Givi E105S Brake Light Kit for V46 Top Cases
Basic light kit is pricey. Be patient during install
First off, note that this light kit is just the four small lights on the top, middle portion of the V46. It won't light up the entire back of the V46. Installation takes a little longer than expected and at one point I was unimpressed with the wire routing coming out of the light module. To prevent the wire inside of topcase from getting tangled yanked by the gear you put inside, run a bead of silicon sealant over the wire to keep it tucked into the corner of the box.

Good quality, fits right in
I've seen comments before about been hard to install it. Not really. It's not a walk in the park, but still on the easy side. My perception is that this is related to the instructions, they could have some improvements, as you might guess some steps. With that said, great quality, everything fits in the right place, it takes an enthusiast like me 1,5h to install, no rushing. Kudos for Givi on the original accessories.

Easy add on to the Givi Topcase
The light kit provides a great addition to rear visibility on my bike. Lights are easy to install and appears to be a durable addition to the box.

This light does what it is aimed at doing: adding extra stoplight visibility.
I had this installed, together with the V46 topcase, by the dealer who sold me my bike. They weren't happy with how much time it took them to figure out installation and get the job done -- the actual work time for them was more than they estimated.
That said, the light works once installed.
One concern I have is that I have dislodged the wire connector once when I packed a bunch of stuff in the box. The connector can be jostled loose, so use care to pack around it.

Dan I asked:What is the best way to make the connection between the Givi Stoplight kit and the wiring on my bike, a 2011 KLR650. I have it all apart and found the brake light harness but it seems I would need to cut off the existing, splice the Givi Stoplight kit wire with the brake wire and replace the harness. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. As a thought, could I connect it directly to the battery, positive to positive, negative to negative, with an inline fuse, 15 amp, on the positive line? That way I don't have to cut an existing harness.
James C:Dan Locate the two wires that light up your brake light by using a millimeter set to 20 volts DC scale. The black wire is the ground and that gets spliced to the black wire from the Gigi stoplight. The other wire, which on my bike was blue, gets spliced to the remaining Gigi wire. Its easy. The hard part is figuring out that the Gigi base has a section that needs to be knocked out so the connector can be pushed in.Jun 8, 2014
Juan Carlos S:Dan, I connected the negative to the chassis of the motorcycle unnde using the screws that secure the base of the bag to the motorcycle. I connected the positive wire to the positive of the bulb brake light using one of the clips that come with the Givi kit. I hope I have helped.Jun 8, 2014
David G:Dan, I used the included inline splice connectors to splice into the appropriate wires. They don't require cutting any existing wiring and make a good connection. If you go directly to the battery, the lights will be on all the time ( even when the key is off). Hope this helps. Jun 8, 2014
Thanks for reminding me. I forgot those were included with the kit. Two were included in my kit. I assume one is for the brake light and the other is for the ground. If not, to what did you connect the ground from the Givi Brake light harness?
