I ride to get to work and for fun on the weekends. These bags are great for that. I can easily pop them on, and have enough storage space for my tools, clipboard and files, and extra clothes. On the weekends, when I don't want bulky bags, they come right off in one easy step.
These bags are expandable, and when expanded, they have enough space to store the Shoei GT-Air helmet which is pretty big. The bags are not what I'd call secure... Givi says they're lockable, but I wouldn't even bother. If you think someone might steal something out of the bags, don't leave it in there. I bet someone with a utility knife could slice right into the bags.
Givi also says the zippers are waterproof, but I haven't tested that claim yet.

Stu W:The bag didn't come with a lock, and not just any lock will fit. The hole for the lock mechanism is pretty small... designed for one of those little tiny luggage/suitcase locks.
It's enough to be a deterrence against casual thieves, but shouldn't be considered highly secure. That said, I really like these bags, and they are a great option between hard side cases and typical soft bags. They're well made, and look really sharp on my bike.May 4, 2014
