Givi PL367 Side Case Racks Yamaha Super Tenere 2010-2013
Work well, pretty low-profile
I bought Givi Trekker cases for my Tiger 800 and had them mounted on there. I wanted to use the same cases on my Super Tenere '14 so I bought these racks. Bike already had factory Yamaha case mounts installed, so I removed those and put these on.
I actually had to use two bolts from the factory case mounts because the ones supplied by Givi for this rack weren't long enough. Not sure if this is a change with the 2014 Tenere or some other issue. In any case, they're on there, were pretty easy to put on, and look good.
Durability of these racks is questionable. I'd love to have a set of racks that were heavier duty so they'd help out more in a tip-over or crash...almost like crash bars. I question if these could take a hard impact with the weight of the bike behind them. I suspect they'd bend pretty easily given the low gauge and thin-nature of the metal. Not saying they're flimsy, and I know they're a luggage rack, not a crash guard, but heavier duty would be better.
