Incandescent brake light kit for the Givi V46 topcase. Significantly increase safety by raising and increasing your bike's brake light visibility.

Simple installation using pre-molded cutouts on the V46. Requires some disassembly of the V46 accent panels using a screwdriver. Requires tapping existing brake light wires.

  • Same brake light that comes pre-installed in the V46NF. If you are buying the V46NF topcase, you do not need to also buy the E105S.
  • Stoplight kit adds lights to the central, red circles. Large side reflectors remain the same and do not illuminate. Top case sold separately.

Fixed over 10 times in as many years If you like troubleshooting, grab this light kit. After having been rear-ended, I picked this kit up with my V46 topcase to make myself more visible to brain dead cagers. Install was a pain but what really irks me is how often the lights stop working, and more importantly how you have to figure out which part failed. Several points in the system seem to take turns breaking before rotating back into the failure podium. I've had multiple things go wrong with the connectors, sometimes on the base plate side, sometimes on the bottom of the case side, sometimes the connector that connects top and bottom halves of the case. The biggest failure seems to be with the connector on the bottom of the plate. At times it rotates as a previous reviewer mentioned there is no key to keep either of the two sides of the connector in place. The other problem is that since the connector on the bottom of the plate has spring loaded terminals to maintain contact with the base plate connector while riding over bumps, the wires attached to the terminal continually flex. Little by little, the strands all break from this constant bending and your light fails. Twice I've had to swap out that connector assembly due to the spring in the terminal becoming dislodged and frozen (not user serviceable), and many more times than that I had to strip off a little more wire and feed it into the terminal. GIVI does a great job of making spare parts available and sometimes even reasonably priced, but in this case the engineering of the light kit has so much room for failure that it's very frustrating November 4, 2015
Don't waste your time or money I am so glad I waited a couple of months to write this review, otherwise I would have given a good review like the others. The initial install will try your patience since a lot of the parts are made for people with small child like hands. But, once you get it working you’ll be so happy to see four red lights every time you hit the brakes you’ll convince yourself it was worth it since you are now more visible to traffic and people can see you braking easier. If you are only planning on using the lights for a month or so depending on how often you ride, stop reading here because that is about as long as they will light up. Slowly, the lights will stop working. Sporadically at first, but then more and more frequently. The problem is that the contacts and their holders that are used between the two parts of the lids are plastic, which connect to the two plastic lids by simply sliding in place and resting there. No screws or brackets to hold them securely in place, instead they are simply slid onto two little plastic pieces. Every time you open and close the lid, the contacts and their holders are stressed more and more. Slowly, the plastic pieces they are slid onto start to stress and move. I’ve managed to get the lights working again by shimming the contact holders with small pieces of rubber, but the lights are sporadically working now depending on how I close the lid. Unless they change their mounting system for the contact holders, I wouldn’t bother buying these lights since they won’t last that long. August 29, 2015
Basic light kit is pricey. Be patient during install First off, note that this light kit is just the four small lights on the top, middle portion of the V46. It won't light up the entire back of the V46. Installation takes a little longer than expected and at one point I was unimpressed with the wire routing coming out of the light module. To prevent the wire inside of topcase from getting tangled yanked by the gear you put inside, run a bead of silicon sealant over the wire to keep it tucked into the corner of the box. Good quality, fits right in I've seen comments before about been hard to install it. Not really. It's not a walk in the park, but still on the easy side. My perception is that this is related to the instructions, they could have some improvements, as you might guess some steps. With that said, great quality, everything fits in the right place, it takes an enthusiast like me 1,5h to install, no rushing. Kudos for Givi on the original accessories. October 7, 2014
Easy add on to the Givi Topcase The light kit provides a great addition to rear visibility on my bike. Lights are easy to install and appears to be a durable addition to the box. July 21, 2014
Juank Facil de instalar, funciona muy bien. Las intrusiones podrían se mejores pero se entienden. May 12, 2014
This light does what it is aimed at doing: adding extra stoplight visibility. I had this installed, together with the V46 topcase, by the dealer who sold me my bike. They weren't happy with how much time it took them to figure out installation and get the job done -- the actual work time for them was more than they estimated. That said, the light works once installed. One concern I have is that I have dislodged the wire connector once when I packed a bunch of stuff in the box. The connector can be jostled loose, so use care to pack around it. December 24, 2013

Dan I asked: What is the best way to make the connection between the Givi Stoplight kit and the wiring on my bike, a 2011 KLR650. I have it all apart and found the brake light harness but it seems I would need to cut off the existing, splice the Givi Stoplight kit wire with the brake wire and replace the harness. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. As a thought, could I connect it directly to the battery, positive to positive, negative to negative, with an inline fuse, 15 amp, on the positive line? That way I don't have to cut an existing harness.

Any thoughts or comments are greatly appreciated.

James C: Dan
Locate the two wires that light up your brake light by using a millimeter set to 20 volts DC scale. The black wire is the ground and that gets spliced to the black wire from the Gigi stoplight. The other wire, which on my bike was blue, gets spliced to the remaining Gigi wire. Its easy. The hard part is figuring out that the Gigi base has a section that needs to be knocked out so the connector can be pushed in.

Juan Carlos S: Dan,
I connected the negative to the chassis of the motorcycle unnde using the screws that secure the base of the bag to the motorcycle. I connected the positive wire to the positive of the bulb brake light using one of the clips that come with the Givi kit.
I hope I have helped.

David G: Dan,
I used the included inline splice connectors to splice into the appropriate wires. They don't require cutting any existing wiring and make a good connection. If you go directly to the battery, the lights will be on all the time ( even when the key is off). Hope this helps.

Dan I: Thanks for reminding me. I forgot those were included with the kit. Two were included in my kit. I assume one is for the brake light and the other is for the ground. If not, to what did you connect the ground from the Givi Brake light harness?

Thanks again for your help. Jun 8, 2014
Dan I: I figured out the where and how to punch out the plug for the connector. Does the connector insert in a particular way to connect properly with the contacts on the case itself?
