SR357 is THE ONLY way to go
If you are looking to put a givi tail case on your FJR1300, and be able to load the max of 22 lb, the SR357 is your only real choice. It replaces the plastic/fiberglass stock grab bars and "luggage rack" that can't really hold any luggage. The tubular steel construction is very sturdy, and will keep your rear subframe from flexing at all. Also it's a far more secure set of grab bars for a passenger. SOLID.

The Fit and finish is OK, though sometimes there may be small issues with fitting, particularly due to manufacturing variations with the rear platform. Sometimes there will be a small gap between the platform and rear-most spacer, that requires a washer to fill. You might also need to get a slightly longer rear bolt. It was not a major issue though.

Also, as others have said, check yours to make sure you get all the washers/bolts you should. Mine was missing one of the 8M washers.

Solid Product with one LONG STANDING design flaw...
Finish is nice, all included hardware is high quality and very well make, IMO.
The problem is with the rear most spacer on the FJR model of the Givi SR357 rack (fits 2006-2016 FJR's).

This issue must be a couple years old at least? Common Givi. Make a longer spacer or provide washers with instructions so that people won't damage things during install.

There are 3 spacers that hold up the rack that supports the topcase. The rear most spacer is a little too short.
Problem with this is, if someone doesn't know this and torques down the rack, something will give. Either part of your bike could be damaged or the threads could be damaged due to the rigidity of the Give rack.
This rack is SOLID and will not bend to cover the shortcomings of the spacer.
Hopefully this makes sense.
I added 2 stainless washers and they were perfect (see attached pic with the RED arrow).

Also, watch the video and this design flaw will be better explained.

Much more rigid
Much more rigid than the factory grab bar/support. Hard to say whether it's the mount or the case, but this combo has far less buffeting than the OEM mount and case.

Best plastic box I ever installed on a bike
I've been riding for 40+ years and this is the first trunk/top case I've ever owned. That makes it the best one I've ever owned. I guess it also makes it the worst. It's difficult for me to get all excited about a box made of plastic. It's solid, it seals well, it has plenty of room and it looks better to me than the other ones in similar sizes. I bought two. One for my bike and one for my wife's bike. The first one was easy to install, the second was easier. That's because my wife installed hers. It's wet and cold so I haven't been out with mine yet but it looks like it will do the job. They fit a couple of helmets each. I

Great for my FJR
This product has helped me to equip my FJR with a top box without fear of sub-frame failure. Revzilla shipped promptly and offered a fair price. Thank you.

Sturdy Mount
I installed this mount for touring. Although at some point I'll add a Givi trunk, currently I use a drybag for multi-day rides. This rack is a very solid base for securing my drybag, tent, sleeping bag and pad. It installed very easily. Fit was spot on and the mounting plate fitment also excellent. Rack looks good on my FJR with lines that go well on the bike - not an afterthought. Overall very pleased and no complaints for my usage.

SR357 Rack
Great product and easy to fit , but need s little tweak as ther is a gap under the rear most attachment points that need 3 washers to fill the gap , I had read similar reviews on the FJR forum .. All good .

Gives the strength to the subframe of the FJR needed for top boxes
The install was straight forward and took little time to complete.
I appreciate the rigidity to the sub-frame of the bike. It works will loaded up to 20lbs and my wife leaning on the back pad of the E55 case used with this mount.

I purchased this for a previous FJR--stronger, and wife loves the side bars for stability. The fit was not perfect, had to grind a small section and add a spacer here and there but overall very happy so buying another!

Chose the sr357 due to the recommendation by other FJR owners for safely attaching the top case with less risk of subframe failure and it being more stable.
michael G on Feb 4, 2015
Supposed to be the best rack for my bike - less likely to crack the subframe. Based on what I've seen as far as rack design, that makes sense. Hope it is true.
Christopher B on Sep 15, 2014
I heard that the sub frame on the FJR was a little weak, so I chose this bracket as it spreads the load over more of the chassis

Will the SR357 rack work on a 2016 Yamaha FJR ES?
mitchnj1 on Mar 16, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Yes, both are MONOKEY cases. I have the V47 Tech on a '15 FJR and my Dad has the V46 on an '07 FJR, both mounted on the SR357. The SR357 is the strongest way to mount a top case to an FJR.
Is this the mounting bracket for a v46-47 top case?
A S on Mar 23, 2014
BEST ANSWER: I'm using it with my V47 and I presume it will take the V46 as well.

Givi also sells another mount for the FJR, called the E228.

I have actually tried both and I prefer the SR357. The downside to this rack is that you lose the factory grab rail. It just doesn't look as nice. On the upside, this rack greatly stiffens the subframe as compared to the E228.

While the bike looked better with the E228, there was quite a bit of flex and I didn't feel very secure adding anything to the topcase.

Hope this helps.
