Made from 300-denier Cordura, with ballistic-grade in the shoulders and elbows, along with removable armor, the Hybrid LT Jackets are built to play the part. Inside, of course, is Gerbing's Microwire Heat Technology, delivering that smooth, even heat Gerbing's is known for. The LT's heated back, chest, arms and collar all cover you in a soothing blanket of warmth.

In addition to its style and Microwire heat, what makes this jacket special is its Hybrid capabilities, when paired to the optional 12V FlexPack Battery. The FlexPack fits in a special pocket in the jacket. You can power the jacket from the bike. Or step off the bike and the power of the FlexPack takes over, controlled by a 3-position remote control, for up to 3 hours of heat. Get back on the bike, plug in, and the FlexPack charges back up while you ride. Or if you want to ride wirelessly, just power the jacket from the FlexPack.

Great product I'd recommend it to others. The Gerbing's LT jacket along with a pair of Gerbing's G-3 gloves makes winter riding much more pleasurable. February 20, 2012
Very very nice in cold weather. I like every thing about this jacket except the sleeve cuff, it barley fits in the gloves. It should tapper and be adjustable. Big time cold weather flaw. On the plus side the rest of the j met and gloves are by far the best built items I Owen. November 14, 2011

I live in in the suburbs of Chicago and would like to extend my riding as much as possible through the winter. I am in between getting the LT hybrid or the extreme element jacket. i like the sport look of the LT hybrid but wouild like to know how does the LT Hybrid compare to the Extreme element jacket when it comes to cold weather/winter riding. I'm hoping to be comfortable enough to ride in the winter in cold temperatures as long as there is no ice or snow in the ground.

Answer: 
The Gerbings Heated Hybrid LT is not waterproof. The exterior will shed some water in a light rain, but you will need a rain jacket to go over the jacket when riding in the rain for extended periods. There are no vents in the front of the jacket, there is only one vent at the rear of the jacket.

Answer: 
You can use the flex pack to heat the Hybrid Jacket and Extreme Element pants, but may not be applicable for all-day use. The information on the 128 FlexPack page details draw and hours of usage. You may find the jacket liner better suited to hunting, as the Hybrid jacket was designed for motorcycle use and may inhibit some of your movement while hunting.

Answer: 
Yes, the 128FP FlexPack battery will power both the Hybrid LT jacket and the Extreme Element pants. The primary attribute differentiating the FlexPack battery from the 128MV battery is its shape - it is designed to fit into the back armor pocket of the LT jacket (It is also flexible, has remote control, etc.).

If you only plan to use these products hunting, you will not need any additional accessories, as the battery comes with a wall charger, and the pants will plug directly into the jacket. If you plan to use them on your motorcycle you will need a battery harness, a controller (on/off switch), and possibly an extension plug/cord, to get power from the battery harness to your jacket.

Answer: 
The Hybrid jacket should have the same connections as the regular heated jacket so it looks like you should be able to plug the Extreme Element pants into the jacket. As long as you do not run it at full power (on the bike I would get roasted hence the necessary use of a temperature controller) it should keep you warm for several hours. Looks like it would come with all the necessary wiring, etc.

Answer: 
It should have the connections for hooking the pants up. It should have a battery wiring harness to connect to the bike. You will need to buy the digital temperature controller. Buy the dual controller to regulate the pants liner or gloves separately. Also consider the newer microwire socks or boot liners if your feet tend to get cold. Course on the RT you may get some heat from the cylinder heads.

I have an 07 F800st. Be aware this jacket will not work with factory installed acc socket. It trips the can bus. I have mine wired to the battery and I pull the pigtail out from under the seat when I use it. Not sure about this particular version but mine did NOT come with the heat controller that is a separate buy. Get the pant liners too! I have a ridden in single digits and been nice and warm with that setup.

Measurements for Proper Fit

  • Height - Measure while wearing your riding boot
  • Weight - Record your weight while wearing street clothes 
  • Belly - Measure the widest part of the belly
  • Hips - Measure around the fullest part of seat while standing and while sitting. Record the higher number
  • Chest - Measure around the fullest area of the chest, holding tape firm and level. Hold arms out, place tape, drop arms and record measurement 
  • Arm - Measure with arm in riding position. Measure from the back of the neck, over point of shoulder,around back of elbow and down the outside of the arm to the wrist. (Length of sleeve is personal preference)
  • Shoulder to Shoulder - Measure from the outside of one shoulder, across the back to the outside of the other shoulder, holding tape measure in a straight  line (do not wrap the tape  measure around the top of the shoulder) 
  • Belt to Floor (Out seam) - Measure from the top of the belt to floor with shoes on
  • Thighs - Measure around the fullest  part of the thighs while sitting. 
  • Inseam - Measure from the crotch to  the bottom of the floor along the  inseam 
  • Rise - Measure from the top of the belt under the crotch, and back up to the top of belt, sitting and standing . Use the higher number
  • Neck to Bottom  (For 3/4 length jackets only) Measure beginning at the back of your neck line and continue down  to where you want the bottom of the jacket to end
  • Neck - Measure around neck
