Givi SRA6403 Aluminum Top Case Racks Tiger Explorer 1200 2012-2015
Great Item and Great service to get it
Had a great experience ordering this item by phone. Rep was very knowledgeable and answered all my concerns. Item was in stock, went out that day or next, and received couple days later. It was easy to put on (and I'm not good at those things!) the bike, and works great with my Monokey V46 case. Only reason I rated bang for buck "good" is that I want everything cheaper!!

I do recommend this unit but.....
Well this has been a LOT more interesting getting the install done with variables in Top Cases and versatility that is NOT designed as implied in this otherwise great piece of kit.
OK on the pro side is is minimalistic and does not take up a lot of room.
Fits all GIVI cases apparently unlike the AltRider I also tried .
Cons are you are going to have to make a few minor adjustments in the install to make it truly functional on the Triumph Explorer example.
Worst feature is the laser cut aluminum was not beveled and the edges will cut any straps you attach across it that rest on that edge.
The other worst feature is the locking tab on the end will have to be drilled out and replaced with a kit version in order to make it readily removable to sleeve on your OEM soft luggage for occasions which you don't want the top case installed , like camping trips or off road forays.
The good news is that with a few minor applications you can cure most of it's shortcomings and if like me you want to mount a GIVI V 47 top case you don't have any choice to to make this one work because the otherwise wonderfully made Altrider version simply will NOT work on that case because the bottom is not flat .
OK so here are the modes . For the spacers add 1 /8 th inch washers on top of the cylindrical spacers which come with the kit to raise up the plate just enough to be able to get accessory strap loops attached for securing soft luggage . You will need to remove the vertical lock tab off the plate to install any of the OEM soft bags which have straps on the bottom and the GIVI rack has the lock tab locktighted onto well you can not remove it for addling a flat surface for these other uses when the top box might not be ideal.
Ironically GIVI sells an extender for the luggage rack to hold their large soft luggage bits and it clearly states you must remove the vertical locking tab from the rack to install it.
hahahahah Good luck with that unless you have a really good drill bit and a spare new one to replace it as you will NEVER get those existing crews out of the tab.
OK enough about his rack. It does work and when I get time I'm going to radios the knife like edges so that it doesn't shred my straps going forward but for the price and comparison the AltRider finish and edging was far superior , they just have to sort out there other issues relative to GIVI product compatibility .
None of this stuff is rocket science and I am a pretty competent mechanic on bikes I own and have never stripped a screw head but you will strip these immediately if you try to remove them
That said I've ended up keeping the GIVI and sending back the AltRider version even though short of not fitting the very case I like for my bike it was a better rack and their hardware actually works better than the OEM GIVI on the cases . I was just lucky enough to pick prolly the one case that has a bottom design that doesn't work on the Altrider version
Happy camping and riding and remember share your experiences > I read EVERY post when I buy a piece from Reveille and these guys do their utmost to make your purchases work the fist time . They couldn't know that GIVI QC is slipping some these days and they are cutting out some of the best features on their Monkey cases which is more than a little disappointing. What were they thinking removing the document box in the lid ??? Seriously ?? One of the best features for me.

The fit/finish was very good. I like that it keeps the top box as low as possible by mounting close to the original luggage rack. My only concern is that the spacers are equal height which causes the top box to tilt forward slightly.
