Ok hybrid bag I knew what I was getting into before I bought these, so I can't say that I'm disappointed. They seem to be well made: the zippers move really well and the fit/finish is pretty nice. Like the other reviewers stated, don't expect any kind of security with what you put inside the bags given that they could be cut open easily with a pocket knife. It's kind of funny... Givi puts a rigid keyed lock on the bag so it cannot be detached from the rack. The message here is that their bags are important, but not your contents! These bags look excellent on my bike, so if you're worried that adding bags to your bike will make it look less cool, you might be surprised by these. October 28, 2015
Easy on, Easy Off I ride to get to work and for fun on the weekends. These bags are great for that. I can easily pop them on, and have enough storage space for my tools, clipboard and files, and extra clothes. On the weekends, when I don't want bulky bags, they come right off in one easy step. These bags are expandable, and when expanded, they have enough space to store the Shoei GT-Air helmet which is pretty big. The bags are not what I'd call secure... Givi says they're lockable, but I wouldn't even bother. If you think someone might steal something out of the bags, don't leave it in there. I bet someone with a utility knife could slice right into the bags. Givi also says the zippers are waterproof, but I haven't tested that claim yet. May 12, 2014

Raul M: I'm a venezuelan rider, we can exceed the speed limits on some highways. I had reach about 140 miles per hour sometimes with the Givi saddlebags, but not overloaded. Got a friend whose has lost both in a trip due to load and speed. Sep 26, 2015

Ricky C: That sounds like manufacturer's disclaimer to cover their butt.
Unless you ride at 100 MPH for hours and days, I wouldn't worry about it.

A shopper asked: Will these fit my 2015 FJ-09, the sport touring version of FZ-09? Aug 23, 2015
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Ricky C: In order to mount this, you need three parts

1. These side bag
2. Side bracket
3. Base bracket (mounted under rear tail)

Side bags can be mounted on different bike but the brackets fits on exact model that was designed to. If you find side brackets for FJ 09, it will fit. If you don't find, then it won't fit with other bracket.

sergio m: Probably not. Because you need a kit rack to put these on and the kit is specific to FZ09. I think the FJ09 has its own set of bags from Yamaha. If GIVI made a rack kit for the FJ these will fit. These bags are universal each bike has to have an specific kit for them. Without this kit these bags will not fit anything. Aug 23, 2015

A shopper asked: Are these bags waterproof? Looking to replace the givi ones that didn't work very well even with the rain covers. Thanks for the help. Jun 25, 2015

Richard T: By them selves I would say they have done a good job of keeping the water out on my commutes, with the water covers on and drawn tight I've not had anything get wet from water thrown up by my back tire. Empty they keep their shape and wipe clean easily. For soft formed bags I would have to say get them you won't be sorry. Jun 25, 2015

A shopper asked: how do i lock the zipper? can i use any lock or do i have to use your your? May 4, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Stu W: The bag didn't come with a lock, and not just any lock will fit. The hole for the lock mechanism is pretty small... designed for one of those little tiny luggage/suitcase locks.

It's enough to be a deterrence against casual thieves, but shouldn't be considered highly secure. That said, I really like these bags, and they are a great option between hard side cases and typical soft bags. They're well made, and look really sharp on my bike.
