Stylish addition to safety on my new bike!
I am a new rider that went against the grain and got a brand new bike for my first commuter so to protect it from any potential dips at a stop I put engine guards first thing and I chose the Givi's. The install was fairly self explanatory to me (if you have done work on a car before this is not bad at all). It took me some serious maneuvering to catch and hold MEGA washers into place on the right side of my Honda NC700X, but nothing due to the bars themselves. They fit the bike well and compliment the color and style well, they just look like they belong to me.

Pain to install, Great looking & Functioning guards.
Instructions were terrible and didn't show the need to detach the clutch cable in order to get the guard on. But (and this is a big but) they are awesome. They look great on the bike and are just big enough to protect the engine without getting in the way or adding too much weight. Definitely recommend.

I recommend this product for NC700 owners that want to protect the engine in cases of a slid out or spill.

Protection in case...
Though you never want to lay it down, things happen. These engine guards hit all the right buttons with me. They look good, they mount using the engine mounts and frame, and they feel stout. Like most, I have no desire to test how they perform in a crash.
The one drawback is the instructions. They are not very clear in some areas. YouTube can be your friend for this. Overall, very happy with the purchase.

A bit pricey but its worth it
Overall it installs easy and looks really nice. I recommend using a ratcheting box wrench to install the hard-to-reach bolts. This saves a lot of time and frustraion. If not a ratcheting wrench make sure its a 12 point box, a 6 point will not work.

Good bars, good coverage, good attach points
Reviewed for 2013 Honda NC700x Manual.

Took me about an hour to figure out how to put this on, i have no mechanical experience.

The attachment points are solid and this provides better coverage than competitor crash bars, from what I've read.

Some have seen rusting on GIVI crash bars after a year or two though it's unsure if that was a bad batch or a chronic issue. Ask me in one year and I'll have a long term opinion.

Note - these crash bars DO NOT come with longer screws with which to attach to the bike. This means the threads do not thread all the way through like they do on stock. I puchased some longer 10.9 bolts to replace the stock bolts, as it seemed imprudent to add stress the threads were not initially designed for, and reduce the strength of the bolt by decreasing thread area.

pritty good
Not obtrusive; blends in with the bike; luckily did not lay my bike down yet, but seems that it will do the job as expected

Great bars, awful instructions
Ok, the good news. As always revzilla shipped liked lightning and it literally took thirty minutes to put these bars on my NC700x (DCT) once I found an alternate set of instructions on-line. They look great and the product is really good quality. The contact points seem appropriate and they will probably do the trick if/when it tips over in my garage or camp-site. It mounts in three places on the bike, two engine/frame points and one cross frame piece. Seems like they will absorb the impact and if it’s more serious I think they will reduce the damage.

The downside of this kit is Givi itself. They make these really beautiful and sturdy bars but don't give you replacement bolts for the mounts, instead they let you rely on the existing screws? I know aluminum screws are pricey but at $180 bucks you could throw in four slightly longer screws. The problem with using exising screws is that the mounting bolts aren’t going in as far as originally spec’d. I've ordered some longer screws and will replace them when they come in. Also, I like minimalist instructions as much as the next knuckle dragger but Givi has taken it to absurd levels (three pages- six pictures- about twelve words in English). At the very least Givi could include the torque specs for the engine bolts that need to be reset. Yes, I know they recommend a professional install them.
