I noticed some very weird deep scratches on the side of the case. Sucks to have a nasty scratch on something that you paid a load of money for before you even use it.
I ordered the 48L for the right side of my 800GS. This case is huuuuge! Looks like I will be able to fit a lot in here for my camping trips. The opening in the top makes is really easy to pack and the Givi system makes it just a click to mount on the rack. I especially wanted the 48L so that on everyday rides, I can choose to mount the cases on quickly if I wanted an easy way to lock up my helmet. My shoei hornet fits with plenty of space to spare.

Cheaper and better looking than Touratech
Got the 48L case in the natural aluminum finish for the left side of my 2013 Tiger 800XC and the 37L for the right and I love them. Initially I was scared it might be too bulky, but it really isn't and I love that I can stash my helmet, gloves and jacket inside with room to spare. Already been through several downpours and the box is definitely waterproof. They look super sharp. I'm not the most mechanically inclined guy in the world, but installation was pretty easy, despite minimal instructions. Can't really make a call on durability because they've only been on the bike for 8 days.

48 L outback Trekker 2014 v strom 1000
I use the trunk daily only have used the site cases three times unfortunately But they did the job.. I will be putting them to the test when I had from Ventura California to Montana next month. I will definitely exceed the Weight capacity that The manufacturer says is Max and I will give a better review how they did

Solid large case road trips
I own a Suzuki 2004 V-Strom 650 and have the . I bought the Givi PL532CAM Saddlebag Holder For Trekker Outback Cases - Suzuki DL650 (04-11) $224.10 from Adventure MotoStuff since they were sold out on revzilla. Went to Death Valley and dropped my bike once on each side while stopped. The only things that hit the ground were the side cases cause they stick out pretty far on the V-Strom. You can hardly tell they hit the ground. The right case hit gravel, but the left case hit pavement, and the left connection between the case and rack seems slightly looser, but overall they seem quite robust. I can fit a helmet in the case no problem.

I have a right side exhaust and the 48L on Left and 37L on Right maintains and symmetrical distance from the center of the bike to the furthest exterior wall of the cases.

Givi has some of the best reviews on their line of panniers (side cases). They are designed to be rugged, functional and visually appealing. They have a premium price tag but I consider it is worth the extra cost considering the features and life-span of the product. -MikeM

Because Spurgeon Dunbar did a great review on the Triumph Tiger XCx. His review was the last piece I needed to pull the plug on getting the bike, and now that I have it, needed to accessorize.

I like the look and space of aluminum panniers. I've had a set of OEM panniers on my prev F800GS. I now have an R1200GSW and wanted aluminum panniers, but didn't feel I had to pay top dollar for a decent set. Searched brands out there and saw Givi's alum panniers and liked the space and features of this set. Got a great price from Revzilla, free shipping and great savings!

Can the locks be mounted either fore or aft, or just on the back?
A shopper on Nov 9, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Never put the hinge at the rear of the bag. The wind WILL remove the lid someday.
Are these cases waterproof? My SW-Motech are not and that is un-acceptable in an ADV pannier; i need bags that keep my gear inside dry
A shopper on Oct 23, 2014
BEST ANSWER: I was curious myself so come wash time I hit them from various angels with my pressure washer for about 30 seconds and they did not leak. Even when I directed the stream directly at the seal there was still no water inside the case. Great Cases
I don't see the mounts listed for these. Where do you buy the mounts/racks to mount them on a Motorcycle?
A shopper on Feb 25, 2014
BEST ANSWER: I choose the Givi mounts that fit my 2011 BMW F650gs... These install very quickly in probably under 1 hour. Once you gave the mounting system on your bike - these cases clip on / off in seconds. Key to taking them off is to pull the release latch and push down on the case just slightly. I don't think this was in any of the manuals - and will save any future owners several minutes of head scratching... And a few choice words. Simply call customer service and they can advise which mounting system works on your bike. Good luck and ride safe.
Does the 48 liter hold a full face/modular? I do not believe the 37l can.
Brad K on Jan 18, 2015
BEST ANSWER: It holds my Bell Revolver Evo.
I have a 2013 BMW F800GS, can two 48L cases fit on my bike or do I have to get a 48 and a 37? Thanks in advance.
A shopper on Jul 12, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I have a 08 r1200gs but it should work on the same principle. The main concern for using 37l and 48l combination is to balance the bike because of the muffler taking extra space so to use the 37l to compensate it to achieve the symmetric setup. another concern for your model is it may be too wide and affect the handling(wind drag and lack of engine power) of the bike. in my opinion, fitting is not a problem but the handling will be.
Hey fellas!
I have a 2014 BMW GS LC, Should I order a 48L and 37L, both 37L, or both 48L,
I want to make sure bike is well balanced and not been dragging so much wind stream.?
ANDRES A on Oct 28, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I have a pair of the 48L cases and they definitely cause some serious wind resistance. I only have 500cc, so it's been an issue for me, but if you have 700cc and above, it shouldn't be. Another tip: they were wider than my rear view mirrors, and as you tend to judge where you'll fit from the mirrors, which is usually the widest point, it is easy to knock things like ATMs or gas pumps with the cases, or scratch them. Be aware of that if you get the 48L!

ANDRES A on Oct 1, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I can barely tell that the 48L are on my 2014 NC700X which is lighter than a BMW. I've traveled to NE Miss from Dallas with them loaded. You're going to get drag from them; so, you won't be able to go top speed. However, crosswinds really don't care what you have or do not have.
How heavy each case is?

In the market to replace my well worn Touratech panniers on my F800GS. What is the mounting system on the pannier itself made from? The pics make it look like plastic?
Also, does the pannier hang on the rack mount with the top and bottom mount and then lock on? Or hang on the bottom mount and the top holds it on like the touratech Zega models? Thanks.
Dan M on Aug 6, 2015
BEST ANSWER: They are made of some kind of plastic. The internal latching piece is metal, and it sounds like a solid car door closing when I put them on. You set the bottom mounts on first, then push the top towards the bike to latch. Very solid, and the quality of the plastic seems like it will last a long time with abuse.
The Specs say a case is only rated to 22 lbs. Seriously? Ive had over 60lbs in a giant loop with no problems. is this a "catch-all" weight rating to cover their behinds? Or is this legitimate?
A shopper on Aug 4, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Total CYA on their part. I'm currently riding thru Jasper National Park wiy way more than 22#s in the 48 and the 37 on the other side.
