Givi TN690 Engine Guards for BMW F650GS/F800GS 2008-2012

Great affordable protection for the 800 GS I needed crash bars for a short notice, 3 day dual sport camp trip on my 800 GS. The Revzilla folks tracked down a Givi set from their Reno warehouse. I'm in Chico Ca, they shipped (free) to my door in two days. The Revzilla Rep sent me a confirming email. Not the first time I ordered from them and certainly not the last. Service is outstanding and staff courteous. It took 20 minutes to install the Givi Crash bars. They went on easily, look great. The next morning they were put to the test on an attempt to cross the coast range from hwy 5 to 101 via Covelo through mud and snow. I dropped the bike 9 times and each time it landed on a Givi crash bar and Givi sidecase. Both held up extremely well without a scratch. My friend on a KTM 990 Adv sheered off the KTM side luggage mt on a mild tip over. We secured the KTM bag with a giant zip tie and continued on. I cracked the front fender on a tip over into a snow bank but other than that, no damage to me or the bike. This was an extreme test/ride that I would not attempt without crash bars. Great product, no need to spend more $$ on crash bars. May 20, 2012

Pretty Good for the Price These are well made and easy to fit, but there's a tubular spacer which connects the upper part of the two halves which can rattle very loudly if you don't make sure the two halves clamp down properly on the it. Givi includes a spacer which fits on the upper clamp bolt, and if you take 2 mm off that spacer, if it needs it, the tube will not rattle. That rattle was very annoying, happening at 4000 rpm + , until I fixed it. February 21, 2011
