Much better than the OEM shield
I'm 5'11" and with the factory shield it didn't matter where it was set I was buffeted badly anytime I was going 65+mph. I bought this bike for commuting about 70 miles each way with the majority of that being interstate miles and the buffeting was exhausting. This windscreen made a huge difference! Driving 80 mph became bearable and much quieter with almost no buffeting!

The screen looks factory and installs easily, my only gripe is that I had to keep the screen in the lower position because in the higher position my hand guards would hit the screen and slightly limit how far I can turn the bars. I was going to try to modify the screen to allow the higher mounting but It wasn't needed once I tested it on the interstate.

I am very pleased with the Givi screen. I did a lot of research, trying to decide between it and the Puig. I'm glad I went with the Givi. It's worked perfect for my height. I'm 5'7 with a 30" inseam. Wind protection was best in the upper position. But the Barkbusters on each handlebar bumped it. In the lower position, it works perfect. And the airflow is "almost" as good. So that's where I have it mounted now. I do have it standing off the bike a little with some 15mm plastic spacers I found. This seems to allow a little air to flow under the screen and smooth out some of the turbulence. I may try to increase that to 20 or 25mm. And I may install a set of handlebar risers. I think if I do those two things, I'll have enough clearance to move the screen back to the upper position. But either way, the coverage is great, gives me a much more comfortable "pocket" to ride in, drastically reduces the wind noise so I don't have to wear ear protection as often, and keeps my head from slamming backward in a blast of air when I turn to do a lane-check at highway speeds (like the stock screen did). Oh, and did I mention the bike looks fantastic! I hope this helps...

Excellent windshield
This windshield is a great replacement for the much too small OEM unit. I'm 6' 1", so the OEM shield provided very little cover unless I tucked in behind it. It's an uncomfortable and unnatural position on the CB.

The Givi is nearly double the size, wider, and mounted to my bike in a couple of minutes. The wind at highway speeds now hits the top of my helmet instead of my chin, making for MUCH more comfortable riding. In strong headwinds, I do get a bit of a thrumming vibration/buffeting on my helmet, but it's completely manageable. Also, turning my head to check before lane changes no longer feels like my helmet is being pulled off my head.

The only minor annoyance I found is that the Givi's mounting holes aren't reinforced like on the OEM shield. It seems to be holding up fine, I'd just prefer reinforced mounting holes. Everything else, including price, has been excellent.

great product.
Installed the windshield on Tuesday and drove to Americade in the pouring rain on Thursday. (277miles) I can't imagine doing it without this product. Lots of protection with NO buffeting. An absolute must if you own a CB500X and drive in the rain or on the interstate.

Very pleased,
At 5'1" , this windshield is heaven. No buffeting for me at all and very little wind noise. This will definitely make it possible for me to ride into the colder weather more comfortably. It was also extremely easy to install, looks great and the quality is excellent. You'd never know it wasn't made by Honda for their CB500X. For the price you can't beat it. I can't give the durability 5 stars because I've only had it for a couple of months , but I have little doubt that it will serve me well.

Great product. Happy with results.
I bought this windshield for my cb500x because the stock screen wasn't doing anything for me during my 60 mile commute to work at 70mph. I installed this shield in 5 minutes. At 60 I can ride with my face shield open. At highway speeds I get slight buffeting since the wind hits the top of my helmet. I can lean a little forward or slouch a bit and it stops completely. Also wind noise is greatly reduced. Almost gone when leaning forward a bit. Haven't ridden in the rain since the install, so no experience with that. Overall I am very happy with the product. I'm 5'8" and the wind hits right above the face shield of my helmet.

Also, it has very little negative affect on my fuel mileage. Maybe 2 mpg at the most.

Excellent quality & wind protection
The quality of the windscreen was much better than I was expecting. Pictures do not do justice to this product. Wind protection is better than most screens that I have tried on the CB500X. No buffeting for my 5' 6" height. I am going to buy another while they are available.

Bug blocker
I'm 6'0 tall and this windshield works great for me. I live in farm country so when I ride at night bugs are always thick by the farm fields. I rarely take any to the face as the shield collects them or forces them over my visor.

As for fitment, I have mine installed in the higher setting. With the handlebars pushed fully to one side they just contact the shield. They still have their full range of motion though. I'm considering grinding off the bit of the screen that touches.

I'm very happy with this windshield.

Haven't had the screen long enough yet to provide a true review but so far so good.
This is the most cost effective way to move the wind above your head on a honda cb500x, however you will have to spacer the screen (about 1") away from the mounting brackets or you will be susceptible to head buffering depending on your height. This screen will work with barkbuster hand guards but again you must spacer (1" at least) the screen or the hand guards will hit the screen on full handlebar lock.
Happy with the product though!
Also Revzilla is the best!

Good product if user is ok with lower setting.
I bought this as I'm 6'3" and wanted a windscreen that pushed air over my helmet. I currently can only use it in the lower setting as theres interference with my Honda OEM hand guards. I may try some bar risers to see if there's clearance to move the windscreen up. Is doing it's job but could be better if there was proper clearance with hand guards. Good quality and fast shipping with Rev as always!

For longer rides and to keep the cold air off me as best as I can.

It works very well! It fits pretty well but with barkbuster handguards, they touch a little. A minor annoyance but I needed both

In cold weather riding every inch of protection keeps you warmer. This seems to be the tallest windscreen available for CB500X.

I have a 2014 Honda CB500X. I would assume that the mounting bracket would be the same for the 2013 year model. Does anyone know if that is true or not?
chris y on Sep 3, 2014
BEST ANSWER: It's the same mounting bracket. I have a 2014 Honda CB500X and this would have fit had I not returned it.

Almost everything on the '14 is the same as on the '13. The only difference I'm aware of so far is that the '14 service manual doesn't specify a valve check at the 600 mile service (but the '13 does).
Hi. I have the 2014 cb500x and have put on sw motech hand guards. Now the only way the handgaurds would fit was if I lowered my screen to the lowest setting as the hand guards would hit the "wind parts" of the screen and not allow a full turn (hence why id like to get a taller screen) will the groved sides allow for the full turn with the hand guards still on??
Thanks

BEST ANSWER: Hi.

The quick answer is no. I don't think Honda intended on 500x owners putting hand guards on that bike. I ended up getting the tall Givi windscreen and ran into the same problem. Hand guards bump right into the screen. I would guess that limited the full turning of the bars by about 15%. Riding wasn't an issue, but moving the bike around in the garage was. I ended up going back to the stock windscreen after about 150 miles with tall Givi on the bike. I'm 6'1" and screen is still a tad short for me. I was getting a lot of buffeting...even with a full face street helmet. There was some dirty air pockets I didn't like at 65-70mph. The taller screen also changed the "ride" a bit. Kinda acted like a sail and would force the bike around. Hope all that helps.
