good product, but not without flaws
Very comfortable and warm jacket (even with power off). Back protector needed an immediate upgrade (Alpinestars Bionic Air Protector insert worked perfectly). Also I don't like how collar velcro is designed, it keeps catching on helmet strap every time I turn my head.
Other than that, great product.

Great jacket!
My husband already had an extreme element jacket so I knew it was a good product. I wore mine for the first time and I am hooked. I was so warm and comfortable, even with the jacket on low. This jacket is so comfortable it will be my go to jacket even if I don't need to turn the heat on. Great product!

Sleeper Product
This is simply a fantastic product. Inclement weather is no longer an issue with this jacket. It heats up very nice, blocks wind, and the water simply bounces off. Also, I was very surprised at the how well the jacket looked. I bought it, not for a fashion statement, but for ultimate coverage in bad weather. In saying that, it has as nice adventure look to it (I ride a BMW 1200 GS Adv and it looks great with it) I also have some Gerbings gloves, and the ability to plug the gloves into the sleeves is so convenient (no more running wires through the jacket!). Combined with the gloves, you can ride as long as their is no ice on the road. The cold simply is eliminated as an issue, comfort wise. Sizing, this is what I ordered. I am 6'1. 40 inch chest with 31 inch waste So according to the sizing chart I ordered a small long. And it fits well. I would recommend the long in most sizes for the added sleeve length. It would be quite pointless to have sleeves too short which would allow the wind in. Since it is American made, Gerbings builds it's gear for the American appetite and the girthy after effects. That is a why a 'small' fits me, whereas, I wear a Large in my Rev'it Air Jacket for the summer.
Also, I put an average on airflow, but you don't want airflow on this jacket. So, unzip it if you want air.

Great coat for those cold and wet days
This is my first heated coat and I don’t know how I lived without it. I used to show up to work cold and miserable. And if it rained, I didn’t even try. After I got this coat, temperature and rain don’t even matter. So far, I have ridden with it down to 40 degrees and still have the temp turned down from max. I have been through a few rain storms when its 45-50 and show up to work dry and warm inside. Highly recommended. Quality is great and pockets are everywhere. I measured slightly smaller than their smallest measurement and the coat fits great. I wear a light sweater under the coat so the heating elements to get too hot against my skin.

good jacket
I picked my size by trying on a fiends older version.
The size chart did match also.
Road 300 miles in 55 degree weather and 300 back in 34 degree weather. On way back had it cranked up 90 percent. Was nice and warm.
Wind PROOF. this coat will be good even when not plugged in.
Fit. form fitted as designed. would like a bit more in under arm. Make sure your shirt is not bunched up under arm, happened while testing and felt pinched. But once I reliazed what happened, then all was fine. Snug but fine.
Comparison to older version
new has waterproof zippers on pockets.
older version had better closing system at wrists.
You could set the size by using the velcro closure and then take on and off by using the zipper to give you space.
The new version has the velcro closer covering the zipper, thus making the zipper useless
More neck room in the newer version.
The lower pockets have two openings each
One on top and the other from the side.
The new version added a zipper to the side making it waterproof. Old was just open on the side
New zipper opening is so small that you cannot put your hand inside.
But plently of other places to store things.
Main zipper, unzips both ways. I would unzip about two inches on the bottom and it would lay better while riding.
Personally would have liked the belt to be about 1 inch lower.
Armor in back, elbows and sholders. Were in correct placement for me and did not even notice them. I took out the back though.
I see myself using this as just a normal riding jacket in 50-60 degree weather. It is great at stopping the wind.
